Trail Riding in Allegheny National Forest and the Kinzua Bridge State Park
In this episode, we traveled to the Allegheny National Forest in Pennsylvania to ride a part of the Marienville & Timberline OHV Trails. The best part of the trip had to be camping at Forest Lodge and Campground over the weekend. It’s a small RV park and lodge with plenty of rustic sites for tent camping. Best of all, the campground had access to the trail system, so we didn’t have to trailer our machines to a trail head.
We also got to visit the Kinzua Dam and the Kinzua Bridge State Park, must see places while you're in the area.
By the way, Rob turned 60. Please wish him a happy birthday.

    Hi, thanks for the content definitely enjoy it. I see one of your riders has a large Ohio license plate in this video. I have tried to get a plate recently but was told it was not legal. Do you know how he got this plate ? I believe it was the 4 seat rzr.

    • @notdoneyetadventures492
      @notdoneyetadventures492 3 дні тому

      In a nut shell, your sxs must be registered as a utility vehicle. Look at your title first. If it identifies your sxs as an ATV, you must retitle it to a utility vehicle. That generally means you use the vehicle to haul mulch, yard waste, etc. Those cities in Ohio that permit the usage of utility vehicles and slow moving vehicles (golf carts) on their roads should also perform inspections of those vehicles to make sure the sxs has lights, turn signals, horn, lic. plates light, wiper, windshield. That inspection sheet then can be taken to the title office for the purpose of getting a new title. It's much easier to register a sxs that has a dump bed. Registering a four seater may not be an easy task as it really depends on the officer's viewpoint or PD policy when inspecting the sxs. Some are more lenient than others in terms of interpretation of what a utility vehicle is. Ohio Revised Code 4505.01 (VV) "Utility vehicle" means a self-propelled vehicle designed with a bed, principally for the purpose of transporting material or cargo in connection with construction, agricultural, forestry, grounds maintenance, lawn and garden, materials handling, or similar activities. Also remember, just because you're successful in obtaining a lic. plate doesn't mean you have the right to drive your sxs across the state. You can only operate it in those jurisdictions that have ordinances permitting the use of slow moving or utility vehicles. Further, each city's ordinance dictates which roads in their city can be used. For additional information refer to Ohio Revised Code 4511.214, then search your city ordinances to see if they allow it.

      @@notdoneyetadventures492 thank you for the information, I have an rmax4 1000 so it has a small bed but I will move the seat forward to make it seem more useful as a utility vehicle.

      @darrylhoupt3763 it was the trip of a lifetime for sure. I'm not sure I would do it solo. Just because everything is pretty remote and we didn't run into a whole lot of other riders along the way, and Cell Signal is not great out on the trails so if you break down or have an emergency you may be out there a while before someone found you.

    • @notdoneyetadventures492
      @notdoneyetadventures492 3 місяці тому

      I think it really just depends on who's doing the inspection if you'd want to put license plates on the machine. Our traffic code stipulates turn signals must be present on a motor vehicle visible to the front and to the rear. It does not say where in particular they are to be mounted. I suppose you should check your state's administrative code. We got our windshields from: www.alphawindshields.com/shop/p/new-2021-yamaha-wolverine-rmax-1000 The manufacturer uses Yamaha specific clamps, which makes it easy to remove and replace when needed. The only thing we don't like about the windshield is the wiper arms that come as an option. You really need straight arms; the curved arms don't fit above the windshield well when you don't need them. Most auto parts stores should be able to help out with that.

    Yes mud busters both inner and outer. But what i ordered the very first day i had it along with those was seat belt harnesses to get rid of that unbelievably thick and low mounted inner buckle that left my leg bruised and sore for a week after only one hour of riding dirt roads. Yes front and rear windows, flip UP not down on the front and EMP on the rear they are the best IMO and they are the only plastic one that doesn't come cut out for the removed factory seat belts. If you are going to ride any at all in the dark you are going to want side lights, I promise you! I have lighted Seizmik mirrors that work great for this. Wish I'd put them on before installing the inner splash guards. Any wiring should be done before those go on. They're a little hard to install (or at least mine were) and i didn't want to remove them just for one wire. Stuffed a rag into the passenger's side grab bar to keep the cold air from blowing directly into lap as well. Oh and don't forget to get two clevises for the front.

    Nice vid gents. I spent 58 days the last couple summers crossing Newfoundland in my RMax. For the ferry I get everything I need for the crossing in a backpack as I'm waiting for the ferry. Then it's easy on and easy off. The local folks are friendly beyond belief. For maps, go to the site called "crossing nfld by atv" and it has all the routes to navigate in or around towns, side trip etc. If you go back to the rock they have opened new trails to go north and East towards St. Johns from Argentia that'll add a few more days. Im going back again this summer!!! Cheers.

      Joe, thank you for the comment. We're having a great time to be sure. We'll be sure to post something on Facebook before any big trip to Michigan. It's truly a beautiful state.

      Great news! Rob just reached out to Beaver Concepts. No, they're not going out of business; they've just been swamped with work. Beaver Concepts told Rob they'll be in touch as soon as possible. We have two of their racks now and working toward another one. We love them.

      It was truly awesome! We got to see things that others don't get to see because of the SXS access. Amazing!

      Mello group of dudes…I have the same machine and love it…I’m in Pa. As well ..bought mine in NY state at Lanes Yamaha ..my mods include, glass windshield, rear windshield, fender extenders front and rear, body protection, tubes that go around the front and down the sides of the machine, A arm guards front and rear to save the CV boots, LED lights that go in the hood to replace the fake air Scoop, plus some other stuff I’m forgetting at the moment, I’m over 60 so the memory is fading ….hauled a few buck out of the woods this past season so it’s already earned it keep, too old to be dragging deer around my farm…keep on keeping on men….my other machine is a 2004 Yamaha rhino 669 that is still running and in excellent condition, never had an issue either it in all the years I have owned…speaks volume for Yamaha quality …they make great machines ….

      The only draw back for me having purchased the machine in PA was that I had to pay more in taxes to OH when I licensed it. It seems we're taxed at a higher rate here. :( Great idea getting the arm guards. Rob and John put them on right away. I'd already spent more $ than the bank lady (wife) had authorized, so I have to sneak them on later. LOL! We agree, the Yamaha's are great machines for sure. Thanks for sharing.
