I enjoy your pacing. In year 40 I'm already 1200 pop and I've lost interest becouse it has no more the per-citizen feel and you start to reason to averages and big numbers. I should have taken it more chill.

When I get close to 400 population, I build a second livestock building for each type of livestock. When the old livestock building is full, I move about half the population from each old building to a new building and fill up the workers. With the birth rate at maximum, both livestock buildings will refill in a couple years and you don't have to manually butcher anything ever again. You have a good amount of money, you could build the second building, split the population, and refill one or both with a few more livestock from a trader to boost re-population. The birth rate will exceed the population of the building, giving steady meat and about 500-600 milk to make into cheese a year. I usually have 3-4 people in a cheese maker at that volume of milk. If milk spoils, I add more to the cheese maker to go fetch milk. If your cheese makers are always idle, remove one or two until there's no milk spoiling but the workers aren't idle all year. Also, I maximize workers around gold mining, gold smelting, and food production buildings. I max out a gold mine with workers, place a stockyard very close to it to reduce travel time for transferring resources, and usually have 2 foundries. The carts seem to come get ore around 40 but for some reason people also still run to a stockyard with ore too. One foundry does gold only and it's located closer to the gold production area (with a guard tower or other protection!). The other does iron, and I turn off gold. With food production buildings, I have at least half the worker slots full making glass because not only does it go into the preserves building, it's a luxury for homes. I have the worker slots in the preserve building full, and at least 2 orchards. I have 2-3 windmills with 2 workers in each, and my bakeries have 2-4 people in each. I think letting each livestock building fill to maximum population will help with your food too because meat and milk will be steady. Your farms are looking healthy but you can let weeds go to about 5-8% before doing maintenance to maximize food production too. For the catapults that you saw in the raid, the only way to really destroy them is with calvary, specifically lancers. Lancers are SO good against more heavily armored enemies and catapults. They're slow to move and expensive to have, but with your relic the costs of military is reduced a little. You're doing a really good job!

One of the challenges you have to face is that catapult! You probably need to have your troops attack it when it shows up again.

To answer your question about if raiders attack the temple - they can, but I have not seen it in my games. So I will not say it never happens, but I have not seen it. You can add one worker back to your big field to prevent losing crops to rot, too. 150 lost is not bad, but if you expand the field it may end up being more lost. It’s something to always watch - if you have rot, add a worker, if you have disease, choppies and clover like you are doing. You are managing the farms well! YES YOU GOT THE BEST RELIC STRAIGHT AWAY! 🎉

I am watching! You can try 2 farmers each on your fields now and see if you lose any crops to rot. If you do lose some to rot, add 1 or 2 farmers to the field that lost to rot. Your fields are so close that rot should not happen, but there are a lot of other factors that can influence how efficient farmers are. Try reducing to 2 per field and see what happens. I think that would give you a total of about 10 farmers. You are doing a really good job! The new combat is hard and it takes a while to get used to. Don't worry about your big "fail". I lost a hundred people the first time I had a big raid after the patch. I play on Vanquisher difficulty and the new combat was a huge change! I didn't have time to prepare for all the new enemies like the horses and catapults. Your farms look good, they will be producing much more now that the disease is gone and the clay/sand is right for the crops you have. Second point: it may be time to consider using the Temple. It is a bit expensive to build, but the relics you can find around the map in the ruins, and from raiders and raider camps can really help you. For example, there's relics that reduce the monthly cost of soldiers and guards. There's some that increase meat from hunter camps, an Ice one that reduces food spoilage rate, one that increases birth rate, and one that makes villagers get hungry slower so they work a little longer. There's also a couple that increase damage done by soldiers and guards, and one that increases damage from bows and crossbows which will help hunters, guards in towers and archers. When the temple is fully upgraded, you can have 3 relics at a time. You may get a lot of benefit from using those relics. The ruins outside your gate by the mines is one you can excavate once the temple is done. One more small thing to help: max out the workers in your markets when you can. I think you mentioned it a couple episodes ago, but maybe if you take away a couple farmers you can add more workers to the market. They are slow to stock the market, so it really takes 4 people to keep your houses full plus the market full.

To add to the other comment about veterancy - the longer your soldiers stay assigned as soldiers, and the more combat they see, that star level goes up. It goes up VERY slowly. But going out to kill raider camps and coming out of the barracks to fight invasions is all a way to improve that. However, it can also get them killed if they do not have enough gear, which means you will lose any star progress you had. So go carefully with good gear and only take on fights that you are sure to win.

Hi, me again. 😀 I think your farms could be optimized. You can reduce the workers per field to maybe 2. The farmers share work, they will move to another field if their work is done. If you get an alert that crops were lost due to rot, increase the workers by one. Also, all your crop fields have a lot of disease, so the food produced is very low. I would suggest fixing one field at a time: put clover and maintenance (choppies) in the field for at least a year and only put crops back when the disease is gone. With some of your badly diseased fields that may take 2 years or more. That will increase your food production a lot, back to the magic number of 7 months of food supply for immigration. But only do one field at a time so you do not lose all your food production. Keep an eye out for new diseases on the field. Take out the crops affected, and plant something else until the disease goes away. I usually have a field dedicated to one thing, like flax. That field is only flax, so I make sure the sand/clay balance is right for the 10% bonus, and put clover and maintenance (choppies) in the field if flax is diseased. If you keep on top of disease control, you can sometimes clear the disease in half a year and still have some yield in the second half of the year. I do the same thing for root vegetables, greens, and grains like wheat and rye. All of those have a dedicated field for just those food types, and I watch diseases carefully. You're doing a really good job with your town, there's just a couple things that could maybe help a little.
