Great info. I'm having a depress clutch pedal fault when I try to start my 987.2 boxster, I'm hoping this just needs to be replaced. I thought I'd have to remove the casing. 😅
Can you let me know where you purchased the spare wheel mechanism for the Fiat Ducato?
Just did mine today. A tip for everyone: use a long 3/4 wrench to twist to the left to unlock and right to lock. Also hold the break pedal when put it in also helps
Hi 👋🏽 Great Video 👏🏼 Eventually came across yr channel whilst searching for install videos for air suspension.. My Auto sleeper Stratford came with ALKO Air Top Suspension (very similar to the Martech) but after a couple of years instead of having the comfortable ride we were used to, the camper felt like it was grounding, and I noticed even though I topped up the air in the system after a short while there was no air left in the bellows/bags.. Having searched on the Auto-Sleepers owners forum, there were several people with the same issue.. It appeared that during the conversion Auto-Sleeprs had fitted the bellows upside down !! The design of the air bags was such that there was a standard nut and bolt used to secure the air bag to the body of the vehicle, which protrudes below the rim, and over time this had worn the rubber bellows/bag and caused it to leak, then puncture 😤 The ASOF said that Auto-sleeprs were aware of this and a Re-call on the Air Top suspension fitted incorrectly was in place.. I contacted them and arranged for a time when we could drive to their headquarters so they could replace.. They completed the new install FOC.. When I looked underneath the Camper, they had installed the new units, but used the same standard nut & bolt, but with the head of the bolt facing into the rubber bellows, instead of the longer end of the bolt, which I was suspicious of at the time 🤔 Long story short the bellows/bags failed again !! When I contacted them they simply refused to replace them and said that it was down to "Operator error" for not keeping sufficient air in the bellows to ensure the protruding bolt did not make contact with the bellows.. I explained that during the winter months when the van was in storage (and unaccessible) the air in the system naturally escaped and the bellows became deflated, causing the issue, and that using standard nuts and bolts were a bad design.. After a few emails and calls back and forth Auto-Sleeprs just stopped replying to me.. 😡 Looking at comments on the Forum, ALKO have now redesigned the bellows/bags to be similar to the Martech ones you fitted, where there are no bolts protruding into the rubber air bag area.. Which brings me to the search for installing air bag installation videos.. I wanted to see how difficult it was, as im not mechanically minded, but yr video (simple, clear, concise) made me think it was within my capabilities, as all the pipework is already installed, and just the bellows need changing.. One thing you could help me with further, is showing me where the vehicle needs to be "Jacked Up" so as to take the pressure off the leafs while I change the bags ? The thought of being under the camper and working on the suspension scares the hell out of me 😆🧰 Many Thanks Ian PS - My base vehicle is a Peugeot Boxer, so the same as yr Ducato..
Hi Ian. With regards to jacking up I used the jacking points on the vehicle and didn’t remove the wheels. That way you can adjust the height to give you the space you need. Hope that helps

What was the issue? I have checked all the wires, fuses even replaced the battery. Can't pinpoint the issue. I have Error code 3 module is faulty Any thoughts?
Very useful video thanks for posting . Going fit one to ours soon.
Thank you
Very helpful! Thanks for showing the twist to remove. That had me stumped for a bit.
Pretty relaxing stuff there 😂😂
Hi excellent video, i have a 997.1 and want to purchase some quickjacks can i ask what size did you buy please.
Very good. Nice to see that you grease up some bolds and nuts. I do it too on my Citroen Jumper 😂 to get away with the rust.
Thank you very much!!! I'm so happy to found you here. Greetings Thomas
Hallo sailor. I think you need to buy an extra 1 piece of that solar panel. Reality of solar is efficiency about 70 percent because of not ideal positioning. Even your panels have 8.17 ampers. So 2 are 16.34 and 3 are 24.51 ampers. Delta 2 is limited to 15 amps but volts are important, those can not be more like 60 V. Station can limit ampers on its own to 15 max. So 70% efficiency is for 8,17=5,72 ampers, for 16,34=11,44 and for 24,51=17,16 ampers. In your video you said that you achived maximum 290wats. So lets say 24V from solar panels mppt voltage x 12amps=288 wats. Loses from cables can be 5 watts. Anyway with 3 panels you will be like 24V x 15amps=360wats. 15 amps because of limit of delta 2. In reality inverter will gain those 17,16 ampers and will limit them to 15 ampers. So gain could be like 70 wats. 70wats by 4hours is 0,280 kw of extra power for charging. Trust me i have delta 2 i charge it with one gigant 675 wat panel and i saw maximum about 70-72% efficiency which is 472,5 watt or 486 wats. Nice trip. Good luck
Many thanks for that information. Very interesting. I’ve done my trip and it worked out great but I did fit a new compressor fridge before I went. I ran the main delta on mains and plugged a small 4-6 amp trickle charger in to keep the leisure battery charged. After 33 hours the delta was dead but the leisure battery was at almost 80% the fridge freezer was at -18 so well pleased 😀 I’m just wondering if I’d used the 12v output instead of the mains would I have got more out of the delta? I do have the extra battery but I don’t take it away with me as I don’t really need it. Thanks again
@@porscheminormechanicsrando8394 Can you please provide me more details about that new fridge? Direct link on product or write exact model with detailed specification. Most important IS Power needed for compresor. IT could be like 75 wat and even 780 wats for a short period of time. Temperature in fridge -18 is a waist, set it to -16. Compresor will stop each time faster. As for a DC port there are many bad stories that DC ports start to melt and burned. I personally would never use DC ports on boat for safety. But maybe I am too afraid and DC port could work just fine.
So DC vs AC. I have found battery test on UA-cam channel called : Hobotech . AC 81% so from 1024wh it has 830Wh and DC Has less 79% so from 1024 wh it has 800 Wh for use. So AC should have better efficiency then DC. Personally I do not trust reviewers, because DC port maybe does not use fans as much as AC.
One more thing. I would suggest that you should get rid of your Delta2. Return it or sell it and buy Delta 2 Max. You will get extra 1 kw power and two xt60 ports for solar, so 1000 wat charging . Each port will have same 11V -60V and 15 ampers. Delta2 Max should also have a quiter fans according reviewers. So you can stick maybe then with 4 panels or try 6 panels. With delta2 Max version you can run laundry machine which has heating element which need 2,27 kw to heat water for a short period of time . So pure shine Wave invertor till 2400 wats and with xboost till 3400 wats. Xboost can damage senzitive electronic parts in laundry machine, because now all uses smart technologies.....
I've inherited my dad's zt-t as a project, and was very apprehensive about getting stuck into the front suspension due to it being on 174k. Ordered a rebuild kit from DMGRS for £330 which includes everything in this video, this'll be a great help once it arrives!
Your maths was wrong going from 13 hours to 26 hours. 2x10 hours for both batteries and then around 3 hours for the fridge to go above 5 degrees. So 23 hours not 26. The only option you had with that fridge was a second plug in battery to take you to 3x10 hours + 3 hours to come up above 5 degrees. Just buy your shopping and fill the fridge when you get there :)
Apologies if I was a little off. Those 3 way fridges are very inefficient. I actually replaced the fridge before my trip and fitted a new compressor fridge. Total game changer. I connected the ecoflow via a trickle charger to the leisure battery while on the crossing which was 33 hours. When I arrived in Bilbao the ecoflow was dead but the leisure battery was still at 90%. Just brilliant. It’s was also 40 degrees everyday in Spain and the fridge maintained-18 in the freezer and 4 - 5 in the fridge. The old 3 way fridge would have been absolutely useless. No matter how many batteries you put on an absorption fridge you would never keep the contents chilled in that climate.
Whsy a fantastic vdo A to z
Brilliant, my vehicle is the 2.0 Hdiblue, different in little ways but I think the fundamentals are the same….top man
I spoke with Ecoflow regarding this setup as I have four of these units. They recommend instead of two Delta 2 units to use a Delta 2 and a Delta 2 extra battery. As in your pairing the inverters lose a lot of efficiency. 12 volt is more efficient.
Great spot. Would never have thought of this. Thanks.
Just found (and watched) your video on how to do this job after I had employed someone to do it for me. The problem I have is that he said the fuel pump needs replacing as it was damaged removing it from the casing. Your video shows the sprocket being removed with three jacking bolts and then, after all the mounting bolts have been removed, the case being wriggled a little it comes away from the fuel pump quite easily. I believe he has hit the end of the pump shaft to remove it from the casing rather than remove the sprocket. Was there a problem releasing the fuel pump from the casing on your engine?
I watched your video again now the motrhome is back from our garage , nice made video recording and well edited where needed, our 130 ducato 2014 is out of the garage and working we paid the bill and happy to have our HILTON on the road agian , just to ask,do you have to reset the timing belt in the computer ?? if you have an OBD reader?? having the same model of motor yours I like to find one that works ,Kind Regards Rolf Comez Lowland Video production Hamilton New Zealand
Hi no you do not reset the timing belt. It’s not recorded.
Amazing video! I tried it myself but with no proper tools i feel like im doomed😂. I genuinely love the car but i feel gutted with this job. Would you do another one😅?
What a fantastic video about a job that we have given away to the garage but good to see that it is a big job and happy to pay for this ,we have a 2014 ducato 130 what is near the same ,very good camera work and good narration what helps a big thanks from Lowland video production new Zealand
You can freeze a couple of bottles of water or buy a bag of ice to put in your fridge before you go. That will extend the life of the battery as it won’t need to kick in that much until the ice melts.
In fact you can freeze anything that is ok to freeze that goes in your fridge before you go. That will make your fridge into essentially a cool box for a long period before you’ll need to use any power to keep it cool.
I’ve actually replaced the 3way fridge with a new compressor fridge freezer. Full stocked it ran for almost 3 days in a large 12v battery without any charge. Totally a game changer and the freezer sits at -18 and the fridge at 4 I’m still going to use the ecoflow to charge the battery while on the crossing just to keep the leisure battery topped up.
Great video thank you , just going out to do mine now in the 10 minutes of sunshine we are going to have this year 😂
How are all your spacers holding up? Never used TWD before, so I'm trying to see if these will be ok, especially on euro road trips and relatively high speed runs on the autobahn.
No problems to report still nice and shiny 😝
Very Nice Tank you
Thank you, a superb install video which was so helpful and gave me confidence that I could install. Mind you it took me a complete day and half - can't believe it can be fitted in two hours, even if you have a lifting ramp! I have now installed this on my van, did have a bit of a problem with the compressor as the one supplied only worked intermittently but Martec did exchange it for me - now works a treat! I was lucky as I already had hole in battery box for airlines so no need to drill (just opened it up a little). Used the van in Scotland for a 5 week trip on and off ferries and the extra height helped, Ive gained about an extra 60mm at 5bar, van is definitely more stable on road especially when being overtaken by large vehicles on motorway.
Excellent job. Well done and very satisfying. Martec are pretty good all things aside.
Do the spacers result in your body work getting peppered in stone chips? Im thinking of installing 15mm twd spacers on mine also.
I haven’t noticed any difference with stone damage but I do have the clear decals fitted to the lower arches.
That’s a great setup!! I’m thinking of ordering the extended battery 🔋 now that they have a great sale on them. Is it as simple as plugging it up to my Delta 2 and does it fast charge the same?
I’ve been running mine for about 6 months and they are great. Yes just plug in the extra battery and they will both fast charge on mains but I only use solar. It’s a shame you can only add 1 extra battery to the delta2 I wish I’d got the delta max now although it’s not as portable and heavy. If they ever get cheaper I’d buy the same again to double my power.
Nice video, can you please be so kind and give me a link to buy the the paddle valves?
Hi the valves were part of the full kit but if you go on eBay and search Martec air suspension you might find separately listed parts.
Great video. Followed it today when we did the same on our motorhome. Lot of work. Took 7 hours with 2 of us doing it. Thanks
Well done. 👍
Unbelievably that sensor if not working can give you high emissions and wreck your dpf I found out the expensive way. Great video. Tell as many Peugeot/Fiat/Citreon owners as you can to save them heartache and money.
You’re right in that it’s unbelievable. The outside temperature sensor has no bearing on the exhaust system. The dpf has its own temperature sensor and only regenerates when it reaches the required temp. The dpf will regenerate regardless of the outside temperature.
@@porscheminormechanicsrando8394 You’d be surprised. The Ducato (and similar vans) need this outside airtemp sensor for the DPF to start a regen. There are even manufacturers who want the airco compressor to run, as a pre-requisite for a regen. There’s a YT channel from O’Riley’s Autos (a mobile mechanic in the UK), who is specialized in DPF’s, and a lot of fault result from a faulty temp-sensor. Sadly even Fiat dealers don’t really know this, with a DPF fault they are going to charge you £1000’s for a new DPF, which will eventually again will clog up, because the real fault wasn’t corrected properly (eg the temp sensor).
Thanks for the video it makes sense now 😊
You’re so welcome.
Great video.. Does the twin conteol allow you to use them to level the van left to right ? I am probably going to buy the same kit £489 on ebay
Yes it does.
wrightbus wrongchoice I love it!
Sorry for the stupid question, but can these LEDs be used on a van that have regular bulbs, or do I need a converter kit.
Yes they can if they are the same type but if you have CanBus the smaller DRLs or side light bulbs may show up on the dash as fault because they draw less power than the CanBus is used to. This is why you need to get a good quality ERROR FREE Replacement. Hope this helps.
I have a 73 plate Ducato and I only want to change the headlight bulbs. The DRLs are already LED and I’m not too bothered about high beam.
@ijharley68 in that case you shouldn’t have any problems
I'm doing the opposite, going to paint my silver ones black. The silver trim reflects on your windscreen and you have 4 silver squares in view all the time. It distracts you when driving. It's a pain the a**e to be honest.. Hope you fair better..
That’s a good point. You can see them in the screen from time to time but I can live with it 😂
My Ducato has only done 24k miles and I am changing the cambelt, but was going to not bother with the water pump as its hardly had any use and was thinking that the original pump is probably better quality than a new aftermarket one. However, I see your water pump was noticeably stiffer than the new one, yet only done 37k miles. Would you recommend just changing it too?
I fully understand what your saying but while your in there just change the pump it’s much easier now because there’s every chance it could fail before the next cam belt change and it’s the same strip down all over again. It’s also piece of mind.
It’s also not just about the mileage it’s more about the age. Thanks.
Thank you for making this. I'm about to undertake the same job and this video has been invaluable. Like yours, mine is low mileage too - only 24k miles. Its seems ridiculous to be changing the cambelt, but its 5 years old and I'm trying to sell it and its due.
Best be safe than sorry. You’re definitely doing the best thing.
Nice video and thanks for posting. My van came with a spare wheel, however I have had the wheel out a couple of times to inspect. The winch wire is long enough that you can fully pull out the wheel to the rear and disconnect and reconnect without crawling underneath. When the wheel goes back up there is a noticeable click when it is home - my wheel is pulled up under the van rock solid at this point. You can rotate the wheel when it is suspended to make the valve point rearwards to aid checking the pressure at a later date.
I have just fitted the Martech system to my van. Very happy with the product but, as you say, the installation instructions could be massively improved. Thanks for taking the time to make this really helpful video. It made the install much easier.
Thanks mate.
Oi matey ... how did you get your main unit to 20 % and the battery to 52 % ? My unit sits at 100 % while the still new battery , one discharge ...will not go over 16% !! ...or my main unit shut off again at 100 % ! Do you use the Eco flow app ?
Yes I do use the app. Try resetting the units. Disconnect any charging cables ie solar or mains. Push the power button and hold a sec to switch the ecoflow off then push and hold the power button for 20 seconds and the unit will turn it’s self on and off a couple of times and watch the power levels update. Hope that helps.
Check the priority charge settings in your app these will effect how the unit or units charge.

Why’s that?
@@porscheminormechanicsrando8394 The suspense for that answer or deductive reasoning is very exciting, but killing me in the "wait for it" moment. Lol
Pretty much the same with most manufacturers these days we got some new 24 plate evoras from volvo and they are shocking
Wow. Volvos were pretty decent years ago but like you’ve said it’s all cheap and cheerful theses days and getting the lowest co2 emissions readings which is why they drive so badly.
