lol best of the decade when the competition is Fo4 and 76. Like... damn man, that's just really putting into perspective how bad Bethesda is these days. Every game they've put out since Morrowind has been *a little* bit more simplified. A little more lacking. Oblivion got rid of spell crafting, simplified skills (some admittedly for the better) and reduced your total available weapon types. Skyrim simplified alchemy from Oblivion, further simplified skills, and reduced available weapon types again. And while the feel of the basic gameplay loop was often improved, it was at the cost of depth everywhere else in the games. Same thing in the Fallout series. Hell, 4 conflated perks, skill points and stats all into the same system. That's fully 3 systems being simplified into 1, with much less build variety as a result.

Everything you listed sounds like a feature from a past Bethesda title. It was in a bad state for as long as it took to release.

Starfield was dead practically after launch if you like the game thats cool but dont try and convince anyone or yourself that its bethesda best game. That would be skyrim and for more then just being a fan of the game. Remade almost 10 times rereleased over the last decade over and over again and multiple sources that still call it one of the best selling games of all time. Starfield is nothing compared to the old bethesda

The revised systems design for anthem 2.0 was finished, it was canceled when they asked to go into production and Bioware decided to concentrate on the next Dragon Age, so there would be a lot of investment and time still needed.

After playing cyberpunk (started after the final completed updates) Bethesda games feel so out of dated and I don’t just mean graphically. Even Skyrim which I loved I felt was using an outdated game engine

So many people just parrot the opinions of those UA-camrs who only follow the trend. These youtubers just satisfy the confirmation bias of their viewers, which nets an upvote and engagement with the videos of said youtubers. Moneywise it surely is a smart idea to do that, but it's dishonest. The dishonesty is very blatant among even those who make long negative videos about the game. So many features are left out, so many cool things are not even mentioned in those reviews. They only talk about some obvious things that are seen pretty early on and interpret them in a biased and negative way. There's no balance in these "reviews". Fact is, that a significant majority like the game. Here's proof: 61% of reviews on Steam are positive. Which means 0.61-0.39 = 22% more people think the game is good rather than bad. Let's talk some real numbers. There are about ~100k reviews on steam at the moment, which means there are ~22'000 players more who rate the game good rather than bad. If we take another perspective we could also say that those 22% are 0.22/0.39 = ~56% the size of all people who have rated the game negatively. Or in other words, only those people who make the difference in the rating, are more than half the amount of all the bad reviewers together. Another fact: This game had the best launch Bethesda ever had. It's a complete success no matter how much people try to jump on the hate train. Clearly, if you think the game is bad. You are part of a loud minority at this point.

Anthem was fun. But the premo cash in an already full priced pay to play game? 20 dollars for a new "skin" which was just a like a pattern rework for the base skin. 12 dollars for an emote, 8 dollars for a "material" like a knurling pattern on one of the layers of my armor. Anthem didn't get that 2.0 because EA saw how no one wanted to buy a 12 dollar emote that they mandated. So now they just sell you 40 dlc to the sims 4 and you get the expierence of owning a dog or cat! Gameplay was fucking awesome same with the sound design and feeling to each javelin, story was shit and forgettable, the playerbase bullied the developers so they could get a gold item each run which led to the optimized way of running a dungeon was going half way picking up that first chest and leaving. We ruined it, the bosses of this game ruined it for profit, and the devs ruined it by bending over to everyone under the sun and took it straight up the ass. There's a good fucking reason why buying this game now is cheaper than buying a fountain soda and it's a shame, they had gold but it just turned out to be pyrite. Even the warframe devs were pissing on this game because I think they may have been afraid cuz it could have been good competition to warframe but obviously lol NAH! If they do make a sequel free to play game similar to warframe, which I fucking know won't happen, I just want it to be great.

The game was fantastic the issue was its lack of content. It felt great to play was legitimately fun it just hit a wall were there wasnt really anything to do or anything to grind for. If it came out with a big dlc i would come back in a heat beat. That said i would come back for the division one as well. The first was a master piece the setting was incredibly. One of my all time favorites games. Bring those back and bf4 id be the happiest gamer out there

I loved anthem. It had a lot going for it if they kept working on it, and even now there's still really nothing like it else out there. Not destiny, not warframe. Nothing. Unfortunately as much as it deserves better than what it got, I just don't see it getting a resurgence without any development behind it.

tbh they need to make the monetisation model like warframe. Free to play and you can get most or all weapons in the game through gameplay, or buy them if you want to, and then just sell cosmetics. I didn't play on first release but if they went with a FTP model I would give this a proper look.

If you can't understand why they pulled anthem and why the game had so many negative reactions and why it quickly died from gamers perspectives as a whole then why would anyone want to support someone who doesn't understand why it was pulled. This sounds like a great deal of research and facts have not been analyzed to bring forth to put an argument into this case. Therefore just because you want something doesn't mean it's a valid argument for it to be.

Bruh. This game feels empty. And i get that some people say: Well REAL space is also empty, and 99% of planets are uninhabited. But this game is not trying to be realistic. First, you got some magic bullshit so fck "realism" excuse. Second: Just because something is realistic, doesn't mean it's good for gameplay. Starfield is empty af. If some planet have aliens, it has like ONE or two different species, and that's it. How the hell ecosystems works in starfield? This game does not reward exploration, because each planet is exactly the same, with exactly the same textures but in different shades.

Thank you for this video. I feel like I have been looking for a take that isn't braindead sense launch. This games reception has me losing faith in people, and their ability to think critically for themselves.

Fallout 4 does sandbox stuff better than Starfield does. Workshop is leagues better so the looting and shooting gameplay loop feels much better. Fallout’s world is also a lot more interesting. Even if it exists as just a shooting gallery, those galleries in Fallout 4 were at least unique.

I genuinely loved Anthem in spite of it's flaws.

This is the best game EA has published in the last 10 years. It's a shame that these idiots don't give a shit about quality anymore. And Bioware, poor studio crushed by lack of time and money. Simply disgusting. Even more when you know Anthem 2 was on the way at some point to fix all this crap, then got cancelled. Hopefully, Anthem servers will remain online, I hope so because the campaign in coop with friends is simply too good. Also 4 guys raids are fun but I went through them too many times... And I always match with the same guys lol

the game is fallout 4 in space but without the fallout good lore and no worldmap, its extremely repettive and the main story is boring, the combat sucks because every enemy is a bulletsponge just like fallout 4 with legendary enemies, bethesda is lazy, they learned nothing from new vegas and made flallout 4, starfield is an even lazier version of fallout 4 that doesnt even have a worldmap, which is why the bethesda fans couldnt defend it, because this is what everyone liked in their games. The entire game is a grindfest like no mans sky and its borring, having a story instead of not having one is barely and improvement. Id rather play spacebourne 2 than stardfield, yeah its buggy and clunky, but its not finished yet and its made mostly by one man, but hey at least its not fallout 4 in spac.e

I'm in for anything that gives Anthem more attention!
