Welcome to my Outdoors channel!
I am an avid outdoorsman residing in Ontario, Canada. I partake in a wide variety of outdoor/backcountry activities, from hunting to trekking/portaging provincial parks, survivalism & self-sufficiency, exploring crown land and solo adventures with my canid companions Shenzi and Bruin. Working as a Professional Arborist for the last decade, with a diploma in Forestry, I have a unique set of skills oriented around climbing, rope work, and knots. I intended to utilize this channel to share my opinions regarding the products I use, as well as test new ones, techniques and tricks I have learned over the years - and hopefully have some fun learning and sharing all of it with anyone interested enough to tag along!
So thanks for stopping by! Please bear with me as I get this channel rolling, I have some fun things planned for the future - it'll be worth the wait!
Sincerely,
Lumberjack

SALVAGE/SCRAP DIY FORGE | Building a Charcoal Forge
Переглядів 1,6 тис.5 років тому
The next step in my journey to blacksmithing, the body of my forge is now complete! This unit was designed on the fly, imagineered to exact specifications. All the materials were salvaged from scrap that was laying around the shop, at no cost whatsoever. The only expense would be the tools, and some consumables like welding electrodes, cut off discs and paint. I am very happy with the results, ...

DIY Hardwood Charcoal Pt. 2 | Success!...?
Переглядів 1155 років тому
We return to the shop the following morning to check out the results from the previous days "Charcoal Cook". Success! - Kind of. Although there is charcoal in our canister, the wood was only partially converted to carbon. Our return on time invested is low, but that will only improve as we continue to learn and refine the process. All in all, I'd call it a win!

Living that #treelife! Spent the morning clearing some invasive Scotts Pine and Chinese Elm for access to a new shop on my friends property. Arboriculture suffered a great loss recently with the passing of Jaden Anderson. He was on my mind throughout the morning, and like he did I do my best to take in the day, have fun working while staying safe. Tomorrow is not certain, live each day like it'...

BAD CAMPERS - Canada Day Forest Fire! | Crown Land Abuse

It has been very hot and dry here lately, and last weekend was Canada Day. It's a long weekend here, that means lots of people camping in the backcountry, and lots of fires and fireworks. The majority of us are responsible when we're out there, but I decided to check out the aftermath of what it looks like when things get out of control. This is a spot I've hiked through for some time now, and ...

One-Minute Bowline | How to tie a Bowline
The wood shouldn’t be flush with the eye. The pins should be perpendicular with the force on axes and at an angle with mauls and hammers. But most concerning is the face of the head isn’t perpendicular with the handle when you mounted it. Why post if it’s wrong?
Just to get you all riled up.
Very helpful information. Thank you.
I due stump grinding and ground based tree & and land clearing & excavation work an already blew out a pair of Pittsburg Keens and they gave me a credit to replace them - I was looking at these as a bit more HD plus 8” tall for better ankle support & less chips in my boot - 7yrs old vid and still getting views👍🏻
are those parts at 5:55 just to make it fit extra tight?
I'm headed to the hardware store tomorrow to buy an Axe. Just because of this video.
Cool but not useful
If you replace the handle do so with ironwood. Hard to work with, but strong as hell.
Well ya I guess that works, if you’re going for bare minimal effort. ie: it’ll do the trick, but looks like ass
Your mom doesn't hug you enough does she?
Hi! Great review!...I specifically wondered if it had the dual action bars? So thanks for pointing that out! However...as another commenter has mentioned too..the Mossberg Maverick 88 DOES! Have dual action bars too! AND! The 500 Mossberg also does too! :o) Perhaps you could edit the video?..and not misinform folks about these important features? Again! though! I like your video! excellent smooth & clear, and in focus camera work..and nice clear audio as well! You covered this Firearm excellently! ( Other than the dual action bar boo -bo on the Mossbergs ) Thanks! 👍🙂
I know the 500 and some 88s have dual action bars, early 88s did not (I owned an early one.) I do apologize for not articulating things that specifically in the video, however if you and some of the other commenters here did the research first you would realize there is validity in both statements, neither being entirely correct though either. (Yes, the neither/either was intentional.)
Great choice of music. I usually silence vids like this
😂 Fiskars tupit
Can you still buy one with shit freeze on guns laws!?
The problem you're having with that gun is likely due to a weak slide release spring (aka carrier release spring). Replacing it with a considerably stronger spring will likely fix the problem of the shells opening the action after firing. Call the manufacturer and see if they will fix it for free.
Made in 🇹🇷
Is he playing "CLUTCH "?
Nothing beats a wooden handle and normally one doesn’t over strike at least not bad and the wooden handle is perfect plus unless you hang the head you don’t know for certain what the wood really is
Never seen a Maverick 88 with a single slide bar 😅😅
I owned one, they were made that way for a while. Google "Maverick 88 single action bar."
I'm curious why you chose a step wedge rather than the barrel wedges that came with it?
The step wedge just seems to be a better design. I don't think you get much more holding power with the barrel wedges, I've tried both and the end result is the same. Barrel wedges are significantly harder to drive in though.
@@lumberjackoutdoors933that makes sense. I appreciate your response
Nice vid 👍
Put in bucket of water for 72 hours
I LOVE the background music. What is it called and who's it by????
Timber!
I learned a few things from this, even though I was not doing it wrong, sometimes, there’s a better way. Never stop learning.🤓
Nice shotgun, I got one in black. Shot my first Grouse with it last weekend, awesome light weight but powerful weapon for sure.
I love my MAUL AND IT DOESNT HAVE A WOODEN HANDLE
I run 3" slugs with the birdstock on mine with one hand!
I'll take this as a testament to how tough a Fiskars can be. But i still love me a nice shaped piece of hickory for an axe handle.
Is that a Merlin welder? Have you tried to use 7014 rods?
Where’s this location ?
Where is that
Watched this and replicated with remington pest controller and works like a charm. From a long pull to hair trigger, accuracy improved. Thank you for the video.
Just picked one up hours ago $80 Canadian lol and I am have a B of a time welding lol
Hey man is it possible to PM me the general area you are in? I know how to use the crown land map I have been searching for a long time and all I find is swamp and its extremely annoying walking hours through thick woods just to end up in 7 foot swamp. I just wanna shoot a couple times a year.
put some wax on your saw blade, trial fit the axe head, shave handle until you have minimal wood curls. don't be using a metal hammer on wood, use a mallet or hide lump hammer or at least synthetic _bleh !_ headed mallet. good to check handle heel is chamfered, makes it less likely to splinter. All credit to Billy Ray.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR TAKING THE TIME TO GO THROUGH SIGHTING IN YOUR CROSSMAN. IT REALLY HELPED ME A LOT AND NOW I'M RIGHT ON TARGET 85 % OF THE TIME GETTING RID OF GROUND SQUIRRELS THAT HAVE MOVED IN. THE THINNING PROCESS HAS STARTED. THANKS AGAIN
are these AC polarity welders any better than using car batteries?
The music is too loud and I can't hear you talking.
Where can I get that sharping tool, I’ve got me a bigboy silly saw. Not sure what’s good to use
The song 🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🤞🏿🌄
Just curious if you ever got the tree down yet not using the blade…😂😂😂😂😂 I have a broken Ludell plastic fiberglass axe handle sitting in the corner and I just prefer hickory but I try to use the blade My son on the other hand seems to do it your way😅😅
Great Vid!! Oooo goodie... just bought one, my first gun, and now I'm prepping for a sore and bruised shoulder... HAHAHA!!
I’m looking to go target shooting on some crown land and I found some just outside Algonquin, in the district of parry sound, do u now if I’m able to target shoot there, as long as it is general use area it should be fine right?
Wow... just wow.
And no glue or anything is required?
Hey, i was cleaning my f4 when i took off the stock a small half square piece of plastic hit the floor. I heard it so i picked it back up immediately. Now i cant figure out where it fell out of and the rifle is not firing. No, i did not remove anything else.
I'm surprised you didn't just put it in your furnace at low heat to get the wood out
Love way you said clean after yourself! Not lot of guys do it. Feel like i know you from somewhere anyway keep it up! Greetings from Hamilton !
This one's proper name is "hookaroon" even though currently used with "pickaroon" interchangeably. SooLine logging tools were not related to the railroad company which shared the same name. It was a logging tool line by Canadian Logging Tools in St. Catherines, Ontario Canada and later merged with Canadian Warren Pink which also made axes. This hookaroon head was casted as well as peaveys, cants with raised brand name,
