This is a GREAT video. The only other thing is to check is to go to Control Panel-Programs-Turn Windows Features on or off and then turn on or tick SMB 1.0/CIFS File Sharing Support. If this is not ticked, the scan to folder will not work.

It worked. Not at once, but after installing IMB 1.0 on W10 and the 40- or 56- bit encryption setting. Thanks a lot.

Hi Brian, I have a Ricoh MP2851 running on Windows 10 Pro. I had the canner feature work for a long time. It was setup a little different than yours (static IP). Recently my printer stopped scanning to my folder. The printer says it doesn't see my computer... When I ping the printer in cmd, everything works though... I followed your instructions to create a folder and link it up. However, after following all the steps and trying to scan to the new folder, I receive the same error that the printer can't see the location and I am still stuck. Any advice?

Thanks sooo much! My scan to folder worked over the years and stopped working one week ago. Probably when I changed my harddrive. Two things I had to chang: It didn't work without password protection anymore and the networkpath changed. Before the networkpath showed the whole path and now just the computer and the folder (no subfolders inbetween)

Hi there, my scan to email as per this setup stopped working recently. After a scan, I get a message that authentication has failed. I think it could be because my SMTP server now uses two factor authentication, ie it requires a password and pin number. Do you think that this is the problem, and if so, is there a work around?

I had to recreate the folder on the Web UI like you said it just took me a few times to get it.

Sir I have Problem ...when i login in IP address.....after giving user name & password ( Admin )..cannot login giving Error ( Authentication has failed ) so what the reason of not login. I have ( Richo MP C2551 ) So please solve my problem.

Hello Brian and thank you so much of you tutorial, i did not creat the new user, i just creat a folder "scan" but i share my hdd, and too the folder, and i avtivate some option smb 1.0/cifs and direct smb, and i in the firewall i give autorisation of direct smb, and all it s work !!! i did it with tow pc in windows 10 with the same procedures and it s work. thank you a lot off i ll try your tutorial with email cause it s make crazy i try it to do it alone but not work, i ll follow your tutorial i home it s will be work too. i have one question, my ricoh mpc2003 i have a big latence between i order to print and when ricoh start printing, do you know why ?
