This very incredible and "historical" but I think few of the crowd realized that... I 'm quite sad (not offese to Sting, great artist) Peter choose this moment to do what milions of fans waited for so long...

Now I understand why Genesis ended their career with this as the opening to the last song they played live. As Peter Gabriel/Phil Collins/Genesis, damn you UA-cam for not showing me this sooner.

there IS one upside to only getting a few short lines of the song. we didn't have to witness Sting ruin it too much.

riiiight. brilliant song. but this particular, brief snippet they decided to perform have anything to do with them not approving of the plebs voting for brexit, would it? 😁 i've seen other clips with Sting banging on about it 😆

As many others may feel, this is bittersweet, as it appears he’s putting his Genesis work to bed for himself, creating a sense of closure.

Had no idea he did this, thought it was only Sting that sang the intro. Wish Gabriel played this on the current I/O tour, even if just the intro part. This or another Genesis number would've been a nice little nod to the past

Imagine if he did the Lamb reunion tour with Genesis in 2007. After finishing the whole Lamb setlist, they bow to crowd and go backstage, crowd goes bonkers doing the "We want more" thing, they go back on stage. Encore 1: Watcher Of The Skies, The Musical Box, The Knife. All in its entirety. They bow again, go backstage, crowd going even more insane, they go back out. Encore 2: Dancing With The Moonlit Knight, I Know What I Like. All in its entirety. Everybody can die in peace. Imagine.

It’s my dream to see Peter to perform some songs from Genesis again❤, considering that maybe this year’s tour maybe his last tour and I think I will cry during the concert.

So beautiful, would be cool if he revisited other Genesis songs in a style more suited to his current voice

Although Phil Collins did a sterling job in carrying on in Gabriel's shoes, Genesis were never really quite the same after PG left. . One could argue the same with the split of Pink Floyd. Or Yes... Or Supertramp. . Gabriel's voice was quintessentially English - Garden of England in fact. No one has come as close, not even FIsh.... And this very brief expose was chilling, yet lovely to behold. . Such a dear, dear man - Peter Gabriel.

Compaesano chitarrista Claudio bruno poi clemente Ferrari e Piero monterisi alla batteria. E alle tastiere effetti Sint. Un altro componente che non ricordo. E questo brano è stato suonato un po meglio di questo che ho ascoltato qui nel video. Poiché sento molti suoni assordanti. Un leggero caos nel insieme. Comunque tutti belli i suoi brani. Lo seguo ancora oggi max gazze e lo conosciuto anni fa in Puglia. Strigendoli le mani.. Una esperienza unika.. Per me... Grande max. 🙋‍♂️❣️ Agosto 10 2022

Damn shame that 99% of the audience had NO idea what they were witnessing.

Good God that sounds so gorgeous. Imagine all of the places he could take his beautiful, epic vocal melodies from Genesis days. Anyone familiar with their first album Trespass? A song like Dusk, or Stagnation... even all the way up to "The Lamb..." with songs like Cuckoo Cocoon, Fly On A Windshield, The Lamia (maybe have to down tune that one a step but damn its well suited for his raspy older voice). I hope he considers revisiting something like that at least once, but what I'd really like is a tour with new stuff, 1 from each album, and a few Genesis selections. Most of the members have never said "No" outright to a reunion with Peter, including Peter. In interviews, it's usually left at "maybe/probably not but who knows", so it kind of feels like 2 or 3 songs on one of his last tours isn't a big ask as a fan. He doesn't have to hit the high notes. I mean listen to this. Just such a textural, unique sound. fuck sake

I have watched this video more than than ten times. I have dreamed all my life after his departure from Genesis, to hear his more educated voice singing one of the Genesis classics. I wish he would be invited by Hacket to one of his Genesis revisited concerts to perform at least a couple of songs.

Ho avuto la fortuna di vedere Max al Velvet di Rimini in uno degli ultimi concerti prima che demolissero quello storico locale... Lo avevo visto già molte volte, e conoscendo la sua discografia quando ha annunciato sul palco che avrebbero suonato alcuni brani di Contro un'onda del mare mi sono commosso e me le sono cantate tutte, mentre intorno a me vedevo la maggior parte del pubblico non conoscere questi splendidi pezzi. Sarebbe fantastico se nel 2023, per i 25 anni de La favola di Adamo ed Eva facesse un tour con tutti i brani dei primi due album
