Tennessee is similar. Wife and I live in Colorado. Purchased our house in 2007 for 137k. Because of the rising market here and the legalization in 2010 and the subsequent flood of people moving here, our house is now appraising at 506k. We found 8 acres with a large pond and a 4 bedroom 2 story for 285k about 45 minutes from Nashville. That is a no brainer. Whereever we move, we will not bring BS to your state. We are Normal folks.

My parents and I owned houses next door to each other in Washington state, we sold both 840 square foot houses on 5000 square foot lots for 300k each, we bought 8 acres with 4 houses 1500sf, 1100sf, 900sf and 600sf in east Texas for… 165k paying the same amount on taxes. There is a big difference between living in a Democrat state and a Republican state, so thankful to be back in Texas after 40 years of living on the west coast cesspool of degradation.
