Regarding the NSA ad and the question of when is it okay to cuss: "Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers." Eph. 4:29 Gesturing unwholesome words is the same thing as saying them, and God's Word is clear on this matter. As another commenter here expressed, if they want to attract young men with the fire of God's calling to NSA, a humble heart and display of repentance instead of doubling down on their sin would go a long way. Do you really want your future leaders to get it wrong on something so obvious? Do you want to be the ones responsible for leading them into sin?

Men who have to curse and use vulgar profanity to get a point across are effeminate so in my mind the ad had the opposite effect

I am 100% with Michael on this one. I think they crossed the line and I think it’s more manly for them to be humble and repent than it is for them to continue trying to defend it and if what they want is true men then they should be exemplifying men who know when it’s time to be humble and repent

One reason I find that symbol inappropriate for a Christian is because it is a symbol of rebellion. That means you are rebelling against an assumed authority. But as a Christian, the world and its idols hold no authority because Christ is King! We are the ambassadors and soldiers of the Highest Authority in Heaven and Earth. Christ's Church will storm the gates of Hell. We are more than conquerers through Christ. So, why would the victors be flipping off the losers? They hold no authority for us to rebel against. Therefore, for a Christian to use that gesture would simply degrade it to its most vulgar, sexually violent meaning. There is no place for rude gestures from joint heirs of the King of Kings.

Reminds me of the alcohol debate. Baptists in America became soo concerned with not getting drunk that all alcohol became sin. Then I saw my father not wanting to go to brothers wedding because wine would be served. I began to think, wait a minute... Didn't Jesus turn water into wine at a wedding? Pretty soon our piety becomes too pure for the Bible's own language and themes.

I was of the same view like brother Michael. I loved the NSA ad up until the Johnny Cash part which made me cringe a little bit. I think it was a chess blunder on their part. But I would still send my sons to NSA right away.

My answer to the question about religious pluralism is that Freemasonry in particular cannot licitly be tolerated, because it usurps the prerogative of public authority in the administration of promissory oaths and is on this account seditious. Sharia councils are innocuous only to the extent that they function as arbitral bodies in matters lawfully settled out of court. But in so far as they claim the public power of ruling proper to ministers of God, with the consequent obligation of obedience, they are at least seditious. As soon as the Muslim community claims the use of force as it's own resource for the enforcement of Islamic law, it ceases to be a religious community and becomes instead a political and belligerent community engaging the law of treason. In what concerns the suppression of homosexuality, it may be more important to supress the heresy of homosexualism and to impose the severest penalties on those who persist in maintaining it.

What the bloody hell are you on about

Some years ago it was pointed out to me that the posture of a tongue sticking out historically indicates demonic possession. Once you see something, it cannot be unseen. Once you know something, it may be forgotten, but it is never again unknown. It is only the transforming grace of God that can deliver from this kind of demonic cult. Our focus needs to be on inoculating the little children by introducing them to Jesus. Children’s Ministry and Discipleship needs to be our priority in the Body of Christ. The communists know it. The Queer Cultists know it. The enemy of our souls knows it. Protect the little children so that they may know Jesus and the power of His resurrection. They will lead their parents to Him.

You quote Spurgeon a preacher who never failed to preach the gospel of salvation to the unconverted gathered with the saints. Those saints were not short changed by Mr Spurgeon spending time addressing the lost during the Sunday worship services. On the contrary they were blessed. Saints need to hear the gospel of salvation as well. Yes all christians must witness but preaching by a man called to preach is the primary means God chooses to use for salvation. (Romans 10 v 14+15
