This chick doing the interview was a total goon. She didn't deserve to be in the same room with any of them.

Did have finger tips a bit black only if the guitar was not played for 6 weeks. But not AS BLACK like his. Wow! His fingers seemed to be wrapped in tape too

from a very young age I remember hearing my dad play Stevie Ray in the house and on the record player and he just spoke of the dude like he was a god. Now looking back at 19, playing guitar myself, hearing this version of riviera paradise and knowing it was the last time he ever played it Just gives me chills every single time. Some of, if not, the smoothest guitar playing you will ever hear. Without a doubt in my mind the greatest guitar player to ever live. The guitar was second nature to Stevie and it feels like it was just another part of his body, truly an icon. Rest in paradise Stevie Ray Vaughan.

So he did it again but its no-where to be found. His later career has been hugely ignored by his estate. No live release from the In Step tour at all. lots of bootlegs yes but nothing good. bizarre.

I was in Austin today, and paid Stevie’s statue a visit. I can’t believe it’s been 34 years already. I still remember my mom coming outside while I was playing street football to tell me that she’d heard on the news that we’d lost him. None of my peckerhead friends understood why I broke into tears.

I remember my dad RIP Captain, he watched this way way back when I was in school. He confirmed that John Hammond was the man seeking out Robert Johnson to play In NYC so the world would know who he was. They went to find him to bring him up to NYC and found out he was dead just three days before they got there. The whole thong blew me away. One that my dad was that cool and I never knew it Two I didn't know what a serious career John Hammond so many blues artists. Then I heard some of his radio spots from the 1940s and further blown away. Hammond had to be the coolest white guy ever. His son plays a nice acoustic too.

Albert King hardly even complimented Stevie - he was jealous, and it was obvious. King was “ok” of a guitar player - he had his own style - big deal - it wasn’t anything ground breaking, kind of boring IMO. I’ve seen quotes from interviews with King where he was the same way with Hendrix. I guess he knew he was a “has been”, and getting old and on his way out of this world - grumpy old man
