This Is My Theatre return to Sherwood Forest on Thursday 27th June 2024 to perform their adaptation of L. Frank Baum's story and Hollywood classic The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

The waxwing irruption of this winter has swung into Budby South Forest today, with this group making themselves very much at home as the sun began to set over the heathland.

ITV Central News visited us on 17th December 2023 to see the Sheriff of Nottingham granting freedom to Robin and his outlaws for the 12 days of Christmas.

We carry out regular health checks on the Major Oak and the hundreds of other ancient oaks in Sherwood Forest. We took the opportunity this summer to go not just above the canopy of this incredible tree, but inside it too.

This video, shot at RSPB Sherwood Forest in June 2023, provides a fascinating glimpse of the behaviour of this distinctive invertebrate, whose name is taken from the scorpion-like tail. It is commonly found on nettles and brambles in gardens and woodland edges.

The brilliant (and terrifying) Whitby Krampus Run descended upon Sherwood Forest in January 2022. Fortunately, the Sheriff of Nottingham, the Green Man, the Lady Bay Revellers and hundreds of visitors were on hand to lead the wassailing ceremony, toasting the health of the Forest for the year ahead and casting the krampusen from the Forest...for now.
