I have never belonged anywhere even in the outcast groups. Even with my hobbies and my beliefs. I gave up because it’s too draining to keep masking the fact that I’m just not like everyone else. And I don’t mean this in an arrogant way, it’s painful to live like this. My parents failed me since day one. I have chronic CPtSD and anxiety. I’ve tried just about everything and everytime I put myself out there I get rammed down no matter what. So at 32, no family, no friends, no partner, I give up and I’m just waiting to die. I hate this world and I hate how many people can have so many others there for them that they don’t appreciate kindness as much as someone who has no one. Today at work I watched one of my colleague who’s leaving get all this loved doted on her. And for the first time ever, I felt myself being envious and it was hard to hide. No one cares about me and I’m it hurts to love life where you see everyone else being loved, supported, and cared for and people jay simply dislike you for existing.

Honestly, I haven’t even been able to find a therapist who can attune to me/mirror me. When not even the “professionals” can understand me….it’s a pretty hopeless place to be. This video has been the only one I’ve found so far that seems to accurately capture the experience

I am going thought, not belonging for 34 years now 1998 to 2024 i am 53, i have reach out to 100 ladies over a 34 year period of time, to get a girl friend, every one of them, tell me (1) they don't like what they see...i am slim build, 5,6, weight 130 pounds, looking at church and in food store and in my neighborhood...(2) ladies don't like me because, I am not muscular in the upper body and arms (3) in the face, they think, i look like a bad guy in the movies, they said : you look like a bad guy , you must be a bad guy......How can I find a girlfriend ?________i have no friends....George

Problem is that I never made sense of society, the education system, religion, sports follower culture... It was always present from the start. I could not make sense of life and I stil can't 40 years later. I have no idea why I was given this outcome in life but it has been pretty shit seeing everyone else doing better than you, getting married, having kids... and you are on the sidelines... It is horrible.

Ya, the archaic gender roles most of the world have been living by has caused a lot of imbalance and strife. The world needs more teachings like this, and less of these modern dating gurus pitting men and woman against each other. I started this realization and you verbalized it and made it complete for me.. i hate that like you mentioned at the end, this doesn’t just apply to mansplaining, it applies to the mass rise of narcissistic men which I actually think essentially these men just have unmet emotional needs and they ruin womens lives sometimes unintentionally with their maladaptive behavior in relationships with women and not every other guy is a narc they just cannot develop properly in their own emotional behavior (like you said emotionally integrate/self-actualize). Emotional work is difficult and can get expensive, in the US so I’ll give them that but a lot of women are opting to stay single instead for this reason so some men kind of have no choice. Women are psychologically evolving and learning heathy ways to meet their own needs and some are doing the work on themselves like learning to implement boundaries and emotionally regulate as a result that’s my hunch.
