Good, important documentary. But I was disappointed by your pessimistic closing line that Florida's invasive species are here to stay. I hope that's not the case, but the key to avoiding (or minimizing) that outcome is public education.

Lessen restrictive gun laws, exspecially on dispatching invassive species. Allow people to shoot invassive animals when ever, and where ever. If we are serious about needing to get rid of invassive species, then this is a no brainer. Otherwise, just shut up and stop complaining about it.

Using the animals skin, meat for certain invasive species can help . Snakeheads Tagus Burmese pythons Peacocks Lionfish Iguanas . Zebra mussles Nile crocdiles , nile monitors and others can also be given to places like a zoo. Another way is use the animals skins and stuff responsibly . Tagus and burmese pythons . Snakeheads also have a pretty pattern .

Not too mention all the freshwater fish species that have taken over like the Peacock bass. The pythons have decimated the Everglades, the place which used to teem with small mammals is now silent at night. Not UA-cam friendly, but people have taken to fixing the problem themselves with machetes when they see one. Pythons are evasive but fairly easy to kill when you see one.

So lion-fish are edible, yet poisonous? What parts? The spines? Are they completely safe to eat?

It's a bad thing to bring an animal from a foreign place to another in the world.. It's sin and a crime against NATURE.... Stupid people are the PROBLEM

I live in north fl and there were peacocks around my old house. It makes sense that they are invasive birds but it seems like they were so normal to be there.

Iguanas, parrots and monkeys make Florida tropical and iconic, a lot of exaggeration is spread to brainwash, some fluidity is expected and many so called natives species are not if look them up. Pets have caused more damage. It’s mainly big corps that would lose millions that complain or privileged folks obsessed with their gardens. A good rule is if they can survive it is meant to be.

i was an Invasive Exotic trapper for 10 years in South Florida...i got paid to humanely trap (no kill) tegus, iguanas, peacocks, marine toads, pythons, etc..and then I'd sell them to exotic animal dealers/shops/wholesalers/importers out of State. I made MAD $$$$ !!

I don’t say this to be cruel but if they are invasive they don’t belong and are destroying the ecosystem So they need to be eliminated in a humane way as they are doing with the pythons.

G.K. perhaps the pythons will eat the Tegus. Then we can harvest the Pythons. Taste like chicken. I heard that Snake head fish taste good. If they got as far North as Wisconsin or Minnesota, the Pike, Musky, and Flathead Catfish might keep them in check.
