What you posted HAS to be what you heard...because that ISN'T what happened AT ALL. That is a disgusting, insulting statement to everyone who responded to Mr. Steele's crash that March 25th...totally untrue. Shame on you!

All this time, i thought it was Tim Steele. Apologies, to Tim and Dave Steele. Rest, In Peace, DAVE Steele. As for the Announcer: "Faster", does not mean "Better." Not always. Perhaps, not ever.
Earnhardt’s crash looked super serious. Check out the non-broadcast camera angles that weren’t moving with the cars so you could actually get a sense of how fast he drove up the race track head-on into the wall
@@bwfextreme Really don't care to debate his very likely preventable Death. Seems you have your opinion, and I have mine. Guess it's a matter of perception ? But thanks for sharing ! 👍😉

@Sleeve Then we are about the same age. The agony of defeat on ABC Wide World of Sports. The skier crashing during that intro is embedded into my memory..lol
Wait....we're talking about the black car, right?? It looked like he barely touched the wall. Sure he didn't have a med issue after being spun out just before the wall??
suggestion: google a pic of the 33, look at the left rear wheel. You should notice that it is about 10-12 inches deep. From the whiplash from the nose hitting the wall, that wheel was smashed flat against the hub, with zero driver containment on the left side. His medical issue came from helmet contact with steel reinforced concrete.
I really enjoy dirt track racing it's full of thrills and spills but damn those sprint car racers are risking alot strapping into those tiny V8 powered death traps. RIP Mr. Steele
One of the best ever at this game...he was always so smooth..he must have got swatted by another couple cars battling for position...RIP Dave Steele...
I agree with a couple of other comments. I don't believe this was his fatal crash. His fatal crash occurred when he was passing lap cars. This was the first lap. I don't think this is it.
trust me on this one mr. bullwood. mr steele's signature move was to jump three wide and pass 3 or 4 rows of cars. Sport allen tries to enter turn one in the second groove and a car dives underneath him. Sport starts to move up to miss the idiot and contact with mr steele is made. It took me about 30 seconds to run from the flagstand to turn 1, and Mr. Steele was gone when I got there.
next time you see a pic of him standing next to his car. The left rear wheel was mashed flat to the hub. ZERO driver containment to the left...structurally or seat.
Wow! Didn't look that bad. Something unusual must have happened. Failed safety gear or something. Sad day. Great racer gone too soon. The only thing I can say is, and I know it's cliche but it's still true, he was doing something he loved. He's probably up there wishing if it had to happen why couldn't it happen at the end of the race instead of the start.
Bet all twenty fans felt guilty once they found out the guy had died. After all, as the announcer said, they were doing it for them. Not for money, glory, a career or fun, but for them.
I don't think they race for the fans. I think they drive these cars because it is a gas! Thrilling beyond description. Punching the old E ticket, an adrenaline rush like you can't believe. They do it for fun, whether anybody is watching or not.
@Revelian1982 Don't be a turd. Did I say the announcer was lying? Are not I entitled to an opinion? In my opinion, racers race because it's fun. It's a thrill. It's an adrenaline rush. Whether it's 100 people watching or 100,000. Or nobody at all for that matter. I know this because a long time ago I used to be one.
I believe this was one of the last real races at the track and it was later sold to some clown who puts on some sort of stupid crash derby’s there now.
You have no clue. Garrett Mitchell aka cleetus Mcfarland saved Desoto.. it's now the freedom factory. Him and his crew put alot of time and money into reviving it. Without him it would have been another lost short track.
This reminds me of Big E’s crash. You can watch it over and over and still not be able to make sense of it. Godspeed Dave, thanks for your sacrifice for my entertainment.
Connection terminated. I'm sorry to interrupt you, Elizabeth. If you still even remember that name. But I'm afraid you've been misinformed. You are not here to receive a gift. Nor, have you been called here by the individual you assume. Although, you have indeed been called. You have all been called here. Into a labyrinth of sounds and smells, misdirection and misfortune. A labyrinth with no exit. A maze with no prize. You don't even realize that you are trapped. Your lust of blood has driven you in endless circles. Chasing the cries of children in some unseen chamber, always seeming so near. But, you will never find them. None of you will. This is where your story ends. And to you, my brave volunteer, who somehow found this job listing not intended for you. Although, there was a way out planned for you, I have a feeling that's not what you want. I have a feeling that you are right where you want to be. I am remaining as well. I am nearby. This place will not be remembered and the memory of everything that started this, can finally begin to fade away. As the agony of every tragedy should. And to you monsters trapped in the corridors. Be still. And give up your spirits. They don't belong to you. As for most of you, I believe there is peace and perhaps, warm, waiting for you after the smoke clears. Although, for one of you, the darkest pit of Hell has opened to swallow you whole. So, don't keep the Devil waiting, friend. My daughter, if you can hear me, I knew you would return as well. It's in your nature to protect the innocent. I'm sorry that on that day, the day you were shut out and left to die, no one was there to lift you up in their arms, the way you lifted others into yours. And then, what became of you, I should have known, you wouldn't be content to disappear. Not my daughter. I couldn't save you then. So, let me save you now. It's time to rest, for you, and for those you have carried in your arms... This ends. For all of us. End Communication.

It doesn't take much just a move the wrong way
I saw Rich Voglers accident, it wasn't pretty.
They just let him sit there. No tow truck, fire crew, ambulance, etc.. not even one staff member went over to check if he was ok. Disgusting!

The absolute dumbest type of racecar these are!! Why anyone would be so insane to get behind the wheel of one of these??
Nope. Look at a NASCAR late model. That’s coming from a NASCAR fan
why would anyone jump from an airplane, bunjee jump etc...they like to get high without drugs
