    .The "Israeli Technique" was the result of a widely disparate range of handguns distributed to a very young army with no time to properly train. It's dumb. Israeli courage and military innovation are unquestionable. Their actual skill with small arms is nothing special. Don't carry a gun without a round in the chamber. Don't carry a Glock with no holster.

    Thank you for posting this. Situations vary and every gun owner must decide for themselves what manner of carry is best for them, based on their unique situations. Ive been carrying this way for years and I let my situational awareness direct me to put one in battery when the time is right. Other than that, I tend to hear some saying "what if" in order to hypothetically propose a scenarion where I would be wrong. All I have to say to that is: “What if” is the most useless statement in the world. It can be followed by the most outrageous statement or more often, a seemingly reasonable, subtle basis to prove a pseudo-theory. Unless there is a tentative connection to reality, it is just a suggestion. Many people start with a suggestion like that and then use it as a basis to argue what the consequences could be.

    I’ve carried an ASP Defender for about 24 years and can vouch for its reliability and effectiveness. Rugged dispenser made of aerospace grade aluminum with no parts to break or fail. It also doubles as a kubotan/key flail. The OC used in the insert is nasty. It not only affects vision but also the respiratory system causing gagging, coughing and loss of breath sensation. A 1/2 second shot from the smaller palm defender (now called D1 Defender) put me out of commission for about 30 minutes. ASP also now has a polymer Sport Defender that has same functionality but is lighter in weight. Looks like a great class that demonstrates the importance of training with OC spray.

    Yeah, this is really disturbing, it shows us how little the industry actually cares. They sell you this gear as basically "essential", then provide precious little about the critical question of zeroing your gun with this "essential" gear. 😡

    Once had an acquaintance come to my home in a panic. Moving he picked up his 30/30 and it went off spitting his bluejeans starting at the knee all the way down his calf splitting his shoe and cutting a groove in his ankle. His gun did not go off by itself nor did he say it did. He picked it up off safe with his finger on the trigger. You dont get luckier than he did. After a duck hunt I dropped my 1100 3 ".It hit the ground on stock but with me looking down at the muzzle. Thankfully Im able to tell of my mistake. Thank you Remington. Guns dont go off untill we make them. They dont make mistakes , we do. Be careful.

    Why not use the slide catch for both? If your practice includes locking it open, why not use it for closing?🤷🏻‍♂️ some gun manuals say to use the catch for chambering a round. On your rifle do you use the charging handle or the bolt release? Oh I'm so confused hahah just kidding, but for real I thinks its all about whats most comfortable and safe for the user. Thanks for your video

    My M17 mag is stiff as fuck because it’s basically brand new, and I’m having a hell of a time getting the 21st and final round into the mag lmfao Edit: I just decided to use my head, and stuck the mag into the gun with only 20 rounds in it. I then chambered a round, and replaced the round I just chambered by putting another one in the mag lol Edit again: I ended up just muscling it in.

      @@jblz86 How? In what universe is loading a round into the chamber dangerous? That’s what it’s for. I’m not a fool, I know proper gun safety. And I ended up just muscling it into the mag after I wrote this anyways.

    • @Wasattsi
      @Wasattsi 2 місяці тому

      @@lulkd800 Yeah. The newer the mag, the stiffer the spring, therefore it’ll be harder to load a large amount of rounds into them at the start. Although with a moderate amount of muscle, it’s possible. I got it after a while.

    Just now seeing this in Feb. 2023, over 5 1/2 years later. The Sig P329 I'm shooting was purchased ~2009 based on me being a noob and reading a magazine article that the FBI carried it. I wanted it for home defense, but also with potential to carry in case the ongoing financial collapse turned to pandemonium. Chambered in the FBI's 0.40 S&W, the mag on this gun is only 7 rounds. What caliber were you shooting, Brian? lil baby 9? If holding ourselves to the FBI at the time, shouldn't we be shooting the same round and size gun? Trying to justify my poor accuracy. Well, now they are shooting 9mm, and I exceeded 90% on Tom Given's Advanced Instructor qualification Jan 2021, after he redesigned the FBI qual (which has an 80% pass rate). Other critiques of myself that stand out here and I've since fixed in multiple CCW credential courses would be: 1) thrusting the pelvis forward when accessing and holstering in order to reduce risk of pointing it at my body 2) Unless I'm moving to cover first, I've eliminated the feet shuffling; I'm getting better at accessing while moving, but my current assumption and action is it's better to just get the gun out ASAP without any added difficulty of the holster shifting while squatting, stepping, etc. 3) The gun now moves much less due to trying various grips in classes with the biggest names in the biz. Other impressions of this video are an appreciation for how nice and peaceful (despite the noise and practicing violent defense) that range at Coyote Valley is, how having access to that open range permitted us both to progress faster than those who only have access to highly supervised, bench and lane ranges, and also that having a shooting partner is also a major benefit for the same reasons a workout partner is. Even if our skill here in 2017 is not envious, I'm sure many of the viewers would agree we are lucky to have echother as dedicated training partners and loyal friends. We are lucky to have crossed paths and committed to help eachother along the path of warriorship.
