1929 Ford Model A - Grease On The Clutch?
Getting grease on the clutch can cause Clutch Chatter. Oops! Let's see if I can get the grease out of there and avoid clutch chatter. Also, I'm using Red and Tacky grease instead of white lithium grease now. Thanks for watching!

    Take cover off & try & get brake cleaner spray in on clutch with motor slowly running. Model A & early V8s are prone to this & Ford installed an anti chatter bar from 1932 with varying success. I find by releasing clutch at slow revs with spark retarded minimises the problem. As stated, chatter is felt [& heard] at release, not really whilst driving. Nice Tudor.

    OK, don't laugh, true story. I had a guy do what you did, you're not the first. Got laundry detergent and hot water and filled the bell housing. Tape up the cotter key on the bottom. Started the car, looked like a washing machine. Ran about 20 minutes. A lot leaked out, but what was left we got with a wet dry vac. Didn't hurt the starter. It worked, never chattered again. Sounds nuts, but true. BTW, this was his idea.

    • @quailstudios
      @quailstudios 10 днів тому

      Because a properly set up Zenith is better than a Tollotson. My car runs better now. It idles at a slower speed very nicely. It has not given me any trouble in the 500 miles since I put the Zenith on. My mileage is better. Of course, your experience or opinion may be different than mine. The Model A's came with a Zenith. It was designed especially for the car. We could go into technicalities perhaps in another video.

    If the clutch chatters, you will feel it more than you will hear it. It only chatters when you are letting the clutch pedal out, usually in first. I got oil on the clutch once in my 1940 Ford (stock). You could feel it right away and it was awful. I had to pull the rear end and transmission out, clean everything, install a new disc, and put it all back together. Beautiful, clean, gorgeous Model A sir!

    That's a huge tractor!! We have a BX1830 Kabota 1990 something for my three acres in this hill and it has earned it's keep a couple times. We keep losing air in the right front tire because of the torc on it when we're in 4x4 or picking up big with the bucket. We've learned it's not a big guy like that so if we take it easy it's good.

    M ‘31 Tudor came with the yellow as the brake light and the red as the running light. I did the opposite- I changed them to make the red act as the stop light, since most drivers associate red with stop.

    You can fix those cars because you get used (know) to it. These new cars, electric or not. Nowadays they have computer control it. That part, you can't do anything. Other parts, it's the same with your Camery. For this car (or other electric car), it has a (huge) battery that runs the motor witch runs the wheels (controlled by the pedal). Like the power window on your other car. You push the button, and it goes up or down as your comments. There is nothing to be broken. There are no engine nor cooling systems, exhaust system, oil pump, alternator/electric system (spare plugs), and you don't even have a catalic converter to beware. The rest is the same with your most modern car. Nothing different, they function the same even uae power from the 12v battery that you see under the hood. Actually, it has fewer systems to be broken down.

What's to do wrong? less than half as many parts as ICE cars. So don't even mention EV repairs. Its quiet-I love solitude and peace. Its like a jackrabbit off the line so if you need to avoid a collision, punch the accelerator and presto, collision avoidance. $7500 credit off the purchase price thanks to tax breaks that we all get in one form or another.
