I’d never heard of TNs until one popped up on my UA-cam timeline early last week. After I’d watched that video, the algorithms did their thing and other TN videos appeared and I watched those too. Ive seen the beautiful artwork some do in theirs, and I’ve seen others using them without embellishment. . By Friday I was completely hooked and ordered one. It arrived on Saturday, so I’ve had mine now for nearly a week. I’ve used various notebooks in the past, and have a Filofax, but this is somehow so much different to any other notebook system I’ve tried. I admit at the point I’m still quite obsessed with it 😀

I absolutely have an obsession with buying notebooks. I changed from A5 to standard travelers notebook size but I can’t bring myself to give them away in case I want to move back into them. Ugh! 😊

It took two years of low buys, but I’ve used ALLLL my notebooks, have cut my sticker collection down 7/8th of the size, and my washi tape is in one desk compartment.

Thanks for sharing. I like the idea of a treasure box of notebooks. I split my notebooks between Leuchturm, Hobonichi, Midori, and Archer&Olive. Oh, and field notes too.

I have way too many alpica b5 notebooks. I bought so many while I was going back to school and I barely ended up filling majority of them with less than 10-15 pages of notes in 32 pages. Also I now find the size too big to carry. Also I like the loose paper where I can build binders in topics and just transfer them to that. I currently daily carry marurman memo notepads for pocket carry(found them at daiso for 1.75 each) and I like the balance it has for paper quality and price right now, but I may have to change if I start daily carrying a fountain pen.

I have way too many notebooks. I have given some away via my Instagram every once in a while in random drawings. I have also given some away with fountain pens.

Lately I've been buying the 3 pack of pocket notebooks from Pen & Gear for $1.12. They are great on the budget however, they only come lined that I know of. A tad but smaller than field notes as well. Perfect for the pocket and budget though!

I own the same A5 Malden. The leather and quality is incredible. The FiloFax sits next to my computer for personal use.

One word. Plotter USA notebooks

Buy cheap plastic 6 ring binders to store old notes from a ring system. I hate writing on the backs of the pages when my hand hits the rings, though. I also 3D printed a page with holes as a backing to support the pages.

I agree with the decoration comment. Whenever I look something up that has to do with planning or a notebook all I get are videos of notebooks overflowing with papers, receipts, stickers, markers, and other attachments. There’s nothing wrong with that but I rarely see a video of someone having a simple no-nonsense approach and treat these things as a simple tool.

Another man using TNs. I've been using a passport as my wallet and my catch-all for about 18 months. I use a paper-republic xl TN for my planner and where I write all my notes for sermons I am preparing. I'd consider using the standard size if it was wider, or at least closer to an A5 width

I have all standard colors and I must say that the camel is my favorite. I love the texture and the color is just amazing. I did the duct tape hack with the olive and the blue TNs to give them a more vintage look, but I wouldn't dare to do the same on the camel TN. I hope you enjoy your new TN! Cheers!

Hi, really enjoying your videos. As a man, it’s good to see other guys into stationery, I thought for a while it was mainly for women as it’s the majority of content are female oriented. I started off with a travelers notebook and really enjoyed it, but then I got the Bible plotter and it’s the best! Being able to move stuff around is a big plus. I now keep my pocket size TN for ideas and quotes, but the Bible is for everything else. Highly recommended.

This is why I love the Filofax Notebooks so much! Slimmer, it does have less functionality with less pokets, no loops etc., but still maintains the versatility of rings (plus the wire is smaller in diameter) and no need to unsnap/snap the rings closed. Really good if you plan just to write in and don't have too many add-ons and added bulk like dashboards, scrapbooking etc.

Agree. There is always a price we pay for being able to re-arrange sheets here and there. I think it’s essentially up to individual preferences, and for me, my brain works better with slim rings for organization purposes. But for journaling, I think TN seems superb!

This is so true! I bought a black Metropol in the Personal size thinking that I'd stick with just this one for my daily planning. But I also wanted to try the A5 size, so I then got a black Finsbury in A5. But then I saw a nice deal on a purple Malden in A5, and then a beautiful a black Chameleon Personal. I then found out about the Deskfax size and kept my eye out for one of those, getting a black Richmond Deskfax. I am now waiting for my lavender/purple Piazza Pocket. I bought them all second-hand on online market places. I also made my own Personal organiser (I have a video showing this on my channel) and bought some unbranded/less-well-known brand ones for their ring systems (if the cover had deteriorated so I wouldn't be destroying a perfectly-good item). I have ideas to make a couple more organisers myself. Thanks for sharing your insights! It's really nice to see other fans :).
