IT'S TIME! Let's turbo the Honda K24 powered Toyota Camry PT1
Переглядів 534Місяць тому
It has been a wonderful daily for the last 6 months, but it is finally time to add a little spice to the k24 camry, in the form of a big turbo! But before the turbo gets mounted, we need something to mount it to.. so in this episode we build a custom steam pipe turbo manifold. I'll admit I'm no Harry Potter fan. But I did laugh out loud at 42:44. So well timed 😂
I'm glad you liked it! I walked back through the place to film it 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hey mate. How far did you get with the conversion before you sold it
This video was pretty much it unfortunately
What a beautiful car to start with ❤
That was fun!
could you use these to open the doors? Do they have enough tension to do that if you have time could you do a video. Cheers
I don't think they would be strong enough sorry mate
53:16 dual rear wiper 🤤
12:46 Z20 grille is awesome

I'm just imagining jeff and emily walking around the harry potter place being like "it's not guy-oh-zuh it's gee-oh-zarr" (gyoza) like hermione with leviosa
Hahahaha not bad 😅
Amazing
Hi, I'm planning to buy an Isuzu, I see it has a diesel engine, if you can tell me what the fuel consumption is and how far you've traveled so far Tadeusz
Hey mate about 15L per 100km around town and as bad as 25L per 100km when towing on the highway
Thank you
Points for a xc with electronic ignition system 😂
Looks awesome mate 👌
new wheels look mad, love that car...👌I need some new lips/barrels to use my WEDS but not sure where to go to get them sorted.. so ill likely go steelies..
Thanks mate You can buy most of your wheel needs through pine engineering in nz if you get stuck :)
Your lucky it's not full of rust huge problem with that model Fuck the automatic out and put a new 650 tubbull pumper I had a xb 76 Ute a it was fast 15 seconds down the qutermile out of a 302
I love this little car. 👌🏿
Thanks mate ! :)
I like the Star of David wheels best and how apt for the times but as long as the Corrolla HAS wheels is a bonus.
Wheela look sweet, so glad you've kept this. When engineering with a cranky 5k? Or injected 4k with those awesome intake runners. Also when KE25? Have you ever done a vid on the 25?
Maybe a stock efi 7k, not sure yet, that's why it's sitting ahha Yeah few ke25 videos long ago :)
I had a light metallic green VK Berlina which I bought in the late 90's. Those engine belts are poorly designed, as the one most likely to go (the alternator one) is on first. If it goes, you have to take all the others off to replace it.Those fuel and breather lines lines are so many around the fuel tank, I had to replace all mine as well. Wondered why I had a smell of petrol all the time. I had mine around the time "Lead Replacement Petrol" (LRP) came in as they stopped making Super leaded petrol. If you put the boot in hard, it use to ping its head off, as LRP was only 96 octane. It went well (with super petrol) and was a nice car to drive. They finally sorted out the old holden six and they threw it away after the VK finished. I liked the square shaped gauges and dash, as it was very fresh looking as I had not seen that style in an Australian car before. Those old vacuum cruise contol units took up way too much room. A modern electronic one would take only a fraction of the room. Well done lads, now you know a bit about old Holdens.
Thanks mate!
Need a link in the description for those denim bib and brace overalls Hillbilly, stat. 🤠
I'll get one sent to you ;)
dungarees.com/carhartt/mens/bibs-coveralls
I find the old beetles are made quite well but my Mk1 the welds are horrible im surprised it's holding together 😂
I know there's a noticible difference in quality between German built Mk1s and Australian built ones - could be this that makes the change in quality
WOW so many spotwelds, don't give up Jackson good luck with this.
Still so many more to go!
Also a mini belt sander also regularly got used, for hard to reach spot welds
We always used a heat gun to get rid of seam sealer in the crashshops
any air chisel action to split the panels?
Thanks Mr coupe guy
@elheffeschopshop might aswell call me tank man now haha
Love your work fellas :)
Thanks mate :)
Same thing happened to my commodore. Now I need to do this. But probably buy a motor + other bits instead of a donor car. Are there guides online on how to do this. I really don’t want to fork out thousands to a shop.
Not that I saw sorry, I just worked it out as I went 😅 and then still had to get the trans programmed to the car
9:06 I really wanted that for my car
Sureeeee
Johnny Cash wrote a song about Jackson.
It's a good song too!
Spent a lot of time waiting for those flanges 😅😅😅
Lucky I like the bloke...
@@elheffeschopshophe never seems to be in a rush that bloke
@Aidaniel_MTB when the price is right I guess it doesn't matter..
where did u find the louvers?
At a wrecking yard locally!
make it a drift car
26:56 "I want to crank the motor to build oil pressure but I don't want the motor to start so I will disconnect the Air Intake Temp sensor" disconnected/damaged IAT & CLT sensors can make it difficult to start, true. Also the CAM angle sensor isnt required on many cars for the vehicle to start. So the best ways are to disconnect the CRANK sensor, or pull the MFI fuse, or fuse to the coils. Or, with the key in the OFF position, you can send power via a power probe to the starter to quickly or temporarily crank the engine. great learning example.
This is all true! However when I first got the donor car it would not start without the air intake sensor, not sure why it didn't and now does, but that's how we learn ahaha
G25 is too small. Got a G30-900 with 0.83 rear on mine and it's pretty responsive. Boost starts building at around 3100rpm. Just came across this series btw. Definitely one of the cooler backyard projects i've seen. Havent seen one of those camry's since my mate owned one back in highschool in 2010.
Thanks mate, what is your k24 in? And how much power did it make with the g30?
@elheffeschopshop ek civic. Making 318kw @14psi on a run in tune with 98.
Nice! I'm really only hoping for around 250kw, I've heard the gearboxes are pretty weak. Have you had any issues?
@elheffeschopshop should be doable. I believe my accord box has dc5 1-4 and stock 5-6 with factory lsd. I was told it'll handle the power unless it gets full traction at launch. So far only traction has been an issue. 1st, 2nd and 3rd break traction as soon as it makes some boost. Need semi slicks.
Hahaha sweet
oh yeah clean pipe and hit it with some wd40 thats how they get the nice gold colour
15mm off the tow bar wont hurt it its not like your gonna tow cars right ?
Hahaha maybe... i dont want to weaken it at all so i guess ill just hammer the tip
Great work dude Use some 3 bond on the flange gaskets So cool 😎
Shall do! Thanks mate!
@@elheffeschopshop let me know if you need some haha
Haha i think i have a heap for a wonderful subscriber
Nice job Jeph, Those welds look great from my house. 😉 still way better then I could do! 😂 So keen for the turbo Kamry!
Looks good from in the car too 🤣
@@elheffeschopshop as long as they are solid and they work that’s all that matters 😂
It's alive !
Sounds good!
That's a neat looking Mike Oldfield exhaust you have there. Might want to knock a clearance dent in the tailpipe before it drives you mad.
Whos mike oldfield? Yeah i think denting is the way to go
@@elheffeschopshop I forgot how old I am. Look up his biggest hit tune.
You can always bash a dent in the dump pipe to add more clearance to the drive shaft, it doesn't affect exhaust flow.
True! I was trying to avoid it, but i might have to
Back purge would be ideal for the blast pipes section, would be my only suggesstion
welp, commented before you mentioned it hahaha
@@LukasForealsPlays back purging isnt needed when its just a tip if it was a manifold yeah
I would if i could, but i dont have the equipment atm, not sure why some welds were fine and others were horrid on the inside
@elheffeschopshop some stainless alloys are good for welding some are horrible you did a good job
Thank you mate :]
Love it! Personally I wouldn't mess with the towbar support for the sake of an exhaust tip, maybe just chuck some rubber in between?
or perhaps mount the pipe off the towbar support with a bracket and removable bolt
Yeah thats more what im leaning towards if it is an issue! The tow bar is structural haha
What an exhausting video 😅
There is always one 🤣🤣🤣

What happen to the c63 manual swap
Unfortunately i had bills to pay and had to sell it a while back :( i did sell the manual conversion parts to a guy in qld though so hopefully it appears again one day
I also had a white ef sedan with a manual 5 speed transmission it had the xr body kit but not xr front lights. 2.5-inch lukey performance and extractors by lukey. It was never the fastest car on the road but a friend had an auto xr8 stock 5l and my car was quicker on the straight and dropped a better skid than the xr8 also
Would you like to sell that grille badge?
Sorry mate its long gone now
Hell yeah coming along great!
Thanks mate! Hopefully i can get a heap done for next week ;)
That’s a lot of exhaust pipe to simply point it out the bonnet
Thats because it is illegal heef.... and im not americab enough 🤣
