Did this with both wires neither worked... but when i unhook this and give it power it rolls the window down??

Wow, thanks a bunch for this video. I replaced the switch without getting it back working, and was about to replace the whole motor and assembly, but found your video and bang we are back rolling down windows. I cut the wrong wire but it was easy to splice back together. Thanks alot man!

Thanks, I would not use that repair shop, for quessing instead of proper diagnosis. the motor is last thing logically to replace.

Thank you very much for this video. This worked perfectly for my issue. Driver window would go up, but not down. Intermittently started to go down on its own while driving. Did the bypass in about 10 minutes and my issue was resolved. Appreciate the video.

I have an 01 expedition, passenger window does not go down. You think this could work on that? Light tested motor and lights come on tester when both up and down are pushed.

Sounds like a good fix. Haven't tried it yet, but truck has all the weird symptoms. I would just note that this problem originates in the GEM module and that the GEM module starts to fail and cause issues because of water from a windshield leak (apparently common). So, this fix will take care of the window problem, but a wet GEM module can also cause issues with windshield wipers, interior lights, etc, etc. If you start to experience those or other unexplainable electrical issues, prepare for replacing the GEM module AND getting the leaky windshield fixed.

This was easy to take out and a bitch to get back in. I did it without removing anything. The bastard did not want to turn back in place. Thanks for the video though 👍

Did you end up using these carbs or replace/rebuilding them? Have you seen a replacement carb for them? I'm in the same situation and looks like the original carbs are discontinued.

Great video even you cut the wrong wire you can easily put back together. Thank you for this somewhat hidden nugget in overriding the nightmare of taking off GEM Module. Mentioning the color wires and where they go another key element in getting that motor to reverse (or allow window down). Thank you agan!

I like the video, but he did not take out the O'Ring, make sure you replace the O'Ring that came w/the New Pump. Very Important.

Thank you very much. Does doing this disable the auto down feature of the drivers window switch? I actually have a different problem I am trying to solve but wonder if this will fix it also. I replaced the window motor that had bad contacts. It works now except when the window goes down the limit switch built in the motor doesn't stop it at the bottom, so it to clanks loudly like something is going to break until I hit the up button.

the gem module is the WHOLE fuse block unit once that goes bad due to the windshield leaking it will eventually prevent your #1 windows from working#2 windshield wipers #3 dome lights #4 interior lights #5 the door chime from working in my case all 3 went bad

So how does one test the tan and light blue to be sure its the right wire needed

The wire the tan and blue that goes down the door bottom to window motor...that isn't to the window motor. The orange wire u cut that clips there are the two window wires. I should know because I'd replaced the power window motor with regulator.... But that didn't work plus replaced the window switch and nothing. So I'm going to try your idea...next..

The slide on iur Kawasaki kx60 will not drop down deep enough into carb body. I can see about 1/4” of the slide from the intake sides. Not sure what to do…. Bad Spring?

Question: I've done this to my window an it didn't work. So what do you suggest I do next? I've checked the motor and it works, all the wiring is good and my switch is also good. Module went out, I replaced the fuse an as soon as I did everything worked as should only for a few seconds and then smoke rolled out from gem module. I know what happened there hahaha. I've bypassed the wipers and interior lights my only problem now is the stupid window. It'll go up but not down. Like I said, I tried the ole switcheroo on the wires but never worked

I had the same problem with my 98. This was so much easier, faster, and less expensive than replacing the fuse box to fix the problem. My truck has a tan/blue wire and a tan/black wire. It's the tan/blue if that helps anyone. Great video, would never have thought of that myself. Thank you very much for posting it.

You got your wire on wrong should be running counter clockwise

Thanks for sharing but fyi It has the delay when you power off the switch intentionally because users inexperienced in welding don't know that you are not supposed to power off right when your done welding because the unit still needs the fan to cool itself off for another 5 to 10 min. It should not still have current to the electrode but it's a cheep welder so It's worth it since if the fan just shut off it would burn out the welder quite quickly
