Ricks Kits
United Kingdom
Приєднався 18 лип 2020
Hello my name is Richard.
My channel is based entirely on my love of model making.
I have tendancies to build kits that i like the look of. So ships, planes, trucks, figures, fantasy figures which have also played a role in my Hobby will appear from time to time. So look out for those. It is a great hobby so if you feel enthused go out and grab yourself a kit and get started.

Hi, Rick! It's me again. First of all, Happy New Year! Health and peace for you and your family. I am writing because I am curious about the chrome parts of the Harley. Did you paint all chromed parts? If so, did you remove the original chrome before painting? What paints did you use? Primers? Black base? Could you give me some advice? Thank you!
The chrome on the Harley is straight out of the box no stripping was needed. If your looking to do chrome then I would suggest the alclad line of paints very good quality though they are only for airbrush. There is the revell chrome which is in a spray can I have heard it is very good. Always use a black gloss as your base it helps with the shine. I don’t know of a paint brush version. Hope that helps✌🏻👍
Tks!!!!
Beautiful; what paints did you use on the camouflage? Were the 20 mm cannon in the wings the MG FF or MG-151? Why would you not recommend that kit?
This is a very old and worn out kit there is so much work to clean it up and get it to fit properly if your able to purchase an original kit it would be easier to build. The paints for the camo were Vallejo model air grey-green and black-green. As for the wing cannon they look like MG FF but it’s hard to tell really. 👍✌🏻
Cool kit Rick, the old Matchbox kits was always fun to build, be following along buddy, 👍😎
Thanks Tom needed to do a car kit haven’t done one in ages 👍✌🏻
Rick my condolences brother and I love you ❤😊
Thank you Shawn❤️
Not completed. Lacks the Swastika. Cut it up with this political (in)correctness!!!!!
👍✌🏻
As an ex re-enactor of the Das Reich division your comment sits ill with me. As a you tube creator we are governed by criteria that does not allow the use of nazi symbols from ww2. I for one will not lose my channel just for the sake of historical accuracy and for your information the swastika which is lacking in the video has been applied to the model. Do not imply political correctness on me as you do not know me or where I stand on such matters.
Outstanding.
Thank you✌🏻👍
This kit came with Swastikas, I presume you will add them for a proper realistic representation.
Originally yes but this kit did not have any I do have some in the stash and they will be added 👍✌🏻
I’m doing mine as a captured aircraft so I can avoid putting one on.
That’s your choice a captured aircraft is a good one. I’m restricted by you tube policy once of camera the correct identification always goes on my models.
Messerschmitt Me 109 does not exist
In 1935 when it first flew, these aircraft were built by a company called Bayerische Flugzeugwerke, hence the designation of “Bf.” In 1939 Willy Messerschmitt became the new owner of the company and renamed it after his last name. Since then, all of the variants built before 1938 had a “Bf” designation and all the subsequent ones the designation of “Me.”
👍✌🏻
A great ME109, Rick. You can be very satisfied. I wish you a also good modeling year in 2025. All the best. Greetings, Joachim
Many thanks Joachim a happy new year to you ✌🏻👍

Hi, Rick! Congratulations for you fantastic job! I am a begginer and I would like some tips from you. What primers/ paints have you used? Any special glue? I really would appreciate any advice. Thank you Mery Christmas and a Happy New Year!!! Best regards from Brazil!
thank you for your comment. as a begginer my advice would be 1. make sure you have a reasonable set of brushes(they dont have to be expensive) a pair of side cutters(for cutting the parts from the sprue) a hobby knife with changeable blades(always need a sharp blade) a set of tweezers for the parts you cant reach. dont purchase expensive tools that you do not need yet such as an airbrush/compressor until you have developed your skill set. 2. a kit that is within your price range and skill set(no good buying a huge part kit that is too complicated) also pick a kit that you are interested in aircraft, tanks, cars, bikes etc. 3. watch other model builders and attend any model shows your able to get to, or join a model club if there is one near you. so you can speak face to face with the builder and ask questions. 4. primers and paint are a choice of the individual modeller and you will lean towards a certain manufacturer that you like but most common is Tamiya, AK Interactive, vallejo. i learnt with Tamiya and i use primarily their primer and paint( both the little jars and the spray cans) for brush painting i use model colour and AK gen 3 my glue is tamiya extra thin and super glue. 5. finally above everything and the most important thing is to 'Have Fun' i hope this has helped in some way.✌👍
Thank you VERY MUCH, Rick! All the best! Big hug from Brazil!
Zundapp is looking good. These parts are very small.
Thanks David👍✌🏻
Good job with the Zündapp Krad and a surely unusual presentation in this kind of diorama. This still lifts your work certainly even on a higher level. great idea and great execution, Rick! Best wishes, Joachim
Thank you very much Joachim ✌🏻👍
I've never attempted something like this and I have to say Rick you have inspired me to have a go at it.👍👍The sky looked great and the whole piece really sets the scene. Well done my friend.👏👏👍👍😉
Go for it. To be honest Al I’ve never done anything like this before and I quite like how it looks. ✌🏻👍
So sorry for your loss Rick me and the family send are condolences to you and the family 🙏
