Hi Rajeev, Std error is used as a correction to compensate for the error encountered. For every error that you have, a corresponding correction factor is calculated (which is the opposite of the error). Adjustment to nominal can be a part of a calibration, but not always. If the UUT is within manufacturer's specs when compared to a lab standard (usually a 4:1 accuracy ratio) it is calibrated.
