Nicely done!!
Thank you!
Great video, beautiful photography!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I have used Rode Go2 for almost 5 years and haven't had that issue happen. My biggest issue is that sometimes the TX/RX won't connect right away and it takes 2-3 reboots. It doesn't happen all the time, but that is annyoing. I also have the DJI Mic for the Pocket3 and like it but until the RODE stops working it's my Go2 mic system!
It's possible that it doesn't happen to all of the units but after doing some research it appears in not the only one it's happened to. It's good that it's working for you but I've lost too much footage that ends up having no audio for me to continue to use it. I'll keep it as my back up system instead. Although I have to say if you have the DJI mic 2 system I'm surprised you'd continue to use the Rode system. There are several features of the DJI mic 2 that really are an improvement. Unless you have the latest Rode system then I think they are pretty evenly matched. But they both have pros and cons to be honest.
@@digimarkstudios I am in a couple different filmmaker groups on Facebook and many people are complaining about the DJI Mic system, lots of clipping and dropped audio throughout. Not sure if they are updating their firmware or if its after a firmware update as they don't really tell us version info but many complaints more than the RODE. Good luck either way!
well.. i dont think its fair to blame the product here to be honest. monitoring audio levels is part of the job. you should have noticed it within a few moments. either by the visual audio meters that stopped showing audio input on your camera display or by monitoring audio by headphones.. if your main light goes off, you will notice it and fix it. if your autofocus starts acting up, you will notice it and fix it. when your mic reciever turns off, for whatever reason you did not catch that. you even said you have had this happen before. nothing is really 'set and forget'. sooner or later you will run into issue with the dji aswell. monitor your audio levels and dont blame the gear.
I can appreciate what your saying but when the gear doesn't perform as expected and shutsdown unexpectedly, I will absolutely blame the gear. I'm not a big production studio I'm just one guy shooting myself for a UA-cam channel often on a go pro so I can't see the audio levels from the front. I would initially check the audio levels on the back before I pressed record. The point is I should be able to use the gear as it's intended to be used and trust it to perform as expected especially considering the price tag on this price of gear . Thank you for watching. 🙂
Nice shots🎉Thank You
Thank you for watching!
Beautiful 🤩 Letchworth State Park… The Grand Canyon of the East!
Thank you for watching the video! It is indeed an see inspiring place. There are some other locations within the park that I want to photograph and video.
I agree with you. The first wireless Go screw me up in a job and I stay away from them ever since!
So far I'm really liking the DJI mic system. A couple of nice features that doesn't seem to get mentioned in the reviews are the fact that the display on the receiver is on the "side" and not on the "top" so that when the receiver is mounted on the shoe of your camera you can see the display without having to take the receiver out of the shoe. Also the receiver will turn off and on as you turn your camera off and on. That last one is really cool because I don't have to worry about turning the receiver on and off to save power and then forgetting to turn the receiver back on. It comes on with the camera.
Muchas gracias
loved this! beautiful images, nice vid!! 🌟
Thank you. Bill is a very talented photographer no doubt about it.
Nice timelapse video and tutorial! Thanks for taking the time to create and share! PS - at 11:00 mark - on a PC, nudge clips with Alt + left or right arrow keys
Thanks for the info! I've been a PC guy for my entire life and my 9-5 job is actually as a Windows programmer. I avoided Apple like the plague....until they came out with the M1 chip. Holy Moly it blew my PC away which was no slug especially door video editing. There are still some things about it that drives me crazy (Apple's file management system leaves a lot to be desired for one) but the pros way outweigh the cons. 😊
@@digimarkstudios Me too! I've been a PC programmer for 33 years (some of that included DOS)! I've been doing aerial and ground photo/video work since 2005 as a side gig (yeah, before drones we used RC helicopters 😀). I've contemplated using a Mac a few times but obviously haven't switched over. Our family is an iPhone/iPad family but no Macs in the house. Nothing against them. Bought the Mavic 3 Pro Cine in July and love it. Used and Inspire 1 with the X5 camera for years. Haven't done any timelapse with the Mavic yet but your video has given me some inspiration. Thank you.
@@prairieskycam I would HIGHLY recommend getting a MacBook M series. You'll be blown away at the performance. When I first saw the reviews I was like "yeah right" then I got curious and looked into it. Essentially they traded the x386 instruction set with all is baggage that it comes with for an RISC instruction set. I was then like ahhh...that makes sense and decided to take the plunge. Took a little getting used to but I'll never go back for editing photos and videos. Now my biggest problem is that I keep getting the alt and ctrl keys mixed up when going between editing and doing the 9-5. 😂
I thought waypoints just carried on flying without signal. Plenty of vids showing it does
Not with the mavic air 2. The drone doesn't store the waypoints onboard the drone the days is all external which is why it has to maintain a connection to the remote.
I don’t Jack about photography! They all looked good to me.
I think so too. They are all useable and I think UA-cam masks a bit of the noise due to compression but when I was editing the video on my monitor there was definitely a difference in the noise levels with the night mode being the cleanest. However I do think I lost some detail in the night mode footage.
Man - i fell asleep watching / listeing to this.
I'll take that as a compliment. 😊
Hi, cool work! We'd like to collaborate, how can we get in touch? :)
Hi. you can visit my website at www.DigiMarkStudios.com there is a contact me page.
I just got a 90D last week....hoping I can get some shots as nice as you did....definitely prefer the 90D footage.....great video, thank you!
Congratulations on the 90D! I hope you come to love it as much as I do. It is a very versatile camera and I probably only use about 1/8 of its capabilities.
where you get that strobe?
The manufacturer of that particular strobe is Lume Cube. You purchase one from Amazon at the following link. www.amazon.com/Lume-Cube-Strobe-Anti-Collision-Lighting/dp/B07TDNL1KV/ref=asc_df_B07TDNL1KV/
Excellent video showcasing Litch app, does it allow shooting longer hyperlapse with multiple batteries? Example :- Battery 1 covers 30% distance & it returns home, change battery & it goes to the point when last shot was take & then continue further.
It may be possible by stopping the mission and then restart the mission at the last waypoint it "executed". I'm not sure how accurate that would be though and I would think you'd want to overlap a little to make blending the two videos together easier. I'd try it out but I sold my Mavic Air 2 and the Mavic 3 I have now is not supported by Litchi which I really miss. But the the video and photo quality of the Mavic 3 is so much better. Now if only dji would release an SDK for the Mavic 3...the best of both worlds. 😊
Great shots guys!
Thanks! It was an awesome evening of flying drones and photography.
I think your photo’s are beautiful. Salute.
Thank you!
Greetings from South Africa. Thanks for this. Amazing work. Stay safe friend.
Thank you for the kind words. 😊😎
Say, what date was this shot? Might you or your drone have seen either of the two Peregrines that nest at the Richardson?
This was shot at the end of February. No we didn't see any falcons but It's funny you should ask. There was a couple that walked by while we were flying and asked us the same question.
@@digimarkstudios 😄
Nice work . Air 2 still gets amazingly good footage love it . Hopefully will be upgraded to air2s soon from my mavic mini se
Yes I loved the Air 2 and would have kept it but I needed the sale to help fund the new drone. The photo and video quality was great if the sensor was fed enough light it just fell a little flat on low light situations for my needs. My new drone has great low light performance.
I liked the video! Bill seems like a great guy and certainly has serious talent. I am guessing Dan an Bill are in western New York, but there is no information by which to contact either photographer. The link to Flickr is nice but still no way to do business with Bill. Opportunity missed, Dan.
Thank you for watching Greg! I generally don't post direct contact information to prevent the spam is often a result of doing so. However if you want to contact me you can do so via my website at www.digimarkstudios.com and I would be happy to provide a more direct way of contacting myself and if he agrees can pass Bills contact information along.
Dan, very interesting video. I really enjoyed it!!!! As I said the other night, I'd be happy to collaborate with you on a video of iPhone photography versus DLSR. I hope your are able to attend my presentation on the 14th, it might give you some ideas regarding your video.
Absolutely! I'm a little booked up right now but in a few weeks or so we'll have to set something up.
I would have been thrilled with those shots😂. I believe the lighthouse at Golden Hill is called 30 Mile Point Lighthouse. I think because it’s 30 miles from the Niagara River. Golden Hill is one of our favorite spots. My wife and I got married in the gazebo 8 years ago. We go camping every year there for our anniversary.😮
I've been told I'm my own worst critic. 😊 Thank you for watching!
nice work
Thank you although I don't feel they rank among my best but you can't win them all! 😊
Thank you for spending time with Bill. Its nice to see that there are others that find interesting things laying around and can create a beautiful still life image.
It was my pleasure. Bill and I are hopefully collaborating on another video soon so stay tuned. 😊
That was AWESOME, Great photos dude....
Thank you!
Bill is an interesting guy, but as others have stated none of the work was “Macro” and very little of the discussion was technical. The work shown was traditional “Still Life” not macro
If you visit Bill's flikr site which is provided in the description you'll see that Bill actually does do a fair bit of Macro photography. The fact that the photos in the video aren't really Macro is my fault. I didn't specify to Bill that I needed Macro shots when I asked him to provide samples of his work and I didn't pay close enough attention when I added them to the video. Mostly due to the fact that the project had run a lot longer then I intended and I was rushing to finish it up. The video wasn't necessarily designed to be technical and for the more experienced photographer but to be more like a simple primer for a beginner photographer (like me) on what they would need to get started and how to find subjects to shoot. Thank you for watching the video and offering up your thoughts. It is much appreciated. 😊
It always brings me joy to see how photography can bring people together! Nice job.
Thank you! And shacks for watching.
Thank you for this video. Very inspiring … happy new year.
Thank YOU for watching. Happy new year to you as well.
I didn’t see any true macro being done. Id call this close up photography. A masterpiece regardless. I enjoyed the documentary style video as well; excellently done especially with capturing well mixed voice audio.
Thank you. Although the photos in the video aren't really macro, if you visit Bill's Flickr account provided in the description, you'll see he does indeed do a fair bit of macro. It's my fault for not specifying to Bill to include some macro shots when I asked him for photos to put in the video. Bill was unaware of the title of the video until I posted it. 😊
Wow great job
Thank you greatly.
good vedio..i like..tq tq
Thank you!
Excellent work. prefer the dslr
Thank you!
Colors are great from the 90D but I liked the clouds better from the GoPro. What was the shutter speed of the GoPro?
I'm not really sure. It's whatever the default was. 😁 I think the time between shots was .5 seconds.
Thanks, Dan. I prefer the Canon 90 D version, but it was great to see a comparison.
I would say the strength of using the Gopro for the timelapse is it's ease of setup (even when your rushing and just use the default settings 😁) and not having to do a lot of post work to create the movie. Also if I use the Gopro for a timelapse my camera is free for taking photos and not tied up taking the sequence.
I prefer the Canon 90D version also. Beautiful and thanks for sharing. We were busy digging out from the 80 inches of snow in Orchard Park so didn't get in much photography that week!
I'm surprised at how little snow there was at the marina it was mostly all melted by the time I got down there.
And you dont even have to go outside. In the comfort of your own home. Thanks for this. Im going to be more mindful of things to collect when out and about.
Hi, nice crisp presentation. Tkx a ton. Just to clarify…is he doing focus stacking?
Bill didn't do any while I was there. I'll let him know your asking him and send him this way.
Hi JSR. Most of the images in this video were not focused stacked. I do, frequently use focus stacking in my work.
Seems like great content but the background music is so distracting I stopped listening.
I'm sorry you felt the background music was distracting. Thank you for stool watching.
The shot at 11:07 is a fantastic composition! But as always, got some awesome images here Dan. Keep up the good work buddy
Thanks! We're due for a major snow storm I'm hoping to maybe get out in and get some epic photos/video. I wanted to get a time lapse of the clouds rolling in during sunset tonight but I had a meeting at work that ran overtime and it was too late by the time the meeting was done.
@DigiMark Studios There'll be other opportunities :) be safe with the snow storm though, its warmer than usual here for this time of year!
Very nice, Dan!
Thanks Bill!
The photos were lovely and so is Bill but as another commenter posted, this isn't macro photography at all. Macro require 1:1 replication of the subjects size onto the sensor. If the subject is 10mm in length it will be projected by the lens onto the sensor at 10mm in length (if your sensor is 30mm in width than the projected light will take up 1/3rd of the sensor space in this example). I'm not saying this to be the terminology police but so people don't watch this thinking its one type of photography when in reality it is COMPLETELY different.
I will concede that the photos showcased in the video are not technically considered macro photos. I simply asked Bill to provide some of his favorite images that he would like to have featured in the video. However, if you peruse Bills Flickr account (provided in the description) you will see that he does indeed do macro photography and his processes and techniques for lighting would apply just as well to macro as too "non macro".
@@digimarkstudios I definitely will check it out. As a macro photographer, it's always good to try and learn from new people which is why I clicked the video in the first place.
It’s always such a joy to see how photography can bring people with different levels of skill together.
@@randygreen007 It's funny you say that not having seen my work 😆
Very professional and good video, I likethe documentary vibe. And I see why his photos caught your eye, those shots were amazing. I especially love the lantern/rope shots, and the pocket watch.
I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Bill and I are trying to get together to do another one but life has been getting in the way. 😊
Thank you!
Lovely photos, but none of this is macro, it is barely even close up. Macro is where the image size is equal to or greater than life size. Apologies for appearing to be picky, but the term macro has fast become the most misused and apparently least understood word in photography these days.
Nice job, Dan!!!
Thanks Bill!
Awesome shots Dan! Glad to see some in depth insight to how you get your images perfect :)
@@HonedHobbyist thank you! Hopefully I'll get better at this video thing as I go along. 😊

Hi Charlie. Thanks for the subscription! The closest I ever got to New Zealand was when we went to Oz way back when I was in the U.S. Navy.
Good stuff
Not my best video. Was mostly an experiment with UA-cam shorts. But I was finding it hard to keep it under 60 sec and still have a coherent message.
