Переглядів 23 тис.4 місяці тому
Managing Varroa Mite levels in Honey Bee Colonies. We currently do not have adequate tools to effectively control Varroa Mite in Honey Bee Colonies during those times when honey supers are on and our Bees are collecting Honey. The Extended Release Oxalic Acid treatment designed by Randy Oliver is a promising method that could control Varroa Mite levels with Honey Supers on. More work needs to b...

Mid-Season Varroa Mite Treatment Using Formic Pro
Thanks for explaining Randy's approach. Greetings from Germany!
Would regular wood supers fit on top of this?
How long will the pads last if kept in the sealed prep tub?
After extracting a hive from its place,,, how long after can you re set the bees to the new location?
this sounds dangerous. if beekeepers wont follow the law you stand a higher chance of creating panic over whats in our honey, and people will stop buying it
Hi, i think that feeder is poorly designed, it takes whater from sides when its heavy raining. Am I right?
Will the bees not build combs between the cages or in the empty space?
Couldn’t you put them on a covered little landing board, that way they walk across it every time they go in and out ,,
Super film .Pozdrowienia z Polski
Are these Swedish sponges gnawed by bees so they are effective?
10/10 ... !!
Thanks! Good quick and easy check!
How does this video series not have 1,000,000 views? Great content and information!!
The battery style is on the outside box
Hey, great video. I just purchased my first one. What type of oxalic acid are you using. I’m guessing it’s powder but where do you get it from? Thank you.
Hey Brian! It’s Bryan from St. Joseph’s Island. I’m a back yard guy. (13 hives) but I always wear gloves, because I’m day job uses up most of my time. So I run through the boxes too quickly because of time. I’m going to try these. Thanks for your time! Brian Bryan

I might secretly wish to be a Canadian, because you’re one of the few youtube beekeepers I feel comfortable watching. About 50% of them seem pretentious, then about 30% more seem very blue collar to the point where I can’t fully identify. Thank you for the recipe!
The irony of your pretentious comment…
With treatment do you still need to add the gas?
Yes he said this will just sort of stabilize the mite load after a vapor treatment. He said it makes the mites less fertile and they aren’t able to get a grip on the hive through Summer
I will never get large enough to need something like this, but I find it very interesting. I have a few, possibly stupid, questions. Do you have any sort of filter from the extractor before it gets to the clarifier, or is the clarifier allowing you to not have to do that? Do you periodically have to skim the wax/bee parts from the first 2 tanks? If so, how often? Does the clarifier keep up with your extractor(s)? Thanks!
Our last name is Bee; maybe our family should consider raising bees on our homestead
Beautiful 😍
My hats off to you fella, well done!!!!!
Stunning that a varroa mite has the intelligence to know the difference between a drone or worker cell and know that the drone cell is a better option. Stunning.
I thought about a vending machine for my honey. I will produce about 100k worth of honey next year.
Wink Wink
Won't acid eat through a cellulose sponge at that concentration? Or stick together at that concentration after sitting for some time?
Short answer is no. Works fine. Oxalic is not a very aggressive acid
What time is the best to use acrylic acid before harvesting honey or after
Legally in Canada it can only be used after honey is pulled.
Hi Brian, cam you teach me how to make creamed honey?
Easy. Google "How to Make Creamed Honey"
I watched the video unfortunately without sound therefore I have questions. 1. what dose of acid to take per hive? 2. what is the ratio of the volume of the solution to the volume of the towels? Volume of solution = volume of towels? The latter question derives from the fact that if the towels did not absorb all the solution then proportionally there would be less oxalic acid on each towel.
You will have to watch it with sound
@@Innisfilcreekhoney I have already advised myself. I made oxalic acid with glycerine (50%-50%) with cellulose-cotton kitchen cloths. I dosed so that there was 60g of acid per hive in strong colonies. The varroa parasite falls on the den systematically. I also doused other colonies with 3% oxalic acid syrup and Egyptian remedy. Most fell after pouring the oxalic acid. Nothing fell off after pouring the Egyptian remedy.
@@Innisfilcreekhoney How long should I keep these towels in the hive?
I really appreciate how made this so simple. You are an excellent teacher....you cover all the details and make everything understandable. Thank you so much!
I tired the cinnamon and my hive left. Thanks for that. I won't ever use cinnamon again. I barely used it.😢

Those pieces of bee products are healthy and there are no necessity to clean the honey except the aesthetic reasons
I buy honey online from a company called Really Raw Honey. All of their honey is pretty stiff and it's almost white. Why is it white?
Different kinds oh honey have different colors
Better to have it and not need it! 😎🐝☀️
Neat! 😎🐝☀️
Great video! It's fantastic to see the beekeeping community in Ontario thriving. The tips on maintaining hives during the colder months were especially helpful. Looking forward to trying out some of these techniques with my own hives. Keep up the good work!
metal destroys the nutritional enzymes in natural honey, yes?
No
i have heard that as well from a bee keeper on you tube maybe not stainless steel
No. Don't believe everything you see on Tic Tock
Not all things on UA-cam are true
who's clarifier do you use?
One we designed.
I also wanted to add that I read not too long ago, that they are now injecting something into the queen bees. It is a vaccine. I wonder how well that vaccine is tested. Bill Gates is releasing mosquitoes that he feeds through blood tax in Florida and Texas and now all of a sudden in Florida we are having cases of Malaria. It makes me wonder who test the blood bags that he’s feeding these mosquitoes before he releases them. I also heard he bought a train in Canada or a train line.
I heard the top people are releasing something into Beekeepers Bees. Into the air. Triple release slow pesticides in seeds by the company beginning with the letter M. I wrote that really quick and I wanna add to it. last week I saw a man that keeps bees either in Canada or Australia say that some important people came to check out his hives. I’m trying to find that video again because he mentioned that they are purposely destroying them by doing some things such as releasing something into their hives. if I find it, I will try and post it here. If you are a fellow believer, you should pray and ask God to release Psalms 91 and 107:20 into your beehives and Bees.
Not to use with honey supers, but what would be a good mixture ratio using taktic/amatraz on those pads say with canola or coconut oil. That's not legal either due to corporate greed. But it sure would be interesting to know and see how much we're paying extra for the same thing.
I had 7 beehives 2 months ago and now I have just 5. I found big ants around those 2 beehives. They destroyed my bees for just few days. I am desperate and don't know what to do to save bees. I have tried with cinnamon but unsuccessfully. Do you have some advice? P.s.sorry for my English
Put them somewhere there is no ants. You could try putting cinnamon around your hive?
Does this kill off hive beetles also?
No
Shop was cooler than i was expecting
So glad to see a fellow Ontarian beekeeper makin it big on UA-cam lol. Keep up the awesome work. Do you worry about wind blowing the lid off or does a cinder block hold it down good enough?
Cinder Blocks are heavy. If the wind gets that strong I would worry more about the house
Wouldn't it be easier to heat the glycerin first and slowly add and mix the OA, like we would do when mixing sugar?
The reason Randy Oliver does this is to prevent the "splashing" that would happen by adding a solid to a hot liquid.... so not only hot fluid splashing, but also an acid. Doing it the way that Randy Oliver suggests is very easy.
You could. I was just following Randy Oliver's method. Really does not take much time regardless.
