30,000 Lakenheath Starlings Murmurating _ 24 Jan 2017
Переглядів 1007 років тому
Back in January of this year...30,000 Starlings in Murmuration over RSPB Lakenheath - takes a few minutes for the camera to begin to focus properly as the light was falling away fast......DON'T MISS THE END as the Starlings merge into 3 groups to drop to the ground to roost, in formation.......Incredible organisational skills as this 'big wing' splits into three 'squadrons' of approx 10,000 bir...
Goldeneye Ducks at Lackford Lakes - 14 Feb 2017.

Goldeneye Ducks, and their extraordinary courtship ritual.... Goldeneye are Winter visitors to the UK, and usually not seen in large numbers, so it was a rare treat to see at least a half-dozen at Lackford Lakes reserve (Suffolk) on Feb 14the 2017.

Skating Crow & Beardies
Переглядів 747 років тому
Filmed at RSPB Lakenheath, Suffolk, on 24 Jan 2017, after a couple of nights of hard frosts... the lake at the Washlands was frozen-over, and this is where I saw the crow slipping & sliding - he was about 200 yards away! A little later, on the boardwalk to Mere Hide, there was a great racket among the reeds...loads of "Pinging and Tinging" ....and then the Bearded Tits (Beardies) arrived...!! V...

Young male Kingfisher at "New Bernard's Hide".... unusual to see a Kingfisher sit on the bank like this. It did however, give a good chance to catch him as he took-off at slightly less than the 'normal' maximum speed... :-D
West Stowe Lake, Suffolk, 24 Aug 2016

During our ramble around the lake at West Stowe, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, on a very hot and sunny afternoon, Eddie and I were quite charmed by this little bird that we didn't initially recognise as a Sandpiper.... not a commonly seen bird, as it is migratory , and passes through the Uk during the late summer months. Very interestingly though, it followed us for quite a while, and eventually ca...

Dalek Toys - 1960's to the present day.
I have a Product Enterprise black, silver and gold movie dalek
Great collection, but no Rolykins?
None of the original '60s Rolykins anymore; had a couple as a kid, back then, but as with SO many things, they just disappeared over the years!! I do have a few of the ones released in the '90s by Product Enterprise, but I forgot about those when I made the video!! 😂
Loved this ....genius nonsense perfect for the radio 📻
Brilliant. :)
Thank u very much, in my country a lot of fake cartridges
I don't know if you remember the one that was brought out as a top shape for the' head so to speak! It then had a plastic bottom half in plastic material! For a kid to fit in! That was fun to have back then 😉That was great fun to look at all of those! thank you!
Was that the costume one that came out in early/mid 60s? Had a hard plastic dome and neck bin section, and the skirt was a soft plastic? If it was that one, sadly I never had one - it was too expensive back then!! Worth a mint nowadays if any survived! 😀
@@stevesstuff1450 it sounds like it! Mine was a red one with white dots! I think the dome was red too! Sadly mine did not! 😬
Somehow, I don't think Rosalía was in a show recorded in 1955.... Thanks you UA-cam's "People" section... ..maybe to get the young-uns interested...
One of their very best.
Love the talent, priceless. Love the batter pudding
So duid we, also from New Zealand!
“Shall we dance?”
Bins Road
?
For anyone reading this, the 4 squares for GBA games that are clear like pokemon is no longer a good way to look for fakes. It can be faked now.
All fans remember three Goons. Most remember Michael Bentine and Wallace Greenslade too, but I remember Ray Ellington the voice of Throat. You did not hear him often, but he was always a punch line worth listening too. Seagoon after knocking on a door "Mother!" Throat "Pardon me Sir I am not your mother I m the butler".Seagoon "You shouldn't wear your kilt so long" Throat "I have reason for that".
We tuned in the the goon show on the radio BBC in Auckland nz. Had the family crying with laughter in no time. 1960s
I listened to satellite broadcast/transmissions from Australia in the early 2000's of The Goon Show, fell in love with their absolute insanity and Harry Secombe's voice.
Your background music is more foreground you need to tone it down as it is hard to hear you which is a shame as it is a very interesting video
Well it's gone 10 years already with no complaints, so it can't be that bad!! And, y'know, it's really too late now to try adjusting things now, some 10 years after all the source files have long been deleted.......
@stevesstuff1450 I wasn't complaining, just an observation, and wow, was that video made 10 years ago very enjoyable
You rotten swine you
Gad, what memories this revives! I was 92 at the time, having just been demobbed when the Great War came to an end, and I can remember listening to this marvellous programme with my grandfather in our living room etc etc etc etc etc........
Brilliant!😮 YOU should have "auditioned" as a writer. 🤑 Hmmm. 🤔 Let's see...102? Well, you've got to start sometime, Sonny ! 🥴
@@sanityassassin8161 "Sonny" Lol.
So you're around 161 years old now??
@@RaphaelKrausz Yes. I dimly remember a boy called Rafe Krausz who was in the top class when I entered primary school. Is it possible that you are he? Or perhaps you are his father. Either way, my grandparents and I send our warmest greetings.
@@RaphaelKrausz I know; bloody whipper snappers think they know it all.
Why did the BBC have to put laughing in the background, it´s so annoying.
The BBC didn't. The shows were recorded live in front of a real audience.
I never missed a show.
I much prefer the green mobile. More like an army vehicle.
I kept mine in pretty much mint condition for years, but then handed them down in the family so they could be played with. Sometimes a twinge of regret, but then toys should be played with and they were.
The Goon show would never have happened without the writing support from the likes of Eric Sykes and Larry Stephens. Stephens does not get enough credit in my opinion. He had to endure constant bullying and insults from Milligan. When Stephens died suddenly of a brain injury, Milligan said " the bastard deserved it." As for Peter Sellers, he would have been detained under Section 3 of The Mental Health Act.
The description of the Dalek action of the first ones is a huge mood NEGL lol Also should be mobile but isn't. Also just like me for real.
On the list of most influential comedic teams ever, one won't call long until getting to this crew. Pretty much every great British Comedian from the 1960 on (Dud and Peter, all of the Pythons to a man to start) give credit these guys as an inspiration.
Michael in the early days ,did a sketch which a map on the table showing a war going on with sounds of battle and puffs of smoke from the table. 🎉 🎉🎉
Michael bentine
Nearly seventy now and still laughing like a loon at the goons. I had all of the records from the Record of the Month Club.
We were brought up on the goons my father loved them I laugh out loud my son's just look they're the best ❤
Would have been better with the musical interludes.
the music was terrible. vapid/nails down a chalkboard dross. the great thing about youtube is i could skip it if it was left in
you missed out the large remote controlled dalek, davros, and supreme or emperor dalek, ? I collected all of these, along with the k9..
I didn't miss them out, I either don't have (large Davros, Supreme), I just wanted this video to show the smaller ones I have in my collection...One day I shall come back (!) with another video showing the 12" remote control Daleks, and some of the Sevans 12" model kits that I've built....and a few of there newer smaller Daleks that I've picked up since this video.....it's just finding the time!! 😃
have 2 12" daleks for spare / repair, with working electronics on both frequencies but no remotes, if know anyone...@@stevesstuff1450
@wednesday_tvshow: When I get the time and inspiration to film a sequel.. 😃 I've not left YT, and follow a bunch of other subjects that take more of my free time - plastic modelling, and audio, hi-fi, vintage equipment, retro games, etc.... I'm not here to make money out of YT, and when I do post, it's purely because it's something that I'm interested in... and more Daleks will follow..... 😉 👍
You still around Steve?
Excellent in depth video. Loved your calm detailed explanations.
I love you
You're most kind, however, as we've never even met, it's probably best to take things slowly...😜
Detail looks great!! Please stick them back in shops .😎😎👍
Remember playing with my dalek in the mid 60's with my cousin, my dad bought it for me when he was working away. Sadly it fell down a flight of stone stairs in my aunties house and broke to pieces. Always liked daleks since then
I had SHADO 2 in about 1973
My Dad heard this live when first aired, and he listened to many hours of recordings with me when i was a boy. Many uproarious guffaws were had by all. There are still lines, scenes, catchphrases and silly voices that my brother and I share to this day, even though my father is long gone. They don't make 'em like this anymore. Further, my Venturer Unit had Harry Secombe as honorary member. We asked if he would swear our oath, and his reply contained a polite refusal on the grounds that he '' .. knew a few oaths ...'' of his own.
Unique and unforgettable.
VERY beautiful and ɓloody funny.
Just turned 60 I used to hide the Radio under my Pillow at Boarding School in the Dormitory during the afternoon it was the one thing that cheered me up being away from my family for so long even now Eccles cracks me up god rest their souls
Why were you at Boarding School when you were 60? Couldn't you find the way out?
I have been nutted by a black box.... a prophetic statement if ever there was one...
I was in an army hospital in Chester in 1955 for 6 weeks and afraid of bursting the stitches in my stomach laughing so much!! Wonderful comedy . . .
Pity it's still not on the radio
I often got in trouble in school because i would draw interceptor's and UFO's in battle during math or English class. I was awarded an art award in Junior High, went to H.S. of art and design in NYC and still paint outer space themed painting's 50 years later. Thanks for the video.
I didn’t start listening to the goons till I moved to Missouri for a short nine month job stint and local radio station out in the middle of nowhere they started playing the goon shows on weekends Saturday I believe I was so impressed I got back to My Home in Los Angeles area eventually I got a CD with every one of their shows and eventually upgraded it to a flash disc At the same time I was working for my boss who was in World War II that was stationed over there and he used to listen to the goon shows over there in England
Regarding the UFO Interceptor, I used to insert a single cap (from a cap gun reel) for an explosive effect!
Regarding the metallic blue Thunderbird 2 (3rd production), I seem to recall hearing that the reason for this colour change from green was because the green was considered to be "too militaristic" at a time when the Vietnam war was regularly in the news. Does anybody know if this is true and, if so, who were the actors in this decisio?
I still have the Herts Plastic Moulders Dalek that I got in 1965. I had the original Marx Dalek. The batteries were U11 as I recall. Now called C batteries. They changed the mechanism because it was said to be too dangerous, not because you couldn't get the batteries.
"You rot-ten swine!" 😂😂😂
