Hiking 20 km on the Kiama Coast Walk (Minnamurra to Gerringong)
Starting in idyllic Minnamurra just after dawn, Mum and I walk the entire 20 km Kiama Coast Walk to Gerringong. It's a fantastic trail that you can take on in smaller pieces too if you're not up to a big day out on the trails.

    Hi Lizzie, Just wanted to say that you just blew my mind. 😂 I'm a French expat in Australia, and have been avidly looking at several of your videos that I found while preparing an upcoming long hike in the Blue Mountains near Sydney. I loved everything about your style of filming, your energy... And then, when I was searching for videos about French cities to show to my adult class of French learning students, UA-cam advised yours... which is the most beautiful hommage to my city I've seen on UA-cam yet! Because I lived in the centre of Orléans - one can even see my former house in your video, I won't say which one though: D This triggered a lot of nostalgia... I can literally recognise every single street or shop or remarkable house and could trace your itinerary on a map from memory 😂 Anyway, the combination of you guiding me in my upcoming trip to the Blue Mountains and showing me my former city in France was mind-blowing 😅❤

      @@TravelwithLizzie Hi Lizzie, We moved to Melbourne as a whole family, for at least 3 years if not more, to follow my husband whose (French) company offered him the opportunity to be an expat in their Australian office. As for me, I'm working (100% remotely of course...) with my own French company while completing a Master's degree ;) In the Blue Mountains, I'll be doing the Grand Cliff Top Walk, over 2 days but adding a lot of detours (Wentworth Falls bottom, Valley of the Waters, the Infinity Pool in Leura Cascades, the Giant Stairway in the Three Sisters, and an afternoon in Scenic World), and also the Grand Canyon and Govetts Leap. Voilà, you know everything :D

      @@TravelwithLizzie Whether for everyone or no one, a chambre de bonne below a certain square footage is legally unrentable. There are over 100,000 of these tiny bedsits all over Paris, most without bathrooms or running water & many, maybe the majority, are sitting empty under Parisian rooftops as they are too small to rent out. Hence, the OP's question: Is it even legal to rent this space to you? If below 85 sq feet or so, then no (unless the minimum size was updated).

    What a ditz! 45 seconds into the video and I'm already underwhelmed by someone who has this dreamy puérile concept of art. First of all, unquestionably, unequivocally, the Louvre is the best museum in all of France and possibly in the world. Next, we have a number of museums which might vie for the 2nd best museum in Paris and is probably more a matter of taste or interest than absolute ranking and l'Orangerie is certainly not in the running. Probably Musée d'Orsay would take second but an argument could be made for the Musée de Cluny (Musée du Moyen Age). Other candidates are the Musée Carnavalet, musée Marmottan, musée Rodin, Jacquemart-André, le Petit Palais and more.

    • @TravelwithLizzie
      @TravelwithLizzie 3 місяці тому

      I’ve always wanted to be called a ditz, so thank you so much! Please remember art is subjective, as it’s an expression of personal perspective - so we will all have our preferences and favourites, however ditzy it may seem to another person. I agree, the Louvre has an incredible and extensive collection… however I find it’s nice to take in a collection pint size (without the crush of people and overwhelming number of pieces). The Musée d’Orsay is my favourite of the big museums in Paris (have a video on that too). Thank you for sharing your perspective! Always value hearing others opinions 🫶

There are a few things I never miss and this is one of them. Typically, the plane from the U.S. lands between 8 and 9 in the morning and one of the ways I overcome jet lag is to get a big dose of sunshine by taking a nice walk. I like to arrive, drop off my luggage wherever I am staying, and take the Metro to somewhere like Chatelet or Saint Germain des Pres and take a nice walk to and through the Tuileries, then go through l'Orangerie to give myself a sumptuous dose of delicious culture. This way, the pleasure builds and there is appreciation for the exercise after 8 or 9 hours on a plane and the knowledge that the sunlight is helping my body's time clock to adjust. By the time I get to the Nympheas, I am ready to sit a while, and where is a better place to do so? It's good to have incentive to stay and enjoy this exquisite pleasure, occasionally moving to a different position. What follows is another walk in the sun, luxuriating in the passionate feeling I have for this grand lady of a city, so happy to be with her again, feeling the vibrations that never fail to comfort and delight.
