👍🙂.
Great episode! I so agree with Mattias' second rule, I find it much easier to get i touch with others when I do solo travels, specially when meeting other solo travelers
Thanks 🙏 for sharing you take and experience on this! 👍
Well done, guys. I really enjoyed this episode and appreciate the topic. I like solo trips much more, but then, of course, as it's been said, group riding with strangers vs. group riding with friends is a totally different experience. For me personally, solitude is not a problem, but sometimes, I get really anxious when I realize it's been a while since I've seen a car or a house. Being completely alone this is where the demons usually appear. But I learned how to work and deal with it. It was a long process, though. Riding a motorcycle is for me a perfect way of making me stronger both physically and mentally so I cherish all the good but also harder moments on the road.
Thanks for your experience and contribution to the subject. I do trail hiking g with backpack as well and there is definitely a difference to be alone in the vast forests while being on feet's. Takes long time to reach civilisation compared to camp alone while ADV riding. That makes some difference in how vulnerable I feel. But I really love to be in situations of solitude in our nature. You really get down to your own and deep in to yourself. Happy Trails! 👍 /Mattias
Noraly and others may be a little more prepared that you know. Leave it at that. They have seen a lot I know.
Definitely, she had to start being well ahead and delay her posts in the early days.
@@nordicadvtv still does two to three months
Don't worry about the females, a lot of why we ride alone. I even take the rear seat off.
My ride is my ride, so your ride is your ride. A cup of coffee and roll on separate ways. No matter the distance. I respect the ride. Mainly I know the experience. I have lived it many years.
In talking about coming home, I like to arrive in the dark. I don't have to see it. I wake up back in my old world and nothing has changed including what I have to do just like I never left.
In all seriousness I know these feelings all so well. I lived alone on the road with work and ADV travel for many many years. It can be tough as hell. My best stayed on the road alone for over 2 and a 1/2 years. She had contact with people along the way. Staying with them and visiting other travelers on the road. However there is a barrier there which you don't cross over. A distance.going down a very lonely road and existence. Many times the phone would ring. Some one i love very much in total desperation begging to live. It tough.
TS, if I can send you some bourbon I will be glad to. I don't know your rules. I live fairly close to the Bourbon Trail, KY 150 when most all of it is made. Jim Beam has a great tour as do others. Also the Bernheim Forest is across the road. Really nice when you all come over.ua-cam.com/video/XBY0xfiiuoA/v-deo.htmlsi=OdSU5WtFui6LEjKI Jim Beam Tour ua-cam.com/video/AG0PsHHuub4/v-deo.htmlsi=HHy5ErPiaHULlNrO This used to be just down the road. They got old and quit, some floods and such as well. Knob Creek. More millionaires on the line than on Wall street ua-cam.com/video/vi0QEgdO9SQ/v-deo.htmlsi=LUvSf0KBbTGQ39NG
We would love to visit the secrets of Kentucky. What an ADV that would be 🤣🍺🍺🍺
Only thing I'm afraid of are mad husbands. Let the good times roll! Right out the back door.
Haha, that's true! ☝️😁
Sorry I missed the Live. I enjoyed the replay. Interesting comments on solo. For me, I had a few bear encounters when younger, which on reflection probably left me with some adult scars. I'm fine solo in the forest, but am pretty alert to what's around me, and handling food etc. Most interesting were the comments as to people moving in on your space. I think that is a delicate area. You put yourselves out there on UA-cam for the world to share in your experiences, with that, comes a level of people wanting to chat or maybe meet you in person. I 100% understand the don't invade my space thing...and no, no one should expect to be welcomed crashing your party either. Why not put some thought to a meet up event or some form of that? I'm a long time follower of all you guys and would love to meet up - but at the same time, I really would not want to overstep there either. As for topics, how about a North American adventure, or , set up a meet up / adventure for loyal long standing followers as a topic. I get different vibes, I may be wrong but Robert and Thomas seem inclined to try and monetize this ADV thing...where Mattias is I video when I feel like it, and whatever I feel like and that's as good as it gets. Monetization of what you are doing may be a scary topic vs just capturing memories and going with the flow...maybe that's a chat for beers and fire one day. Cheers guys. 😉
Thanks for your contribution, Shayne. There is a Q&A in the pipe, when it's your time to ask us stuff. We also have a planned interesting interview. Would love to ride in North America. What a dream ride. For sure we can't complain on people that want to meet up in person. I have met many, that gives a heads up when they pass. Friends fom the Youtubing. All of us appreciate this when time matches. All of us are on different events as well and meet alot of followers and other youtubers or branshpeople. That's really fun. Wish You happy holidays or God Jul as we say over here. /Mattias
@@nordicadvtv Thanks for commenting Mattias - that is one thing that you Scandic guys seem to make a point of doing and helps build the connection, and is much appreciated. You're a class group over there, and I hope to meet one day. Merry Christmas Mattias to you and your family!
Great video guys. Freezing my ass here in Atlantic Canada patiently waiting for next March 😂
Haha, that's great that we're not alone into waiting for spring 😂 always something ☝️😁🤣
Well, since I live in Texas. You know where my vote lies. 👍
Looks like Rob is going! 😁👍✊️✊️
This was my first time listening in and it was awesome! Great job guys cheers!
Oh Thanks 🙏Welcome aboaed! Any subject You would like to beer hear 👀🤠. We are open for suggestions. Happy Trails!
Watched it in full just now (sauna got in the way while you were live, never argue with sauna). Some great takeaways and always great to hear your faces! Thomas might even have inspired to do some cabin content while the bike sits in the garage in the winter, although I’m scared to do it for the same reasons he was. Skål!
Sauna or bastu as we say in Scandinavia is as good as solitude for your soul and healthy.
The 3 days rule was real for me. Alone on a trip to NordKapp from France through Norway/Sweden and via TET, that third day struck me at Lillehammer the morning before starting the TER part here. I was angry, cried a lot, thought about past experiences of love, work etc. It was miserable. I was revisiting scenes of my life in this unplanned trip. As if my mind was out of the day to day boundaries. It was free in some sort. That third night was also terrible. But after that it was just few other moments during the day occasionally. The relief of the trip was NordKapp like a milestone. I felt it like a true relief. The nights were calming even if I didn’t know where I could sleep on the road. The return was smooth even if I had terrible weather some days in Sweden (2km in 2hours in a drenched and flooded forest with 80/20 tires 🤣). I remember a storm at the border with Finland one night. That night had Noe’s Arc vibes 😅 That trip was refreshing even if I past some hard days. Even a year after that trip it changed my vision of me and my surroundings. It is a milestone as my psychologist said. And I’m a psychologist too 🤣
Awesome contribution! You dig very deep into yourself on solotrips that include solitude in the wild. Definitely a rekommendation for everyone now and then, does not need to ADV riding. But to be outhere in situations with solitude. Some of these moments with give You a feeling of a holy moment, where you get very close to your inner and your life, parts of life that formed You to who you are... Happy Trails! /Mattias
@all Thanks for the great engagement and energy in the chat, we love You all! /NADTV Team aka The Tjommi's 😁👍🍺🍺🍺 We are close to be able to monetize this Live Podcast now, that will mean watching and participate is the same as "Buy is a beer" 🍺🤌
What is your @nordic tv set of mind if you meet bear and what you will do then if you meet bear? :)
The Scandinavian bears will avoid You, but if, just stay calm. Be clear with your intentions. Do not sneak around in te woods. Make normal noise. If the bear moved towards you backvoff but clearly and calm. Never turn your back to it. If attacked it goes extremely fast, stay on ground and try to protect your head. Never ever heard anyone that has bear spray or anything like that up here. We do not hide our food either. But I habe thought of not keeping food or snacks where I sleep, keep it on your bike. Happy Trails/ Mattias
It was very brave of Thomas to be so open. Ive traveled solo and with friends. When solo there are times when you can feel a little isolated and any problems you have to deal with them. Also when solo you find as your journey progresses you have a feeling of total freedom having to only consider yourself When riding with friends you can share the your experiences and you remember them together at later date and relive them
I agree, it is a part of "healing" to talk about these feelings and agree that it is brave of Tjommi to share this. /Mattias
Hur kunde jag missa detta igår?! Grattis Robert till 10 000🤯
Skål på dig i efterhand 🍺😂, gott att du deltar när du kan! /Mattias
Thanks ❤
Great to have You here 🙏
Great get together to listen to on the Sunday evening… Love the open, honest discussion. 👌 Thanks.
Thanks for joining in! We were a great bunch of ADV'ers in the live chat. That was awesome to see, engaging!
"Happiness is only real when shared " , a quote from the great movie " into the wild" . I guess its true to a certain extent, however I find adventuring alone makes you more flexible and actually makes it more likely to meet and talk to people from all walks of life you meet along the way. I love travelling alone and be able to change my plans on a daily basis😅
Could not agree more! Happy Trails/Mattias
I went from riding a Kawasaki VN1500 Nomad - a Harley Davidson Road King wannabe.. to å BMW F850GSA.. And then i started following you guys.. wish I did sooner.. could have saved a lot of money and had more gravel fun if I went with a T7 or WR instead ( sorry Mattias..KTM never appealed to me 😢 They’re even more pricey, so I never gave them a look.. ) And my BMW came with the hard panniers.. and I thought that was a winner.. until I discovered Runa and her Giant Loop bags first, and then the reckless 80 you all are using! It’s on my wishlist, maybe I can sell my hard cases and buy Mosko instead.. But then: if I go to Italy or that area, I like the idea of being able to lock the cases while taking a walk in the town.. But as you said: it only takes a screwdriver .. Maybe I can get the same amount for my cases ( they look brand new ) as the reckless 80? The panniers are almost twice the price if you buy them brand new..? Any thoughts?
Thanks for joining! What bike that appeals is very personal and does not need to be excused. Did You go for a T7 or have it in mind? It is a great allround bike for ADV. I rode with simple soft luggage (just Ortliebe drybags) for years and that worked. The Reckless system just makes everything better organaised and snug on the bike. Very durable and robust. You could just put the hardcases for sale and see! Mosko have a great deal on the R80 V3 right now. Really nice deal. We feel very Hubble but happy to hear that You have use for our content. Be sure to join the lives if you habe time! Happy Trails /Mattias
@ oh, I was there last Sunday 😉 Thanks for the feedback!! I am very happy with my GSA, but for off-road use, it is a tad top heavy.. But I’m hoping to get some more practice next season and my dad always said practice makes perfect 😂 God jul, Mattias 🎄🎅🏼
I’m very excited and happy that all 3 of you guys have started this podcast, I know that we will take and also learn from all 3 of you, thank you all.
Thanks 🙏 this love to have you aboard!
Cheers guys! 🍻 Happy to see you back on the TV for the off-season! Thanks for mentioning OUTDURO and the Baltic States! 🙌 We sure hope to have the trio or as Runa said the fantastic four back on the second weekend of September for OUTDURO Scout 2025! 😎 We'll make sure you're all prepared and trained on bears and beers at our event to set off to Romania!
Awesome to have You around the campfire Rick! Outduro is the coolest event around, the fantastic four will always be Outduroristas. 😁💪🔥
Missed the live, watched the replay. Roberts dissertation on using the toilet was damn funny 😆 These RV guys get pretty sensitive as to foreign piss in their systems. I liked Thomas's comments regarding the marketing/ sales, and bike shows, the push for needing the latest greatest. Mattias's comments as to the new wave of smaller bikes - not for me either. I turned 55 this year, and don't want to hurt myself. I'm into the adventure aspect as opposed to single track trails and crazy stuff...getting too old for that . 20 years ago I may have had a different answer. Haha "Yellowstone" - no chew tobacco, but we have "train stations" here :) Funny comments on Runa, - I think what you guys would like is the Colorado BDR , that would be fun, Rocky Mountains invaded by Swedes/ Norwegians, that would be a trip. Cheers guys, keep it going!
Haha, praap on my friend. We are not getting younger but still too curious to not see what that singeltrack leads 😂✊️✊️We would love to explore the US Backcountry, Scandinavian style 👀😅🤣 i think Runa would do as always, not always lead us to shape up, but lure us into sh!t 👀🤣🤣❤️🤠🔥
Unfortunately I missed it 😁
Be sure to stay tuned my friend! / Mattias 😁🍺
Hey guys, nice get together and chat...some good thoughts. You discussed new bikes...what do you think of Noraly's new ' old' bike..? An interesting way to go to get your perfect ADV steed! And as for future episodes...some interesting guests would be good. And finally...where are the Nordic tv stickers....?? Cheers, Steve 💚
Noraly's new bike is a true dreambike! Put together with awesome expertise. Definitely the coolest way to go. Ohhh, we need to get these stickers up running 😅 Cheers! 🍺 /Mattias
@@nordicadvtv I'm a little bit exited and curious if that starts a new hype. I wouldn't be surprised if it's said to be absolutely neccesary to have one of these simple bikes for a ' real ' adventure very soon. There are still myths that these bikes can be maintained by every blacksmith anywhere in the world.
Waiting and looking forward to new live episodes 😊
Stay tuned! ua-cam.com/users/liveXcZs-BqbY24?si=10Emxz-nXYiPCCu2
@ 😃👍🏻
Another Great show boys… easy listening with a little humour. 👍🏻- I am the same as Robert… I only started ADV riding one year ago.
ADV riding are addictive! Endless cool stuff to explore 😁✊️✊️
Beer chat is great, 3 mates just talking about random stuff 🍻😂
That we know how to do! Cheers
😂😂😂😂
Yo. you uploaded well video-work!
Thanks 🙏
I just watched the replay. Thomas I hope you learned something about riding and meeting people. There's a few more people like him out there. Just without all the notoriety. This has been a very interesting presentations I've seen. Yes another one is in order.. He is so busy you better get him booked now. All fun to see people who enjoy life now matter what. Robert will get a good dose of it hanging out with him. Cheers guys Next time Stay safe my Nordic ADV brothers.
Skål Sam! We'll try to catch up with Stewe and his crazy events now and then. I went to his winte event Slaskträffen last February. It was great fun and i made an interview with him around the campfire, about the Africa Eco Race that he just had accomplished at the time. / Mattias
😂😂😂
Thanks for this crazy fun interview Stewe! See You 💪🤠🔥🍺🍺🍺🍺🙌
Great choice Thomas...Lagavulin...one of my favourites! I advise you to try Either Bunnahabhain 12yrs or Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban! ;) - also, quick question...why dont you guys use a Jetboil as your stove?
Lagavulin and Ardbeg is on top of the list. I will write down your suggestion and try them for sure. Glenmorangie Lasanta is an old favourite of mine, but not peat enough. Because Jetboils are only usable to boil water. and they can be really scary to use inside a tent because of the insane amount of Carbon monoxide it produce because of the fins on boiler.
Thanks and you be disappointed with the whisky suggestion...maybe the Bunnahabhain as that has a slight smokey punch but with a sherry cask influence. Quinta Ruban is Mourish!
I have been watching Mattias & Thomas for some time now, thoroughly enjoying the content and adventures across the Sea here from England. This channel is a great idea and will be following it going forward.
Thank you. Really nice to hear this. We highly recommend you to check out Rob's stuff as well. He is the comedian of us 🙌🏻
@@nordicadvtv - that will be my next watch...
Hello Nordic ADV TV How nice it is that you are treating the country with so many prejudices, which it does not deserve at all. In my view, a Utopia, a sublime offroad or on road.. a country where you are greeted with warmth, in every small town, you are greeted by happy smiling citizens of the world who sometimes drive dirty MCs. Have been there quite a few times, both as a transit country, on the way to Turkey. But have also used Romania as a holiday country. Loves to travel the country on the back of my goat. Keep up the good work… REMEMBER if you come to dk. Then you are very welcome to stay with us. Best wishes René
Thank you Rene. Appreciate that 🙌🏻
Happy New year guys and all the best adventures in 24 🎉🍾👊🏽 Erica & Mike & The Netherlands 🇳🇱
Thanks Erica & Mike 🙏 We wish You a Happy New Year as well with many adventures. Is there any topic You would like us to cover?
Curious - what is viking champagne 🤔
Cider, or apple cider from hardanger in Norway. Where cider has been producer for long time has in common he there are viking heritage, like in Normandie and Hardanger f.ex. among other places.
What is that slask treffen winter bike meet you talk about?
A meeting in the dark forests of Småland in Sweden. Mr. All In Travel (Stewe MK) arrange this meeting where we camp outdoors in late February. Alot of stories around the campfire! 💪🤠🔥
Thanks for an instructive TV show. nice to see you again. Would have liked to have come to the Mässe in Stockholm, but unfortunately it falls on my round birthday, and even though I have an understanding wife, she definitely expects me to be at home. It sounds like Romania is on everyone's wish list, and Romania in particular is what I'm really looking forward to in the coming season. my wife and I have taken two months leave, and drive to Turkey, through Poland, Rumania, etc. via Greece and the Baltic countries home. a trip we are very much looking forward to. I don't think I'll have the time and money to visit Norway in ‘24, but I really hope I'm lucky enough to get a ticket to Skog 2024. maybe we'll see you on the roads. Claus Gordon.
Thanks for joining Claus! That sounds like an awesome adventure trip, alot to cover. Is there something You would like us to cover in the show for 2024? Happy Trails! /Mattias
Hey Mathias I have ridden motorcycle most of my life, and have also covered a lot of kilometers in southern Europe, Iceland and Norway. But adventure bikes is new for me. I know how you guys love adventure on small paths and tight routes, but when you travel with a backseat passenger and full luggage, it can be a challenge to find the "right" tracks and the courage to choose TET or other smaller forest roads. when I travel I want to visit the best motorcycle roads and beautiful surroundings. could you make some TV about the best denstinasions you have visited and are best remembered on a motorbike, as information for other “new” motorbike travellers. maybe with tips and tricks in div. countries.
@@twowheeledtravellers I have done alot more long travels with Bibbi on the back seat on my earlier 1200GSA than on the KTM's, at those travels, we focused on Alps, serpentines, cultural POI's and riding the smaller road network along rivers etc. So i know where You are comming from in this, we also rode easier gravel road adventures 2up. Swedish and Norwegian TET are no problem riding 2up on larger adv bike. Mix it with curvy asphalt to see more cultural stuff. Great input to coming episodes Claus 👌
Looks like 2024 will be a great ADV Year! Thanks for joining in to the live chat folks, alot of engagement and fun comments. Please comment below on Your plans for 2024 and are You going to the Moto Show in January at Stockholmsmässan? We will be there, see You!
Sell it to Honda. The make all the uses for it.
😂🙌
Very very good, and interesting! Thanks to all
Thanks for chiming in Kurt, me and Thomas may be converts as well 😂🙌. Just love the passion behind these devices, the team have made difference in this business with desireable functionality.
Ha, I also lost my passport at Folkstone UK port, eventually finding it with much help from the port staff three hours later - my mini adventure nearly didn't happen
Great review guys, you've helped fill in the gaps for me (Rich from UK)
Glad to hear that mate. Nice chatting with you around the bonfire 🔥
Great vid my Nordic ADV Brothers. Glad to hear of the acceptance from fellow riders in a foreign land. Expect nothing different. I'm glad Thomas has experienced this at a younger age so he can carry it on in his travels. Motorcycling and learning from others is a wonderful very enriching experience. It will carry on through all of your lives. I started over 50 yrs ago visiting places and making friends from around the country and world. It has been great and still continues. Mattias I have a couple liters of Kentucky moonshine for you, 180 proof. It will bring out the Beast in you. Good to see and hear from you all. Keep them in line Robert and out of the line up. Later men. Be safe.
Thanks buddy. If life is about making memories and friends, a motorcycle will get you far. /Rob
Great presentation from my Nordic ADV brothers. Many thoughts are the same from my experiences of travel in my early days. Glad Thomas has caught the travel interest at a young age. Makes life much richer seeing others in the world. Pavlin, my friend is something. Great guy. Much the same line of thought. enjoyed teh show. Mattias, 180 proof Kentucky moonshine awaits you. Robert keep them in line and out of the line up. All fun and interesting.
