I’m a fan of colorwork. Look into knitting backwards for the knit flat sweaters. It’s a game charger! One of my favorite “heart eyes” sweater is Breton Spice. The colors a little more bold than my usual, but it’s so awesome!

That Lene sweater just moved near the top of my to-do list. I love a more modern style but I'd never seen it before, so I'm thrilled you brought it forward! I'm planning to do the terracotta sweater instead of the porcelain sweater by leknit -- if your jam is warm coppery/caramel-y colours + off-white-ish, you might enjoy staring at the pretty pictures there too.

I looooveee knitting colorwork. It was a big reason why I wanted to start knitting. I don't know what my "secrets" are because I don't know what's not to like about it hehe I started with colorwork home decor specifically "fancy hen" to practice colorwork without having to worry about the fit. and I do recommend doing a pillow or an ornament or something small to just enjoy the beauty and not worry about if it fits or not. Just for funsies

Well, I used to say I'd never knit a colorwork and didn't like the look of them when I first started knitting but lately, i'm spending time on Ravelry looking through colorwork designs and even created a dream bundle there. Ive been crocheting a lot longer and just made my first colorwork bag (the Corfu bag) which will be a gift. After watching your video I went and checked out Solvana's knitwear page on Ravelry and found she had Josephine Mitts so I purchased those to practice and even see if I'm able to follow her style of writing patterns before purchasing the sweater pattern which I really really love and want to make exactly in red as she has.

These are all so pretty, that Porcelain Sweater is on my list, and now the Smilgas Cardigan too, thank you! I'm definitely a product knitter when it comes to colourwork, the process is not enjoyable, but I'll power through for that FO.

Oh this is very timely for me! I too love making blankets for the family, half scrappy but kind of planned as you’re doing here, half stash diving. But I have a question regarding fiber. I’m always hesitant about mixing fibers, I want to know I can wash the whole thing… it’s happened before that I washed my 90% acrylic blanket on warm (kids had had a stomach bug….) and the rows with wool shrunk… how do you handle it?

Regarding solicitors: If you have a two-story house, hang out one of the upstairs windows and say "whaddaya want?!". Then tell them to leave; no matter who it is if they have no real reason for being at your door or were not invited. You can do the same through a window on a one story. One thing for sure, never open the door for someone - no matter who - if they have no rightful reason to be at your house. I like the pattern you are knitting. I really like knitting afghans.

You can make half white rows on each strips (vertical white), to make the seam much nicer I think, since it will be white to white

Bits and bobs is a blanket I'm thinking of making but I did look at the one you chose too. If I do it I think I'd do the colors sort of like a bargello quilt. Also I tell everyone that I'm a renter and shut the door. No issues, no worries lol

I have also been thinking about making that blanket for a while now. And so far it's been the joining process that have intimidated me from starting, particularly once it'll start to get heavy. But I just had a thought (right before seeing your video). That if I used the idea of the blanket and made it in Tunesian crochet, then maybe it'd be easier, if nothing else then because I wouldn't have to turn my work all the time... Really looking forward to seeing how it works out for you. The colours you chose are lovely!

Your Big Foot is the CUTEST!! Oh dear, I don't think I would enjoy knitting with that faux fur yarn but I do love the result!! My current drama obsession is Brilliant Minds, it's so good (although fair warning the most recent episode made me cryyyyy). I'm also watching A Discovery of Witches which I'm super late to the party with. It kinda feels like a love child of Twilight and ACOTAR but I'm having a lot of fun with it. Witches and vampires being overly dramatic, it's a good time.

Great Plans! I have given up on making real plans. Trying to decide on what I can realistically knit and want to knit stresses me out. Because I want to make 20+ garments every season and I really can't decide which ones I am going to do. So I just cast on whatever I feel like at the time. I have a pretty big stash but will still sometimes buy yarn for a new cast on. I am finishing up the Amesbury Cardigan, the Port jacket and some gift knits. I have the Market Henley and the Super Selene on the needles. Next cast on might be the Cardigan no 9. The Montrose is also in my favourites (its by Coco Amour not Other Loops). Waiting for yarn to start the Dagmar Jacket. The list goes on... 😁

I saw your styling video and came over to this one since the Lauder reminded me of Sweater no 15 that I'm currently knitting - well started and decided to change to a cardigan. I think Lauder fixed the design issues of no 15 - especially the sleeves. I am modifying mine to a v-neck sweater and this video was helpful and a fun watch. You did a great job and your modifications make this even better. This makes a great base for your self-drafted cable pattern.
