@@hiddenhighland That is something I would never constrict myself with. I am sitting here in my bedroom and I see black metal sleigh-like feet under my sofa, a tulip base under the table, tapered wood legs on my sideboard and two upholstered chairs from the 1930’s with fringe on the bottom. They all fit together for different other reasons but has nothing to do with the legs and the legs don’t take away from them working together. Give yourself the leave way to choose the pieces you love forget the legs.

@@macondesigns Yes, I find that my pieces also fit together for other reasons, rather than leg style. I was listening to another designer that was discussing the significance of not mixing different legs styles in a room. I thought- wow- that is not possible for me. It is one of the rules that just won't work for me! I just wondered what your thoughts were around this (and I am not surprised you agree with me ;) ). I think it is significant to make sure that there is a harmony, unity & balance that flows in the selection of pieces in the various rooms...but a home has to have something else that works to makes one's space unique and illustrate the personalities and lives of the people living there (and often it involves bending some of these rules ). As someone who used to work in fashion and now works as a leader in healthcare, my home is my only true outlet to express the artist within me. Thank you for the inspiration as I already have new ideas that I would like to incorporate in my own home. Ive grown tired of seeing other interior designers assert the “rules of style” and rarely encourage personal expression, finding inspiration surrounding you, and bringing out the artist within. @@l.5832 Just looked it up to be sure, in 1971, Oregon was the first state to implement a bottle bill that instituted a bottle deposit of 5 cents. I was born in 1970, so I guess about time my state did it also, that’s what I remember.

@@macondesigns I have a massive amount of blue in my closet, I love wearing blue. The small complimentaries are white or black. My decor is mostly natural wood, browns, beige, and complimentary black metals. Not dismissing what you said, it's a good point. But when I thought of my closet I immediately know it's blue, but I don't like blue in my decor so I commented😅🫣, but your point is valid. Thanks for replying, enjoyed your video a lot!!

But after moving to Europe and experiencing 70‘s furniture especially from Italian and German designers changed my mind.
