    Fascinating…thanks a bunch for this amazingly detailed explanation!! Very elegant but complex design with a lot of safety features. I prescribe this medication and asked my patient to bring a used one so I could dissemble it and then found your video! The ozempic pen ( made by same company) is a 4-dose pak so needle is attached for each administration and dose is dialed every time.

      @peterlanoie 6 днів тому

      I had access to one of the dial-a-dose Ozempic pens, but never saved one from the trash to see how it worked before it was switched to Wegovy.

    Excellent idea to lock the tool table solid without the need for eye bolts. Keeps everything nice and secure. I personally wouldn't cut the plugs off just to get the wiring into the space under the worktop. I'd just make a slot in the corresponding tops for the cable and then screw the frame onto the top perhaps reusing the bits that's been cut out to fill in the bit missing. If you get what I mean.

    I watched this video because I'm worried that a nurse could have damaged my 2.4mg pen. It was my first time taking Wegovy and she was only supposed to twist it 8 clicks so I'd receive a 0.25mg dose but she twisted it all the way to the end and back twice as if it was a toy:( So I took it back from her and went to my doctor. Do you know if that could have damaged the pen or is that something safe to do within the mechanisms of the pen? Thanks for your time.

    • @peterlanoie
      @peterlanoie 2 місяці тому

      I'm definitely not a medical professional so I can't really answer. If you took it to your doctor, I'd trust that they would know far better than me. But also, the pen in the video is a single use/dose pen. I've seen the use of the Ozempic pens that have a "turn to select dose" feature but haven't taken one apart.

    It would seem Siminnovations have now made a new KnobFS version that rules out the DIY Knobster of yours. Do you know of any Open Source projects that has made it possible to use a DIY project like this and still get similar functionality as described here? As a DIY:er myself I was very much looking into building a knobster clone like this, but if there is no support from Air Manager then that is out the window I'm afraid. Any input on this maybe?

      @@peterlanoieThey mention the "DIY Knobster" as not compatible anymore so at least you have made yourself famous, or maybe infamous. :) I'm looking into making my own add-on that somehow mimicks a knobster but with more rotaries (like 5), and few buttons that you can feel (while in VR and memorize what they are mapped to. Like the G1000 knobs. A popup toolbar window that shows you your hardware knobs and which of them are mapped to what to help if you forget the mappings. And some configuration switcher control also in hardware that can be used to switch out a config to another. Also a bit like knobster, but for a whole set of mappings in one step. MobiFlight has all the functionality needed to create the encoder mappings and the config switchings (via preconditions). But I haven't figured a way to connect to mobiflight from an external program via an api to get the status of the config switch, which I need in order to feed the toolbar window the grapics for the current setup. So, veery early in my possible project for this, but creating something like this would be really neat I think. The end result is a "knobster" panel with more than one rotary and a number of buttons that is connected to selected knobs in the cockpit, with the hardware designed for VR use and everything configurable in mobiflight (which makes it easy to create configs). No promises of any success in this. But it looks doable IMHO.

    TLDR: The Wegovy injector pen has a complex design with multiple safety mechanisms to prevent accidental pushing, re-injection, and needle exposure, making it a safe and effective tool for administering medication. 00:00 🔍 The injector pen is disassembled to show the parts inside and how they work, including the needle, vial, and assembly process. 01:57 🔧 The injector pen is designed to stay together and has a spring to prevent accidental pushing, with a complex back end cap. 03:11 🔍 The Wegovy injector pen uses a multi-part mold with flexible tabs, arms, a syringe plunger, a long spring, and a steel pin for axial stability, all housed within a sleeve with slots and a channel, with the end cap locking in a restricted rotation. 05:06 🖊 The Wegovy injector pen works by rotating and assembling it to engage with the plunger, using tabs and arms that flex outward when the outer sleeve is in the right position. 07:37 🖊 Assemble, prime, and use a sleeve for the Wegovy injector pen, with a gray piece activating flexible arms and bosses to rotate against the skin. 09:46 🖋 The Wegovy injector pen has a design that prevents re-injection and needle exposure, with a metal strip as a safety mechanism. 11:58 🖊 The Wegovy injector pen has a mechanism to prevent jamming and the plunger from being pushed back in after activation. 14:39 🔧 The injector pen works by keeping the spring loaded, using a guide sleeve for the syringe, and engaging with bosses to prevent the plunger from coming out.

    Google how to handle a rotary encoder with D-type flip-flops. You need two flip-flops per encoder, but that's fine because you can get a quad flip-flop in a single IC and it will handle your two encoders. This will translate the rotation of the knob to look like button presses on two wires (which can then be assigned to the "up" and "down" commands for an instrument).

      This rig is home built. The electronic components (controllers, displays, button panel) are purchased. The frame and "glare shield" were my own design and construction. The electronic components all together were about $1000US. The frame was all from lumber that I had on hand already so I don't know how much it would be. It's mostly 3/4" plywood, 2x4s, 1x6 planks, and a handfull of screws. The 2 instrument displays are touch screens. At one point they both worked. Then one stopped responding to touch commands, but it's been mostly used for display. I think the problem is a windows touch screen issue, not the screen itself. Note that when showing G1000 screens, it doesn't have all the perimeter buttons and such. It's not totally realistic. The touch screens are most effective with Air Manager powered traditional instruments. Combined with the Knobster hardware knob, it works pretty well (touch a virtual knob to select it, such as the altimeter barometer knob, or an OBS heading knob, then use the Knobster to manipulate it).

      I used a regular half sheet large white stick on shipping label (Avery 8126) and on it printed a grid of white text with black background. I forget exactly what I used for the text layout, but anything that would let you make a grid/table and format it how you like and to the reasonable dimensions should work. I assume that I used a google sheet or open office spreadsheet. Printed these out on the sheet, then cut them all out at the grid lines. After cutting, the white of the paper showed through so I also used a sharpie to go back over all the lines to darken the edges.
