Letitia Montoya & Monica A Powerful Look at Santa Fe's Unhoused Crisis! By Letitia Montoya
Letitia Montoya & Monica A Powerful Look at Santa Fe's Unhoused Crisis! By Letitia Montoya!
The issue of homelessness in Santa Fe has reached a breaking point, and it’s clear that the city needs a fresh perspective and new leadership to create real change. The current city government has failed to address the root causes of the housing crisis, leaving many individuals and families without stable homes. While symbolic actions and debates over cultural issues may capture headlines, they do little to address the pressing needs of Santa Fe’s most vulnerable residents. Leadership has not prioritized what matters most: affordable housing, rent control, and comprehensive support services.
The current housing crisis reflects years of neglect and ineffective policies. Rent continues to climb, pricing out many low- and middle-income residents, while affordable housing developments are too slow to materialize. Programs like Section 8 fail to keep up with inflation, and there is no rent control to protect tenants from sudden and excessive increases. Despite years of promises, the city has done little to provide meaningful relief to those who are struggling.
What Santa Fe needs now is a bold and innovative approach to leadership. The same officials and strategies that have brought the city to this point will not solve the crisis. It’s time to focus on long-term solutions: implementing policies that regulate rent increases, expediting the construction of truly affordable housing, and funding the programs that support residents in need. These changes require leaders with the vision, courage, and determination to make housing a priority.
That is why I am here-to bring that change. As a leader for Santa Fe, I will make affordable housing a top priority. The city cannot afford to continue down this path of neglect and superficial solutions. My vision is one of a city where every resident has access to stable housing, where families are not forced out by rising rents, and where the government works tirelessly to ensure everyone has a place to call home. Together, we can build a Santa Fe that reflects the values of care, inclusion, and opportunity for all. Letitia for Santa Fe means leadership for real change. Let’s make it happen.

Watching your video and think it’s time to try this. Your recipe is written good.
Im not a Hispanic woman can I still bake them and use the heart and star cookie cutter? Also, your tv is too loud in the background!!
I like to add fresh pinto beans also meat in my chile lettuce cheese and onion!
Looks good I will try thank you
HELLO... I live in New Mexico too... Will be moving to ABQ soon ... I hope. This is an EXCELLENT VIDEO Thank YOU so much for sharing this video Do you also have a video on how to make Green Chile Stew? Thank you for your help.
THANKS YOU GOODNESS 🌟 DAPHNE COTTON ALWAYS 💜, AWESOME
Nice video. The little girl is so excited to be helping. 🙂 Cute!
One thing to remember is that once you think it's done, the shells are still hot and will continue cooking until cooled off. So leave it a little under cook and they will be fine.
what is your process of shelling the pinon nuts?
Clock hammer.
They sell a tool but I got a clock hammer from the store.
Yummy
Pinon must be dryed out first
Are you not stirring each time you put back in the oven?
It's up to you if you want to stir them.
20 min. Total?
If you want to use. MORRELL LARD , IF THE MOST POISONOUS SHIT THERE'S IN THE MARKET CANCER DEATH
Try it with quartered Patitas That’s our favorite way to make it! Also we use canned pazole I haven’t seen it dry before in Illinois!
That works as well.
Hi! Looked for lard cookies and found your channel, I went back a few videos to see how you cut your hand, also I love that abstract wood crucifix hanging behind you!
I am a Hispanic catholic women.
@@tishsdishs so am I I adore the cross decor. It was fantastic.
Does a properly roasted piñon have a rubbery texture?
No, you need to roast it for a little bit longer. Be careful not to burn it.
@@tishsdishs thanks. It’s been 40 years since I last had piñons to roast & snack on, so I couldn’t remember!

A nice bountiful year for Piñon in northern New Mexico❤❤❤ roasting up some batches now.❤❤❤❤ Thanks for your process. Mine usually take a little longer than 15 minutes.
I'm in Pie Town and have a hundred trees. It's all new to me, but I'm figuring it out. This is the first season I have noticed them being abundant. It's neat to listen to elk bugling while harvesting pinons.
It all depends on where you live; the piñon will cook differently, and even the type of oven can make a difference.
Horrible smell to it
Yes it is.
Delicious place!!!
Yes it is good food.

Can you tell me the type/brand of cement you used for the shower floor?

Much love right back to you! I'm so touched to hear that you're cooking fresh piñon and carrying on your dad's tradition. It's beautiful how these memories and traditions live on, even when our loved ones are no longer with us. I'm glad I could help you reconnect with that special part of him. Thank you for sharing this with me. 🙏🏼❤️
Thanks for posting this from a former resident of Farmington, Gallup, and Albuquerque. I'd suggest adding "New Mexico" to the title to get more views. Also, please consider recording in landscape (horizontal) format.
Thank you so much for your suggestions and for sharing your connection as a former resident of Farmington, Gallup, and Albuquerque! 🙌 I really appreciate the tip about adding 'New Mexico' to the title-great idea! I am VERY disappointed in the vacuuming process of this product. Sealing works fine; cutter works fine; but the vacuum/seal lacks A LOT! In the infomercial, they don't show you the extremely difficult part of putting bag under that plate and in the groove. It is hard to do, bag won't stay in groove, and most of the time the vacuum just runs and runs and runs. I have to stop that process and hit seal very quickly just to keep some of the air out. I do like the portability of the product. Like I said, the sealing part for items (sealing bags, chips, frozen food bags) works fine. Otherwise, I would have sent this back the day after I got it. But, I gave away the sealer I had since I was getting this 'amazing' product. Just watch the infomercial and you'll see what I mean that you never see the actual step where the bag is placed to perform the vacuum/seal. In fact, she never shows it working, either. Hope it did much better for her.
I use it but I don't like how it works.
Thanks! Looks great and I’m going to try it.
LMFAO. I just found some in my cabinet in s Carolina.
Great pie crust recipe 👍The pie turned out beautiful, nice design in center also! My Mom is from New Mexico. I have tons of relatives there. On my channel I have a few recipes from there. Soapapillas, chili Colorado, etc. Good luck to you😊
Hello, do uou have a recipe for chicos, pinto beans and smoked pork belly? I had it in Santa Fe but have never found a recipe. Thank you
When you make your pinto beans just add the smoked pork belly to the beans and let it cook with them.
If you want a recipe to follow I will send it to you via email. Just let me know.

Sorry. I think that video is when I started doing my first videos. My videos are getting better. I can send you the Biscochito recipe if you like. My email is tishsdishs@gmail.com
The jar sealers are for dry goods or dehydrated foods .It keeps food fresh or for long term storage. It absolutely is NOT for canning !
My sealer broke and I sent it back. It has not gotten back to me yet. When I'm canning I us the old fashion way and use my grandmothers recipe. Thank you for your information.
