Those folks are brave to be out there in that water. MY hat is off to them and everyone who has worked so hard. In the grand scheme Caldwell was pretty blessed. That isn't to negate the suffering of anyone in the community.

This is breaking my heart. Used to take week long hunting trips up there, to a cabin with a creek and water wheel generator that powered the lights in the cabin. I hope and pray everyone's ok and made it through this storm.

dang its bad when the road has become the river and is flowing that fast! only thing i would be worried is if they hit a washout area that is not visible because of the muddy water or an area where the road is just gone even that big truck will become stuck

Flashbacks of being on ground 0 of hurricane Katrina with the Army in the National Guard.I'm a disabled vete right now and I want to volunteer badly but physically i'm not able to anymore and i'm only 38 man, Three deployments on top of it too And I'll never compare it to, but you can't prepare for something like this, no matter how much you build. I’m 20 miles from this area and only had power loss although stream and river homes took on water. I know this area well. All the mountains feed to those streams that flooded. Most of the houses are next to streams. Those homes will be total losses.

My heart hurts for the miliions of AMERICANS suffering in 5 (oddly enough, all conservative strongholds for Trump) states whose lives were destroyed by a hurricaine and now find themselves abandoned by their government to fend for themselves for survival. Our "PRESIDENT"/administration can ship our military and equipment to foreign countries along with our tax dollars to protect foreign lands and prop up commie dictators but refuses to use American money and resources to protect, suppirt or defend our own people! How to throw an election when the ENTIRE NATION finds your party, its policies and those who represent it utterly despicable??? Hmmmm...
