This was a good one
very interesting way of looking at tourism! more videos like this would be so nice! looking forward to see more from you!
Thank you!!
Identity of the builderIn the early 2000s, amateur historian Mary Jean Cook theorized the probable builder of the staircase as François-Jean "Frank" or "Frenchy" Rochas (1843-1894), a reclusive rancher and occasional carpenter who came to New Mexico from France around the 1870s.
Fascinating. Thanks for the extra info
As a Californian I’d prefer western instead of hipster 1000%
Good to hear, partner! What part of Cali are you from?
@@josephlearnstheworld Northern California working in the oil and gas industry. I’ve worked in your great state and just bought my truck recently from San Antonio. You do great work!!!
@@Impopeye thanks very much. I bet you've been around here if you're in oil and gas. Did you get the Chevy Silverado Texas Edition?! My buddy from Texas who lives in Colorado came back just to get that one and he gets funny looks from all his neighbors.
@@josephlearnstheworld lol yes I e worked in port Arthur and yes I bought a black Silverado crew cab in SA. With Texas plates lol not changing it it’s registered to my other address there.

THANK YOU ST JOSEPH !!!! For this beautiful staircase Amen 🙏 amen 🙏 amen 🙏 ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️🕊🕊🕊🕊

Not true. Not from a single piece of wood. That’s missing the point. It was built using wooden pegs instead of nails or glue to hold it together.
Hmm, I wish they would be more clear about that at the chapel with the info they give.
@@josephlearnstheworld I’ve heard a few versions on other videos. There are some sources that seem pretty reliable, but I kid you not I watched 5 videos that had 5 variations it’s wild. The wood peg construction is amazing BTW. It will last forever. I kid you not. 👍
@@TheLumberJacked I tried to keep mine as close to the info the display at the chapel. I only added that he didn't give his name, since there's no record of his name.
I love old west firearms more than modern, even through it's old but classic and legend
There is a lot of history surrounding the classics, plus they are super iconic, I'll always be fascinated with them. But you really can't beat the modern ones for self defense.

It is!!
What a miracle
Yes indeed
A true artist. Not for pay. ❤AMEN
I never thought about it like that, but you're right.
The nuns praided for help because they had no money. So Saint Joseph, the foster father from Jesus Christ came from heaven and built this wonderful starecase. He needn't any money...
Saints Joseph father of Jesus pray for us. Safe us Guide us teach us as we love you thank you and praise you adore you.
❤
Just wondering.... do you give a tip to the shaper when buying a new, shaped, hat?
I did, but I also took up nearly his entire morning for filming so I tried to give as much as I could. But I think normally the whole process would only take 20-30 minutes. I'd still recommend a tip if you can.
@@josephlearnstheworld thanks. I normally do tip; but sometimes it seems to make people uncomfortable if I ask. When asked on a forum recently, it was suggested that stores don't allow tips. I want to do what's right.
@@advnturer69 I agree, and since it was my first go I figured I'd do it. And now I'll always do it, Raul is now my hat shaper for life.
St. Joseph made it ❤
❤
😮jesus! Wow! It make sense now! I have never realized that who had made that in such a magnificent craftsmanship!.
❤
Super interesting. Great narration and storytelling
Thank you for telling me about this place.
I could watch them in slow motion making those palm sugar circles all day. Relaxing. And love seeing the bees on that flower.
That dish is pretty. The ceramic lids are cute!
It's a really cool dish that is commonly found in Vietnamese houses. It reminds me of Gaggie's candy dish since I always scope it out and make my way to it whenever I go into someone's house.
Fascinating, cheers for sharing
Thanks man ❤
Thanks for sharing this great work, "saludos" from Mexico!

so incredible
Santa Fe is a great place to visit. We saw the chapel and this video is a cool reminder of the visit. Good job!
A great place, I wasn't sure if you went to the chapel or not.
it was such a great visit
I miss it
I loved it.
Jesus the Carpenter did it❤🙏🏽
❤
I have seen the documentary on these stairs it’s the work of a angle for sure
I didn't know there was a documentary about them. I'd like to see it, do you know the name?
*Angel
❤ Must have been Lord Jesus since He was once a carpenter Himself or an angel to substitute as ordinary laborer. 😂 😮 🎉
❤
Railing was added later?
Yes, if you visit the chapel you can see old pictures of just the spiral stairs without guardrails. It was pretty easy for someone to fall off so they added railing for safety.
@@josephlearnstheworld yes I can imagine
Jesus made it, The miracle staircase x
❤
St. Joseph built it, not Jesus.
Do you have proof
@@БоСиннн The nuns , who prayed for heavenly help, because they had no money ,described this man who came soon after their prayer to the monastery. They didn't ask this foreigner for help. He offered them to built the staircase although the nuns didn't tell him about their problem! Than he built alone this mysterious starecase. The nuns where convinced, that he was Saint Joseph. Because they saw him every day - the foster father of Jesus Christ who was a carpenter during his life.
Jesus perhaps????
❤
@rickscully The nuns who praid to God for help, because they had no money to pay an architect or a carpenter, said, it was Saint Joseph, the foster father of Jesus Christ.
It was Jesus he was a carpenter 😂😂😂😂😂
Wow! And how do you know that it wasn't? There truly are angels that walk amongst us, WHY CAN'T CHRIST? He is not one to joke about or make mockery of.
@@user-qm9oe4hh2q what I said is what I meant because he was a carpenter 🪚
No, it was Saint Joseph!
He did it Twice.😮
Are you talking about the shape? It makes 2 full spirals.
No, I heard the story when I was young when we visited it and something happened that he had build it a second time. It is incredibly done.😊@josephlearnstheworld
@@user-bj8se2me5o oh wow, I didn't know that part of the story. Very cool, thank you.
A SINGLE piece of wood? That makes me skeptical.
Exactly
That's why it's so incredible. If you're ever in Santa Fe I recommend you see it in person. The entrance is either free or a very small fee, I can't remember, this was filmed last year.
