Nobody ever mentions that the Shield outputs audio from its USB ports, providing better audio than via HDMI going to a TV. I have an Emotiva preamp that has USB input, so I just use this for direct audio, and the HDMI is for video. The Shield remote is certainly better than the Chromecast remote, which seems to be made of buttered Teflon.

Fantastic review! This seems like the monitor I'm looking for. I find the position of the connections useful, as I use USB-A for dongles and thumb drives, and having them accessable will be more useful than on the rear where I would have to fumble around. It would be nice if the USB-C *input* was on the back, but I think I can live with that.

Apple is trash no thanks! I will stick to my open source and not be controlled like all the puppets.

It is an old problem that happens in LG monitors with USB-C. 27UN880 shares the same problem. Other ports are good. USB-C doesn't work. Just thinking LG monitors don't have decent USB-C connection support yet.

Same issue here. My type c has been loose for the last 6 months , screen went black, gave a little wiggle and it finally came loose and stopped working. So frustrating!

I thought that my type-C cable broke but after checking out the port - it moves around as it shouldn't. Will try to fix it at local services bc once you try "one-cable feature" you cannot go back

I love both devices and own them both! Shield is better if you want to download whatever you want! Stremio and Kodi and jellyfin etc! Apple is better if you want a better streaming experience. I think IPTV even looks better on the ATV. DTS and amazing gaming on the shield and Dolby vision and HDR+ on ATV so a fair trade off. So they are both great for different reasons. And yes I like the remote on the ATV way better. The shield remote is a pain in the ass. And batteries don’t last long.

I've literally just had this happen to me. The 4K monitor was stuck in 1080p and I couldn't figure out the cause. I attempted to swap out the thunderbolt cable I was using for video and PD, and as I removed the cable, the UBC C port on the back of the LG Ultrafine 4K monitor came away with the USB C cable. I still have DisplayPort and 2 HDMI ports, but this is very disappointing given that I bought the monitor 8 months ago (fr/ 3rd-party seller via Amazon) specifically to use the 'one cable' set-up with its 96w PD feature. Off to check out the warranty situation.

The 13 Mini is my daily use tech. I shoot loads of video Shorts and photos for training class presentations. The always there size, one hand use and excellent results keep me a fan. I would like too see a Mini Pro with macro options.

Same problem here. No idea what caused it, I didn't force the cable. I'd like to fix it, but don't know how. At least the HDMI port still works.

Why no one mention about the pixel density of 164ppi? Which is actual resolution you choose to rendered from Mac OS? If 3840 x 2560 then will the text be displayed too small in size?

I own the 6, 6a, and 7a. All have heating issues which I'm upset about. The camera on pixel is the only reason why I'll use them. Now I Switched to Motorola which is closest to stock Android. I definitely have no regrets cause the battery life is much better as well as turbo charging and no heating issues.

I don't know what to decide between these two to play games, including ReDream and PPSSPP emulators and has better power.

The Pixel Camera is very impressive, only time it really didnt look as good was with the normal video

The high refresh is kinda useless for me becuase the content we consume doesn't hit above 60 fps. It also drains the battery faster.

HAVE 7a Coral color and this device blows away a lot devices...getting 6 sot with hard use.

The pictures of the iphone 14 pro are way too dark and they have no shadow detail. Outrageous tbh considering the high price

As the Final Cut Pro program for iPad Pro lacks an image stabilization function, it is useless to me as I am a wildlife videographer and absolutely need effective stabilization of video capabilities. And if I opt to use the DaVinci Resolve movie making program instead for making movies on the iPad Pro, I find that there is NOT a voice-over function in the DaVainci Resolve program. There are, admittedly, somewhat cumbersome ways around this, such as opening two simultaneous windows (one being the DaVinci Resolve Program and the other being the iPad Voice Memos program-- one then just takes the recorded voice over from Voice Memos and imports it into the DaVinci resolve movie being made) or importing voice-over from that recorded on the iPhone, but I sure wish DaVinci resolve had a voice-over function as an internal part of the program. These are deal breakers for me getting the iPad as I would otherwise like to use its convenient size for traveling and making wildlife wildlife movies while on safari.

I'm using pixel 6a and the refresh rate and fingerprint unlock is not a deal breaker for me. It's smooth and fast. Camera is very reliable and I'm happy that I bought this device. Easy to recommend.
