That primary drive belt looked rather loose,
Hi, Yes, I agree thanks, it will need to be tensioned when I put the clutch back together.
Dead right,
Thanks for the idiots version of the basic timing install. I just got done making a fresh harness for my Fastback, adding the Trispark, new regulator, alternator etc, but they were less than clear in their instructions, or maybe they were perfectly clear, and I am said idiot your video was made for!
Hi, welcome to the channel, I am glad that it was helpful
Very useful, sir. Thank you for posting these videos.
Your channel popped up on my feed and I'm glad it did. Very difficult to find someone that has the knowledge of time of how to work on these historical motorcycles. Also noted the paint on your frame and alloy casings in very good order, good job!.
Welcome aboard! Hi and thank you for the kind comments!
The music is too loud for the correct voiceover volume. Indeed id it necessary? Favourite spanners, oh yes!
Hi, Thank you for your comment; I am very new to this and I have been trying different things. I will do music or microphone from now on.
nice keep them coming nice job
Hi, thanks for the encouragement. I have several projects to do including a BSA A65 and a BSA Bantam, from my youth
Good day I know the workshop manual quotes 70f lb for the clutch center .But most people use 40f lb and blue locktight as 70 lb can shear the circlip.Regards.Geoff.
Hi Geoff, thanks for the info, very interesting, I have a clicking sound from that area and will be documenting my investigation soon. Best Regards..........David
spot on good mechanical instruction ..thinking of putting one on my commando
Hi John, I spent a lot of time researching the various belt drives, including which ones work with the Alton electric start, I concluded that the RGM one seemed very good to me. I cannot, however, endorse it yet as I am still reassembling my MK2A and I have not ridden the bike yet. All the best with your Norton and which ever route you go, I would be interested in hearing your results...
Thank you for this demonstration of assembly procedures .
Part 2 coming soon
If the only tool you have is a hammer all the world is nails; I have a new lathe so all the world needs turning...🤔
I love those old Triumph Motorcycles they are great and they are very classic looking. My only complaint is they do not compare in performance when you start talkin about a Honda 300 Scrambler or superhawk or a Yamaha Big Bear scrambler those Japanese motorcycles put those old triumphs to shame completely out-of-date and do not have performance at all but they do look better if you're going for a beauty contest.
Hi Eric, thanks for the comment, I agree that there are many great bikes that eclipse the Triumphs but I was in my late teens when Triumphs were around in rural England as well as BSAs and nostalgia is a powerful motivator.
@@DiningRoomGarage-rv4lh copy that understand and I had a couple of those old bikes. And the 650s I had were classic. But I switched over to Honda and then I got a Kawasaki 500 3 cylinder in 1970 it had 60 horsepower Factory I got about 30 horsepower more out of it so I was really at about 90 horsepower I strip down over 100 pounds off that bike and I had a bike that would fly. At any time I got there a Harley-Davidson or a Triumph for any of those old Royal enfield's or Norton's I could do a wheel stand at about 80 miles an hour and Fly Right on by.
Looking at this vintage Triumph, l realize l had forgotten about the tie down rack that they had for many years.
Hi Robert, I have not used the rack, but the tank had the fixing holes so it made sense to fit the rack. Also I do like the look! Thanks for the comment... David
