Comparative Severity... Catastrophic.
Summary:
An explosively intensifying storm strikes Wichita, Kansas on May 15, 2002. The storm produced deadly hail and ultimately the deadliest tornado ever recorded in the United States of America. This storm came disturbingly shortly after a county-wide alert for the state tornado test was sent out. The confusion only led more to pass.
Notes:
This timeline only differs minimally from our own. Certain details may be mismatched; for example, the "Tornado Emergency" alert wouldn't appear on television as seen here... the Emergency Alert System Protocol differs.
