I was visiting my wonderful Aunt and Uncle in Chilliwack. My uncle loves to drive and we were heading home from another adventure to one of the local Lakes. The sunset was incredible and I thought to myself, you should be recording this, and started recording from the back seat. I knew what I was seeing was magnificent and was hopeful it would look turn out. When I re-watched the footage, I was thrilled. I hope all is well across the pond. Best...Corrie

I've seen them at night and startled a family of 5 one evening as I was simply walking down the road. I'm not sure who was more terrified, me or the family. They all stood up and hissed at me. I slowly stepped back, turned and ran as fast my skinny legs could move. It was a much better scene with this one, it had no idea I was watching it for almost half an hour. It's usually a pretty good indication something interesting is happening when the are crows constantly squawking and dive bombing. It's usually a bird of prey the crows go after. I've been too focused on my other channel. When I saw the parents and the babies, it brought the biggest smile to my face. I'm not the biggest fan of Canadian Geese, they are quite a menace. That being said, the goslings are just so darned cute and quite funny too. I kept my distance and the parents were OK with me standing and watching, Dad had a close watch on me. My reason for winter travel is the cost, for everything. Hotels are less money, there are less people, and the train briefly goes on sale a couple of times a year. From what I heard from passengers that have done this journey in the spring and summer, said the views are much more stunning in the winter because there isn't so much foliage along the tracks. With the less foliage, you can see rivers and lakes you wouldn't other wise see. Best....Corrie

@coldlakealta4043, Bob, your beautiful comment warmed my heart and I am truly grateful. I couldn't agree more about the zen-like moments experienced on the train. My heart and soul got the desired wind down of life, while on the train. Most days were spend just staring out the window watching the beautiful world go by, and then eating one scrumptious meal after the next for days. No cel service and no wifi for much of the journey, is my favourite part. Holding my camera as steady as I can, while it's pressed tight up against the window is still relaxation therapy for me. My arms get a bit tired and my fingers get in the way once in a while, and reflections happen, but that's real life. Like you said, a good book in hand, the gentle sway of the train, a hot cup of tea to sip on and it is a soulful journey few will ever the pleasure to experience. I hope my work brings peace and joy to those that will never have a chance to take this spectacular journey. Being blind in my left eye really enhances how truly grateful I am to have one "good eye". I am fortunate every day that I can see and to be able to share with the world "what I see". Thanks Bob, you've been on this journey with me for a long time and I really hope we get that "Beaver Ride". Be well my friend. Best....Corrie

Capilano is definitely a rainforest. The Great Bear rainforest is BC's largest and encompasses 6.4million hectares(about the size of Ireland) and is truly magnificent. It is a bucket list dream to visit the Great Bear rainforest.....someday. Best....Corrie

@coldlakealta4043, Bob, your words couldn't be more true, and I am grateful for your insight. I agree with your secret, it's one of the reasons I've taken a love of train travel. The beauty of the Canadian train......no internet! You can get data when close to a major city, but that's about it. I had a great read on the train, something I often don't make enough time to do. I didn't close my blinds once, the world passing by is too beautiful to not see, I wished the ride would never end. It was a magical experience to start on the train in Vancouver and end in Vancouver. It was also spectacular to fly Harbour Air on a Twin Otter from Victoria and to end the journey in the right seat in an Otter landing in Victoria. A Beaver ride with you is next on the bucket list! @coldlakealta4043, Bob, yes, the train stops in Hornepayne going both ways. If I recall, both stops east and west were very late at night. Dinner in the dining car is shared with other passengers, one night a nice young man joined the table. He was heading from Toronto to Hornepayne, he works for CN. A good friend of mine owns a small airline(Forde Lake Air Services) that flys Beavers out of Hornepayne. Best....Corrie

I am just in the process of editing more train scenes of the train rolling down the tracks. The scenery across the country changes drastically.
