Oh No!!! Did I mix my resin wrong? Part 1
Just got one from TS thanks for sharing your experience 😊
The latch on the door is designed for safety purposes. It avoids easy access from predators or accidental release. Nice review 👍🏼
Love this coop, where did you purchase it?
Tractor Supply. It hasn't been available for a while. I don't know if they have them back in stock or not.
It very nice. My only concern is that the roost is to close to the nest boxes. They poop in the boxes.
I built a cover for my nesting boxes.
Did you need a zoning permit? How long did it take to assemble? Thanks!
No, I didn't. I am not inside city limits.
Looks nice
What about predators? What are you doing about them raising the chicken coop and run off the ground?
We found a tie down kit on Amazon. It's not going anywhere.
That's a cute story...one for the ages..thanks for sharing it..chick's are cute..ps lots people have that problem with those locks..
Good to know I'm not the only one.
🐓. Rude birds 😂
Lol....always. They say and do what we want to. Lol
New subscriber from Azle.
Thanks a bundle. Glad to have you.
My poor dog! I thought my dog was barking and whining while I was wearing my headphones. I kept pausing the video and asking him what he was fussing at 😂 now I know why he thought I was crazy 🤣
Lol....dogs are always smarter than we are.
@@Shauna_BeeGee Yeah they are 🥰
Good luck 👍
Thanks a bunch. 2 hens just isn't enough.
I have the same latch on my coop, I'm sure you are aware but that latch wouldn't be strong enough to keep you in if you are willing to break it...
Did not even think about that. I was panicking.
What a great idea using sail cloth! You are giving me some ideas!
I'm just now seeing your comment. Thank you and I'm glad you got ideas.
Beautiful fluffy butts!!
This is wonderful!! Love all the updates and the extra space is great!!
Thank you so much. It's ti.e for a new video. I have made changes...lol

It's looking so good! Thanks so much for the videos. We just purchased this exact coop last week. I think it is one of the best pre fab coops that I have seen. I did see someone putting clear caulk where the wood meets the metal, I think so rain water doesn't sit in there and rot the wood. Have fun! We get our chicks next week.
I've had this a year now and it's still holding up well.
I want to thank you for the video, and your viewers for their helpful comments. It was so hard to tell from the website, and my local stores did not have any samples. Now that it has beef several months, are you still happy with it. This looks good for my needs, with slight modifications.
I am still happy with it almost a year later. A couple of things I have done is 1. Closed in the run with tarps and installed roosts in there. It drastically I creased the number of chickens I can house. 2. I put an automatic door on it. Those big doors get caught by the wind pretty easily and are diffuse to keep open. I'm in Texas so the wind can be awful. 3. I installed 9" desk fans in the ceiling of each section to keep the air flowing in the summer. With all.of that being said. The last I checked, these were no longer available. So you may find a used one....but not sure that you will find a new one.
I believe some folks laugh at the ensures taken to predator proof a coop. Any livestock you have have is an investment in money and time. Racoons are skilled artist at "getting in". If you think you've done to much you probably haven't. Good job with your coop.
Thank you very much!
I cant find this coop at the Tractor supply store.
It's not available. I don't know if that is temporary or if it was discontinued.
@@Shauna_BeeGee thank you. They have another version that is $1,499 and not nearly as roomy as your coop. You have a nice setup for your feather babies 😉 Thanks for the great video 😀
Where did yall get the tie downs at?
Checking with my husband. I believe it was Amazon....give me a few minutes.
Here you go..... ShelterLogic 4-Piece Easy Hook Anchor Kit with 4 Cable Clamps and Driving Rod, 30-Inch a.co/d/eSJu58T
Awesome thank you very much!
You are very welcome. Thanks for watching.
Your coop is really nice! Is it aluminum? I'm trying to turn an aluminum shed I have, into a chicken coop. I live in southern California, and it is 3 digits here most of the summer and fall. What is your ventilation like in the coop, windows, and does it have a floor, or on dirt? Does it stay cool enough? Your coop is beautiful and looks secure from predators. Thank you for showing it to us❣️
Thank you. I don't think the coop is available right now. It dies have a wood floor in the "coop" portion. The "run" section is dirt. The "coop" section is a outdoor paneling. We had 113 degree heat this summer and it definitely did not stay cool....but nothing would in that. I would like to see more ventilation for summer....for winter, I think it is fine.

Wow... I am glad to see you and the chickens doing well.
Thank you. How are you?
@@Shauna_BeeGee everything here is OK!
Wonderful!!
Boss looks like my Rocky, but my rooster is great. He never attacked us and he protects his girls. We can even hold him without him going crazy.
He's a butthead. He doesn't have spurs so he hasn't hurt me. But I won't let him hurt me either.
Cool, I can’t wait until spring. That will be our first attempt to hatch some eggs.
So far so good. I've got 3 I side and 6 under my frizzle. Trying to figure out how I'm going to get her some clean bedding without .asking her angry.
We missed you! I am so glad you and your chickens are doing well 🐓
Thank you. I'm back. My husband fixed my computer o er the weekend so we are up and running.
Hahaha I got locked inside the coop once and I didn't have my phone on me.
I had to work hard not to panic.....lol
I have the same coop and also did a review. The coop has done well after 2 years. I think it was a great idea that I sealed and painted the exterior of the coop. So far, no issues.
We have this coop and i think it’s one of the best prefab coops you can buy. We put hardware cloth all around. Added a omlet auto door. 2 perches inside the run and a shelf over the nesting boxes. Note…get it as level as you can. If your not level the install of the roof is challenging. We live on a Mountain….flat land comes at a premium here. Nice vid. 🙏
Sounds like you guys did all the things we ended up doing.
Did you electrify the fence?
I haven't as of yet. I haven't found a need to.
See my page for my set up of this coop
We are about to build a second coop. This one is not the best for texas sun and heat when there are no trees. Mine is super hillbillies out now trying to provide extra shelter for my chickens.
@@Shauna_BeeGee yes mine has no shade cover and the sun does get it hot. I have a fan set up in the coop and inside the run.
Fans here too. During our 115 degree days, I thought we were all going to die.
I have the same coop and although I've had a few raccoons trying to get in, no predators haven't made it through yet. Going on 2 years now.
Man I remember when Tennessee looked that way. Only a few years ago. Great video. Hopefully you get plenty of rain.
We got some....not as much as Dallas and Ft Worth. Hoping for more this week.
A tip for those planning to buy one of these: If you plan to add hardware cloth around the outside to keep raccoon hands from reaching through the cage portion, install it BEFORE you assemble the sections together. You'll thank me later!
I did it after....but can see how doing it before would make it quicker.
@@Shauna_BeeGee i did it afterwards too. Thats how I learned it would have been better to add it before...☺😆
@@Shauna_BeeGee yours looks much neater than mine, too. My poor old back was giving out and I had to do a little bit every day till it was done. I probably got in too big of a hurry on parts of it.
I did a little bit everyday. But there are parts that are a mess. Am probably going to build a hoop coop this fall and turn this one into a grow out coop. Chicken math has happened and we are just about to outgrow this one.
Thanks for the video! We have 6 week olds that are going to be spending the night in this same coop within the next couple nights. So far they are just in it during the day because the predator proofing just keeps unfolding. We have a ton of predators (both sky and ground) on our property daily. What are your thoughts on the locks for the egg door? Have you replaced them? Was concerned about coons opening both latches somehow… any thoughts? Thanks!
2 things.....1: be sure to put hardware cloth between the run and coop, just under the chicken door . 2: I got used to the locks and have not replaced them.....once the building settled in place, they got stiff enough an animal could not open it.....in my opinion.
@@Shauna_BeeGee thanks for your reply! The locks do seem pretty stiff and they are so far apart, it seems like it would be a lot for a raccoon to figure out at once. First night in the coop will be tonight. 🙏
WOW! Can you send some of that rain to Austin?
Would love to. 2 of my 3 kiddos are in Austin.
My coop design is very similar except I have cement blocks with herbs in them surrounding the coop. Very nice. Great job!
I have been meaning to do that. It just git so hot so fast.
Do the roosters get along pretty good?
Well, with 3 if them, there were definitely displays of dominance, but nithing violent. We cut down to 2 roosters and we it seems to have calmed things down. The Ayem Cemani was beginning to be a bit of a bully.
I am also in Texas and I have 7 hens. I agree, the heat is so bad this year. I have a fan in their coop which has been on 24/7 since the triple digit temps. I took a tub that is used for mixing concrete and filled it halfway with sand. I keep it moist. The chickens love to lay in it to keep cool. I also water down their outdoor run each day. I have been putting electrolytes in their water (fresh each day) and it seems to help. Plus I give them a treat of watermelon about 3:00 pm. I can't free range them but their outdoor run is 2/3 covered with a roof and the open area is shaded most of the day. I put big pot of plain water in their run and they love to stand in it. They are laying 5-7 eggs a day so they are doing well. I wish you and your flock all the best.
I have a fan in their coop and covered run and another fan outside of their run.
I've been doing the same. I put shade cloth on runs and it keeps them shady and breezy.
@@carolinewolbrecht3880 mine looks so ramshackle. Lol. I have shade cloths, tarps, pallets, scrap doors, you name it, it's out there.
I'm wondering the same thing about mine. They are about 6 months old. When you put your hand on their back they squat down but combs are very small.
I'm in Texas....in this heat wave and drought....still no eggs.
Great video, I'm a new chicken mom
Welcome to the chicken world. We watch them every morning and laugh. It's a great way to start the day. I am new as well....but have a great mentor. Let me know if I can help or answer any questions.
@@Shauna_BeeGee right now, my biggest worry is how to get them to not hurt my Huney when we put her with them.
What is Huney?

@@DuuuuvaaaalllCityGirlGardener Are you just adding 1 new one?
Your a good chicken momma! 🐓 They are fortunate to have you.
Thank you.
I appreciate the videos you make and the advice you give.
Thank you.
You did a good job. I am contemplating this same coop and I am seeing more space to roam is needed if we want to have 10 hens.
More room is definitely needed. We now have the Rent a Coop poultry net. We do not have it electrified and it works great. They now have about 1500 square feet to play.
I don't understand why you locked yourself in the chicken coop, is the lock outside ?
Yes, it is on the outside and the door/gate swings freely. I have since cut a hole in the hardware cloth to stick my fingers through and unlock it.
@@Shauna_BeeGee I see, the lock can work itself when you close the door. it is a bug for you to enter in.
Awe thank you for such a sweet video. I always enjoy our adventures together ❤️
Me too. You ready to learn to milk goats?
1/4 mesh hardware cloth can prevent all kinds of predators from chickens
It is completely covered and skirted with hardware cloth. But I do appreciate input. I have calmed down a bit from the beginning. Only worried about snacks now.
You don't need worry about snacks with so small mesh hardware cloth skirted.
Awesome video sweetheart
Thank you sweetheart
I’ve heard that you should have one rooster per 10 hens. The Barred Rock roosters are supposedly the nicest roosters. I just picked up a barred rock rooster yesterday. He seems to be fitting in pretty well. We had a couple of squabbles yesterday but everything seems a little better today. I heard it’s easier to introduce a rooster to an existing flock than it is to introduce hens. Good luck and have a blessed 4th of July. 🇺🇸🙏🏻✌️
Yeah. I think I just found a home for the Ayam Cemani. Then I'm going to see from there. They have a LOT of room...so I don't think the roosters will fight....it will be a matter if they overbreed my hens.
Things are better today....and I saw your video. Haven't been able to comment because I was uploading and now working. Going back to watch now.
Happy 4th.
