I constructed the hardware and get the "Rfid Reader" & "By ogglas" on lcd but when i detected the card on reader some unknown letters appeared under "Scan Your Tags" line like "£é~s..." I couldn't solve it. If u can help me i'll be really appreciated

Correct. I have tried with the boblight plugin and I got connection. However the "smoothness" was gone while using it. Look at the Facebook page for Github references and how to modify the code.

So you run a custom version of xmbc on the pc you use to play the movie files which calculates average RGB values for certain areas around the screen, and send the data to the RPI which then drive the LEDs? Is it possible to use a XBMC plugin for this so you can always use the latest XBMC version, and are there parameters that can be changed (like what area to calculate average values for etc?)

I am very excited about this ambilight project and would like to implement it in my own pi an samsung lcd tv. But don't know where to start actually.

They are automatically shut down when I start the movie and powered on again when the movie ends. Read more about Telldus API in the comment section.

Not what I have seen but they will be better I think. Search for "Philips Ambilight" if you want to see effect.

One question: do the light and the PC monitors automatically shut down when you start the movie or is that some separate action you are taking (sorry if you say it in the vid, have no headphones at hand here at work).

Can you post the patch or change set for XBMC? Not everyone uses windows for their media center...
