Expanding Our Pasture
In this video we expand our pastures by fencing an additional two acres for the horses. We had help placing most of the posts, and a wonderful neighbor stopped by to assist with building corners, adding insulators and hanging fence wire.

Pig Planted Pumpkins and Goat Weed Eaters
Переглядів 1192 роки тому
The pumpkins that our last set of pigs inadvertently planted for us are growing so well. It is amazing how nature does what we try to do so much better than us. Our goats got to spend the afternoon browsing the pastures and cleaning up poison ivy for us. That stuff is everywhere this time of year.

    What kind of roofing panel is that?

    So it's possible that the goat can shift her backend (one leg) off the platform and get hung-up by the neck and the one foot-tie? ..never has happened in all of creation... that is why it might be a good idea to place a simple railing opposite the milker's seat.

    I’m with you. I’ll have a design in my head and then just start building making changes as needed based on what I have on hand. Of course I try to have everything I think I’m going to need but sometimes you have to adapt. Enjoyed watching your build.

    Hi there! 8:17 - I usually try to remove the grass and weeds around my plants as much as possible. I think they "suffocate" the plants on a soil level and sometimes they cease the sunlight if they grow too big. Nice chicks by the way. I like them ❤

    Hi sweetie loved your video. But I was wondering I can pretty much guess that you just made an and slight incision so the crop would open and the stuff would come out. But did you just leave it or did you have to sew up where you cut it open it? I am just wondering so if I ever have to do so myself, I know what to do. Thank you and have a blessed day.❤

  • @lisaterry9217
    @lisaterry9217 Рік тому

    Your chick is to young to be on scratch grains.😢 And your video is considered click bait because you showed no evidence of surgery performed.

    • @thatdamhorserescue
      @thatdamhorserescue Рік тому

      You'll be ok. If the chick is mostly feathered, she can be on scratch grains. It was probably the long grass and worms that made her compacted, more than grains. Not all chicks know right away to eat rocks and grit, especially if they don't have an adult hen to teach them such. Did you know you're supposed to give them calcium as young as possible, or are you going by the book on only giving them calcium when they're producing eggs? Putting apple cider vinegar in their water once or twice a month helps with most issues, as well as a natural dewormer.

    So, I’m not sure if you will ever see this, but… How do you keep your goats out of your chicken feed? We constantly have layer pellets out for our chickens, and we would really love to raise our goats in the same large paddock with our chickens. However, we are concerned with the goats, eating the layer pellets, since any time they are out together, they sprint towards where the pellets are kept.

    Your goats look a little bloated you need to be careful with that grain they'll get acidiosis they will waste less dry feed if you give them less grain you have to skip a couple of days sometimes a week when they look like they're getting skinny you put them back on the grain like this you won't have birth complications

    I like this idea I think am going to build one with 4x6 skids and 4x4 for frame and corners am going make mine 4’ tall from the floor and then 3’8” on the short side just to maximize material my area would be 3’8”x7’8” to maximize material
