Not sure I understand the whole MegaPixels race if the technology does not progress on the noise control side of photographing. You're way better off getting a 24-30MP camera with low-noise resolution, Camera manufacturers seem to focus on dazzling potential buyers with big figures but can the current low-noise technology cope with 100MP? Sony is not saying much on that front but the two come together. You might as well shove a 1,000 Horse Power engine on a Fiat Panda transmission.

150 MPX - if it came with the REAL medium format sized sensor (such as the Phase One IQ4-150) it would be truly fantastic and Hasselblads return to the top level. But it wil not, unfortunately. 150 MPX for the "small" medium format sensor is too much. Pixels are too small, the sensor is too "crowded" and noise will become a problem as well as tonal depth (pictures will be sharp but rather flat).

100MP on a medium frame make sense but on a FX, the pixel density would be insanely high and I dont see how huge compromises would be avoided with the current technologies... I have a hard time to see it doing equally well than the current 61MP... Id much prefer a 60-70MP sensor with improved rolling shutter and low-light performances.

Better gear won't make you a better photographer. We're already well past the point of diminishing returns and into the overkill zone. In any case, if you're relying on tech to improve your images, then no camera or lens will make a difference. Better to look for a rig that gives you more flexibility/portability. I'd recommend Micro Four Thirds format, as you'll be able to carry a wide range of small/light lenses to places you'd never want to haul larger-format gear (my go-to is the Lumix G9M2). If you really want to go light and fast, a 1" bridge camera (e.g., Lumix FZ1000 or Sony RX-10) will give you more IQ than you need to produce gallery-worthy prints under most conditions.

If this is true, these are INCREDIBLE SPECS! However, I do wonder how successful this camera will be. It seemed like the megapixel race slowed down a bit when social media made video capabilities king. From GoPro's to the Sony FX3, the overall desire for camera tech appeared to be rooted in videography/cinematography. Recording codecs and low light capabilities tend to get consumers way more excited these days. I know traditional photography is a staple of creativity that will never go away. But I'd be very be surprised if the masses went out and bought 100 megapixel cameras to produce UA-cam and Instagram Reels. Nonetheless, I do love all this advancement in camera technology.
