Well I screwed up my floor, so I'm now going to do it properly. I think your idea is the best. I'll cut it such that the floor fits perfectly and glue and screw the wood to the floor as well as around the sides where it touches. I should have done the vinyl and not poly carpet as the poly carpet traps and holds everything! Including your grandmothers teeth!

What a fantastic adventure! The Swiss side of the Mont Blanc massif is just breathtaking, and staying in such a remote cabin adds a whole new layer of excitement. That hike up to Bivouac du Dolent sounds challenging but so rewarding, especially with views over France, Switzerland, and Italy. The cabin itself looks cozy, perfect for winding down after a tough climb. Can't wait to see more from your travels! 🏔🚶‍♂🇨🇭
