What table saw is that? Is there anyway I can get it in the US? It is a shame we don't have sliding table saws more available here unless you have $15-20,000 for a panel saw or industial sliding table saw.

I just spent two months renovating my wooden staircase, mainly due to the previous builder not protecting the wood correctly. The end-grains and joints were not coated and therefore exposed to elements and moisture would seep into the stairs. I would recommend for a better product to disassemble the bench or seat-boards first, in order to apply the linseed oil into the end-grain. This will extend the lifespan of the piece greatly. nice bench, by the way.

Great Effort , But those fails are pretty easy to explain. Wood grain direction and thickness. Plus first try was a glue up. Final piece looks like it came out a nice solid piece without any funky grain going on. Considering your doing all major power tools on delicate pieces that would be an issue. Nice end results though, Perfection is a direction not Destination and Mastery is how you recover from shit happening. The 2 things I learned from making.

Thats a good one right there, but look up the traditional woodworking arts of the " Erzgebirge " in eastern Germany. It's actually a mountainous region and it's arts are influenced by it's mining history. These guys are christmas craftsmanship maniacs.
