I love cake, and the kind of stuttering effect is used to great effect in songs like Frank Sinatra, but it's a little bit too much here. Normally it adds a bit of interest to the lyrics but sometimes it just breaks the flow of the song

The original, when it first came out in late 78, was, in spite of its great lyrics, hampered by the lousy disco background track (which, sadly, was fashionable at the time.) This interpretation (which is definitely not a "cover" - sorry, Sr Lopez) demonstrated the song's true potential. I'm eternally grateful to Cake for rescuing it.

This song is all bass. We need more bass heavy bands like Cake. Now more than ever!!
