In this video I show how I built a mini bulldozer using a Craftsman garden tractor. It is a long video, but I think it is worth watching it all since I talk about pitfalls I had and my reasoning for doing things they way I did. I have comments turned off since I've had people making stupid comments on other videos. Recent video of this thing pushing snow: ua-cam.com/video/AP-jkxrDeOQ/v-deo.html

The entire build in one video!! You’re doing God’s work brotha lol! Awesome project and mad skills my friend. You cleared up a few concerns I had and I’m going to start a similar build with an old Wheel Horse. Thanks for content.
Thanks, my pleasure. If you read some of the comments below some people offered ideas that may be useful to you. When I first posted this UA-cam content was MUCH different. 54 minutes for a "How to build a bulldozer" video didn't seem excessive.
Thanks for the video. Do you remember how much lubricating oil it takes in the injector pump.
Oh, I'd have to check the manual, but it isn't much, like 1.5 pints.
So, my manual says 1/2 a pint of SAE 30 motor oil for the injection pump. What you do is open the overflow valve and then fill with oil from the top till it just starts to drip out. Make sure the overflow valve isn't clogged up with dirt.
@@runforyourlife9684 Thanks. I have a UD 14A in a Adams Grader with this pump on it. I don't have a manual yet.
@@bob-the-Millwright If you want to get a manual just for the pump, I got mine from Jensales. The manual designation is IH-S-DSL-PUMP. It covers the IH pumps and the Bosch pumps maintenance and overhaul.
@@runforyourlife9684 thank you I will.

Hello again, It’s me working on my dad’s Farmall MD. Do you happen to remember what the thread size is for the puller to remove the drive gear on the aft end of the camshaft? I thought maybe it was 1-1/8 fine thread but that’s not it. So then I tried a metric 28 mm 1.5 thread. That’s not it either. McMaster-Car doesn’t stock a 28 mm 1.4 thread nut which is what my thread gage says it should be. Would you be interested in renting me your puller? How much do you want for your spare fuel pump? Thanks for your help!
I measured the threads on my tool and they are about 1-1/8" x 18 TPI. I cut the threads myself on my lathe. I can let you borrow the tool, no problem. Send me an e-mail at mmgioia1@gmail.com.
Thank you for the video on the Bosch fuel pump! May I ask where you found a manual for it? I bought the American Bosch injector manual from Jensales and it doesn’t cover the disassembly and testing. I am restoring my dad’s Farmall MD and it has the Bosch injection system, like your TD. The #3 cylinder is not getting fuel. The plunger is stuck in the body. It looks like I have to remove the camshaft in order to remove the plunger. Thank you!
I am so glad you found it useful. Makes it worth my while. I got my manual from Jensales. I purchased the "International Harvester Service Manual for Diesel Injection Pumps". I think the stock number is IH-S-DSL-PUMP. They refer to it as a Bosch "K" Type pump. Disassembly, inspection, and testing start on page 130. Yes, you will have to remove the cam, followers and then you will have enough clearance to remove the plungers. Let me know if you need any advice. I have a spare pump I got on Ebay, thinking I might need it, and rebuilt it as a spare, if you end up needing it.
Thank you for the quick reply. I will check the part number of the book I have. Did you have trouble taking the bottom plugs out? I made a tool like you did and tried to remove the bottom plugs and they wouldn’t budge even with a half inch impact wrench. I suspect they used locktite on them.
Oh yeah, those things were a PITA! I can't remember how I got them out eventually. I think maybe an old fashioned hammer-type impact driver. They have them at Harbor Freight. Try some penetrating oil as well. I'm pretty sure I didn't use any heat since the case is cast iron and the felt wipers on the inside would have caught fire. @@seapilot2
I now have the correct manual from Jensales (PDF version)! Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. It’s nice to know that you have another pump available. Hopefully the one I have just needs a good cleaning. The governor part of it looks like brand new inside. Better than I would have expected on a 76 year old tractor. Thanks again! Great video
Happy to be of assistance. Good luck.@@seapilot2
It would’ve been so much easier just getting an old mountain bike with disk brakes on it.. take the disks, attach them to the drive sprocket , rig up the calipers to the frame of the machine, and then run the cables and levers up to the seat.. the clamping force on a mountain bike disk brake set up is more than enough to stop the track and turn the machine
Bro make me one
Bro, that would be a felony.😬
Hey that really works excellent. Can you turn new disks with no holes 1/4" smaller? On the plow lift. Can you weld stops every inch like a auto lift in a garage, to take the up force when plowing, instead of the spring or actuator taking the load. Great job on it all.
Yeah, I guess I could turn new disks if I needed to. The ones I have on there haven't given me any problems. I really do need to build a better, stronger, lift mechanism. I've gotten a lot of good ideas from folks on here. I just have to find time away from all my other projects.😂 I mostly just use it now for plowing snow on my driveway so I don't hit a lot of bumps that would stress out the lift mechanism.
What do you use when building your suppressor to be able to thread the suppressor on to the barrel. Is it just a normal 5/8 nut welded to the inside to make it screw on. Doing Form 1 build eventually and I’m curious
No, had to make my own adapter. Most .30 cal hunting rifle profiles don't have enough thickness at the muzzle for a 5/8" thread. This barrel had been threaded for a compensator with 9/16-28 threads. I was able to get a tap for that size at McMaster-Carr or Amazon; I can't remember which. You don't have to use a standard AR barrel thread pitch if you don't want to. And if you have a lathe and taps you can make whatever adapter you want to put your can on any rifle you have.
Was it 3 hours AFTER the original 2 hours or 3 hours total? Looks nice BTW.
It's been so long I can't remember. I think it was three hours total. If you leave it in longer you won't hurt the steel since the stripping agent doesn't react with the steel. That is one of the reasons I used it rather than other methods, I couldn't harm the steel if I left it in longer.
Thats cool brother, God bless you 🙏
How about a water bottle filled with shaving cream 😊
That might get messy.
@@runforyourlife9684 yeah but would it quiet things down? Haha
Maaaayyyyybe? I'll let you try first. Let us know how it goes. 🤣
@@runforyourlife9684 I'm going to rethink things lol
Maybe spend more time showing how it's made, your brake line routing doesn't mean shit,
Can you make one for my 3006
You're kidding, right? No, can't do that. I would need a FFL07 manufacturers license to make and sell suppressors. You can make your own if you file the paperwork.
Are you happy with your td9??I have been offered a td9 for five hundred it's shedded but sprockets are bad on tracks
It's fun and simple to work on and that's the catch. If you own one of these you are going to do pretty much everything yourself. It isn't expensive to maintain, but it shouldn't be considered a serious earth moving machine. Don't get me wrong, it is WAY better than not having anything, so for $500 I bet you can't do better. You can still get many of the parts from General Gear, or FP Smith, or other salvage yards if you look around. And if you decide not to mess with it I'm sure you could part it our and make more than your investment. Where are you located?

Holy heck Holy heck Hhhoollyyy hheeccckkk Can I convert my annealeze machine I don't use anymore to do this ???? So cool
😁Thanks
As for the annealing machine, I'm sure you could. That was actually the inspiration for me to use the rotating drum. I just put four slots in it instead of the one. Here is what you need to do: Figure out what type of saw you are going to use and how you'll drive it. Then you need to be able to adjust the length of cut. Most importantly you'll need to hold the shells in the drum securely while they are being cut. I used a piece of aluminum like a shell plate so the shells wouldn't fly out and I used a little strip of felt in the drum so the shell wouldn't spin.
Does it change barrell harmonics?
I'm sure, to some extent. How much, I have no idea. It probably has a negligible effect relative to other things that affect accuracy, like ammo or barrel bedding. And any impact on barrel harmonics probably won't be evident at the ranges I shoot with it. I use it for relatively short range (less than 200 yd) hunting. I now use it mostly on my 16" barreled 300 Blackout, so the weight probably has even less of an impact on harmonics there.
Very impressive, you did a good job:-)
Thanks for the good feedback.
Delete if illegal. I was wondering what happened to your bolt action series? It was very entertaining. I figured UA-cam had something to do with it.
Yeah, UA-cam didn't like it. Not only did they de-monitize it (which I don't care about) but they banned it and put me on probation. I was pretty unhappy about it. I put a lot of work into making those videos, probably doubled the time it took me to make the rifle.
hello ATF
If you listen you would learn that he applied for his tax stamp.
How did the parts come out after parkarizing? Looking to do this process to a 1903 Thank you
I haven't gotten to them yet! I know, it has been a long time. I have a pile of parts to do but some other project always seems to get in the way. Sorry. 😞
Using lead bullets in any rifle is a a bad mistake. Unless the rifle is inaccurate or ready for the trash can.
Need how awesomely loud a baffled/unbaffled comparison. But viewers can't tell much difference because no audio is able to convey just how loud gunfire is.
Exactly. I thought about doing a follow up video with a sound meter, but impulse noise (gun fire) is very difficult to measure without special equipment. A sound level app on your phone won't do it very well or at all.
where did you get the rubber tracks
Summit Supply. www.summitrubbertracks.com/ They have several locations. I got mine from the one in NJ. I also got the drive sprocket and a roller which I used to make copies. I called them up and told them what I wanted to do and they were very helpful in selecting the type of tracks and length that would work for me. Like I said they also stock the sprockets and roller so you can get everything you need there.
Geez..sounds like a .22 or less. Nice!
That's a good suppressor 👍
Thanks
Wow that was quiet 🤫 lol fr tho
Drill it and shoot everything through it. Get it wet first.
I love ur shooting shack. With the garage door u can open to see down range. "NM the rain, I got a spot"!🤗
Thanks, that was exactly the idea. My bench and targets stay clean and dry all year and are ready to go when I need to shoot.
Why suppress High Power rifles.... never seen one yet that is effective... still loud as hell.... reduced yes but stil loud..
As I stated in the video. It is a lot more quiet with the suppressor. No need for hearing protection. And I could also load subsonic rounds and it is as quiet as an air rifle. Gives me more options.
In GA it's thirty aught six
30 o6 ????

@@runforyourlife9684 hahaha…! Well, just as well, it is a good informational video.
Man that’s a lot better than I thought it was gonna be
Thanks. I don't use it on that rifle anymore. Now I just use it on my 300 Blk with subsonic ammo. Way overkill. Sounds like an air rifle.
5:56 starts shooting.
If you don't have with and without video then what is the point of making this video?
To show people you can make a suppressor for a 30-06 and it will work. When I made it I couldn't find any other videos that showed it could be done. That was a long time ago.
It's 30 aught 6 everywhere except where he lives!!
ATF has entered the chat...
Shooting from a doorway or window opening makes me cringe. Hard.
.......Springfield Remington rifle?
Pretty close, Remington 721.
sounds very Rube Goldbergish, but if it works for you, good on ya.
Not really. Rube Goldberg means it has lots of unnecessary steps. This is pretty much the opposite.
Really cool
Thanks.
This is really smart. I'm looking into reloading 300 blackout and I'm not sure what is the best way to do it. I'm definitely not smart or handy enough to put something like this together but this would sure help. I'm confused by things like the trimming, then chamfering/debur and annealing like I don't get the whole process but I'm just learning, it's a first for me. Anyway, this was really cool.
You don't need to build a machine like this if you only need a few hundred cases. There are simpler ways to trim down a small number of cases. I needed this because I had a 55 gallon drum of brass. There are plenty of other UA-cam videos that will walk you through the process step by step. It isn't hard. Good luck, have fun.
@@runforyourlife9684 Ah, gotcha! Yeah it wouldn’t be more than a few hundred cases at most. That’s good to know it’s not too difficult. Appreciate it :)
