A UK Kawasaki ZXR750R K1 Homologation Special from 1991/2. The bike needed some TLC, mainly minor cosmetic work, no crash damage just a few marks, stone chips and paint rubbing off the frame. My two Yamaha FZR750R OW01's one is completely standard only 5000 Km on the clock, the other is a Carl Fogarty Loctite replica with a 1000cc FZR engine, Carl very kindly signed it for me last year.

Just decided to upload a clip of my OW01 Yamaha FZR750R OW01 Carl Fogarty Loctite replica form the 1992 Isle of Man TT. That year 'Foggy' set a new absolute lap record of more than 123.61 mph. The record stood until 1999.
Back when bikes looked gorgeous - Unlike todays over-teched, ugly, soul-less 'afterthoughts'.
Unbelievably gorgeous. IMO, the prettiest super bike ever made. Twin Koito’s to die for. Can’t wait for mine soon!

My second bike was a 92 ZX-7R. In 96 I blew the motor for the 3rd time. I was next to team Kawasaki at Phillip Island in the pits. I knew some of the boys on the team, raced next to them, got thrashed by them. So i asked for a motor. A Large Chunk of money later that day I installed the ZX-7RR N1 Factory Team motor and CDI. Blew it 6 months later Hahahahahaha Phuck!!! Rebuilt it. Had the bike till 2008. Then I left Australia, the guy I sold it to destroyed it 3 weeks later. I cried. Literally cried. Put so much time and money into it. 390lb wet. Ti everything, carbon wheels, most minute wiring harness i could get away with. Custom built carbon sub frame and Fairings. Carbon petrol tank. I made a Ti shorty exhaust for it to save weight. Butt killing foam seat. Brembo suspension. No lights when it was dum time. Lights weighed 2kg, easily removable. All electronics moved forward. I could have bought a house for what i put into it. 42mm Klein carbs, tuned to an inch of it's 50 hour life, then a rebuild. At 100 hours it blew up Again.... Phuck! Custom made motor internals, didn't like to start up with such lumpy cams. 14 to 1 compression,, forget the exact number but had to run very high octane gaa. On the right fuel with Velocity Stacks it made 180 at the rear tyre at Sea Level on a 25⁰ C day. Horrible fueling below ~7k. At 9k it was moving. At 10k it accelerated like a two stroke! Scared the whimpering shit out of me every day. LOVED IT! Best bike I've ever owned!!! So much thrust at 10k Thats how my "Mate" destroyed it. In race prep ); Miss that bike so badly sometimes. But a RC-51 and a new Tuono Fact do sort of make up for it. But how that ZX-7R would destroy tyres! It flogged liter bikes! 300kph on the straight at Phillip Island. Then boom. Back to the shop for a rebuild! I spent so much money on it, never regretted a second though! Hahahaha. Very nice bike you had there, you sold it? Shame. But bikes come and go. Ps. I'm very impressed by your attention to cleanliness when building the bike! Keep on rolling mate. Cheers from Adrian (we do both have a great name)

How on earth did you manage to find NOS parts for that bike ?
To my surprise Kawasaki still make and sell lots of the parts even the rear seat pad/bump that was only for this model. The bike actually came will all the original parts on the bike, I had them professionally finished (painted/blasted but no power-coat). Small details such as faring bolts and fasteners are all new from Kawasaki (no point in messing about with reconditioning when Kawasaki still sell them new), the small details make all the difference.

You are correct, the J is a 1991 - 1992. In the UK the H1 and H2 was the older shape 1989 - 1990, this is the ZXR750R K1 (1992) which is the homologation (race bike) of the J1 and J2 models. In the US it’s called the ZXR750RR K1 or ZX7RR K1

love the bike , loved the timelapse , thanks for sharing , one question though, the rev counter didn´t seem to be working at the time of the video .
Yes on the last clip, I see what you mean. I don’t adjust the sound post production, the bike was running. I remember that I needed to adjust the idol speed as it kept on stalling, it was so low it wasn’t registering on the rev counter just before it stalled. Hope this helps and thank you for watching.
