You know that's a really nice looking crossbow but you can buy the Ravin r10 crossbow it costs a lot less and it shoots just as fast how come nobody wants to do any reviews on the Ravin r10 crossbow anymore that's the number one seller it always has been

So on the 20 yard mark with tape do I use the line right next to 30 or middle line or the farthest line away from 30?

Right now my choices are down to the tenpoint 450 stealth or ravin r29... im left handed to so I'd like to try and find a place that has these bows so I can handle them. A little harder here in canada lol

Do not buy from Ravin. The customer service always horrific. I had the worst experience with a bought product that came broken. Had to send it back and missed all of archery!

Which brand is your frontal shooting pillow?

Ravin, a few things...ur guy says to first shoot at 20 and then move point of impact to point of aim. And then he says move back to 20 yards and do the same. Did he mean to repeat the something or say something else? Or is starting point at 20? Secondly - "you said after sighting at 20 yards, move back to 50, move windage and then move down to 30 and adjust the speed dial according to how the arrow hits." Ive watched other videos where they said after shooting 50 yards, to go back to 20 and then adjust speed dial. Can you please confirm if we are to move back to 20 or back to 30 yards?

I used to shoot nothing but recurves when hunting and said I would never hunt with a compound, then I got paralyzed in my right arm and shoulder in a work accident and that changed. I started shooting a compound with a mouth-tab and was practicing daily to qualify for the US paralympic team and my hunting bow was a 70# compound. Fast forward a couple years and my teeth got too weak to pull a bow anymore. I thought my archery hunting days were over. My goal is to get the R-18 this year. I live in Wyoming and would love to tag out on an Elk. Archers can bad-mouth crossbows all they want but if this gives me the opportunity to hunt again their opinions mean nothing to me. Why is the cocking handle so cheap on the Ravin R500? I bought a Ravin R500 and my Dad bought a Tenpoint crossbow and I think Tenpoint has a higher quality handle and better design. Not a fan of the R500 bracket that holds the cocking handle. Too hard to install/remove. This is where Tenpoint shines... Use the ratchet design like tenpoint... and for the mounting bracket, use the same ratchet type idea to secure the cocking handle when not being used to the bow. Since the cocking/decocking handle is so integral to the function of the crossbow, it should store ON the bow. The quick attach/detach design is similar to what I have on my AR platforms with picatinny rails where you can quickly attach or detach a rifle sling using a ratchet style "push button". Otherwise, super happy with the Ravin R500.

One thing. The bolts are only 16” which makes it illegal to hunt with in a lot of states.

I'm not a huge crossbow guy but I do own one and a compound bow. I usually stick to firearms. This design is intriguing to say the least. A Bullpup, vertical crossbow that you can still run off of a rest. I really love the concept of the reflex sight, something I've added to more than half of my firearms, but that is also designed with a BDC, Bolt Drop Compensating dots. I have to say that I'm pretty impressed. The only down side I see of this is that the nock on the bolt is proprietary. This would seem to force you to buy their bolts.

So-never lubricate the string and cables, only the center serving and only for cold weather. Got it!

What do you do if the frame keeps coming loose? There are 2 allen screws in stock that i have had to tighten.

Yeah, this definitely does not work. Now I have an arrow that won't turn off and it's going to basically become a regular arrow in about 40 hours... There's $40. I'll never see you again.

Simple as crossbow making?

My Ravin suddenly not zeroing. I sighted in at 20. Was significantly hitting left. Got that on zero. Shot 50. Hits 4 low,2.5 left. First time its ever done that. So I figure its several years old now so maybe limbs weakening. I chrono it. Only shooting 363. Was set at 425. I adjust scope to speed. Still shoots low.and left at 50. Quessing left limbs weak? Do I need to replace limbs maybe? Always zeroed perfectly after getting on at 20 in years past. ??? Its 6 years old this year.

Seems like if the tape starts at 30 yds, you should do initial zero'ing right at 30.

Question I’ve shot 2 deer with it and there’s ZERO blood on my arrows not even a slimy texture it looks brand new but there’s blood everywhere when tracking

I’m a dealer and i thought there has got to be a way to quieten it some, those threaded rods for cocking and decocking are making like a tuning fork sound at the shot, I put a recurve monster jax dampner on each limb and they absorbed enough vibration to remove that pinging sound plus it will make the limbs perform with less stress

This dont work!!! Get the pliers with the rubber boot and pull slightly, hopefully the nock bushing doesn't come out! If it does, youll have to re glue that back in!
