For the banjo bolt, if you have a 1/2 flex head ratchet with a 3 inch extension drive and a 32mm socket, it will undo the banjo fairly easily. Fish the ratchet under the pedestal

Hi Marty, love your channel, very informative. I watched the other 7.3 glow plug relay posted video, and you “verbally” noted, that the test could be done on an OBS 7.3 Can these harness tests be performed on my 1995 7.3powerstroke (first year of the “Powerstroke”)…?
no offense but i’m lost lol. a few questions. is the truck in the video properly filled? is the fluid while running supposed to be little to none? and why is does my fluid reach the top of the c line after i turn my truck off and check the level. i got the e40d and i have just about the same readings as the truck in the video. thanks 😅
What about if the tank reads at half? I seem to had this issue it starts at half tank and can fill up for there to well past the “F” mark, it won’t start at half tank till you put diesel in it

So this confuses me and may be my issue. My dipstick is the full metal one on my f 250. When cold it shows middle of the HOT hash marks. When truck is hot I don't think I can see any fluid on the stick. I thought when it got warm it expands but it is like the other way around....? I don't know if I'm too full or too low.

1- You need to keep the card in there, as the card was not there when it said "validating card" 2- people can track your car with license plates, try not to tell people your license plate on video.

You're right. This video is relative and will be posted to my website where people have $28 dollar gauges that break for the exact reason I broke this one in the video. Then they say the gauge is CHEAP or CRAP. Nevermind the fact the gauge failed as one would expect when you run it past its limit.

Thank you for the video. I recently purchased a 2004 Excursion with the 6.0. I was going through it and checking everything that I could and when I pulled the dipstick it was completely covered when cold and I got terrified that my transmission was shot so they overfilled it to scam me. It runs and shifts fine so I didn’t have any suspicions that there was a problem. The fluid it pretty much brand new too. Either the previous owner or the dealer I bought it from changed all the fluids and even put new tires on it. Thanks for telling me that it’s a pretty normal thing to get false readings off the dipstick. I’m going to keep an eye on it and try a few of the things you mentioned and demonstrated in the video.
I just did a bunch of work- fuel pump and turbo on a 7.3 Yes those turbo bolts are cruel and unusual punishment. My god especially if they have EBT still..
“Lines up real good” Those pre turbo leaks are HELLA LARGE!! And leaking there can catch the floor insulation on fire. Going up a hill that engine exhaust gas may be 1600F Or more if it’s no intercooler.
Use RTV on the seams.
Use high temp RTV on all exhaust sealing surfaces! It works. You can use rtv as a whole exhaust manifold and it’ll seal. I put rtv on every exhaust seam I touch. Nothing crazy. Just a touch. No way I’d risk a leak on exhaust on a ford turbo diesel!!!!!!

I ordered the EVDIAG software. Came up with a VMM too hot code. Traced the water circuit and found a mud wasp nest - about 3 inches up from the outlet/90° turn. I cleaned that out - restored water flow and all is well again. The VMM (brain) was seeing over 200° even though there was nothing wrong with anything else and the engine was going into "S.A.F.E." mode.

I have this same condition. 😢 Both tanks the gauge just stay like that. Also extremely difficult to get diesell into the truck. Backs up in the filler necks really bad.
Did u figure out the problem
open gas cap, check cdi hot and cold with volt meter and coil. simple trick, pull plug cap but keep it on so its almost touching. will make the spark hotter. might just help to find a issue.
Time for the BFH
Check your carb float needle. If it’s dirty it may impede the fuel shutoff when your fuel bowl is full. Letting fuel in when it’s full will lead to flooding the carb, hence the wait to restart and run again. I could be wrong.
