Can a Goat Jump Over a Gate or Fence?
Переглядів 1153 роки тому
She actually did make it over twice before I shot this video which is why I wanted to try to capture it the third time...lol, she must have been a little tired at this point (she didn't quite get her back hoofs up there). Still...pretty amazing...we had a nub goat twice her size who got spooked when we fired up a chainsaw one time, and she jumped clear over the divider. Lol, we also had one of ...

Suggestions for using this with multiple size goats? We keep Nigerians and nubians together
I always have issues when they pull their heads OUT of the feeder and drop 1/2 a mouthful. THANK YOU for the explanation!! I have a setup kinda similar, but the suggestions you made make sense with their behavior. Goats are so bougie
2 problems I see. 1 - too heavy on the grinding cuts as in one long cut instead of numerous tapping cuts. 1 longer cut will overheat the tooth. 2 - you showed the file for the rakers being both pushed then pulled. Files are made to be pushed only.
My thing is my goats have horns. I’m afraid they will get their horns stuck in the fence
Nicholas Cage is taking on some really odd projects lately.
I have sannen goats. What size opening do you have in the cattle panel? Great Videos!!!!
Nothing new to me since I've grown up in a farm
i watched pt1 and this pt2 of the ultimate feeder videos. they are amazingly useful, and got 4 comments only. what a pity. thank you very much for immense help you gave me, as i suffer from hay waste as much as any other goat keeper. have to think through how to adapt your design in my barn yet, but im loaded with science now and it's going to be somewhat easy.
INCREDIBLE!!! THANK YOU!!!
I have a pygmy goat pet. My first goat pet and I Love her. ❤
Thanks, great video.
I hear Hemp bedding is really good. It absorbs odors & last longer than straw. I haven't tried it yet, but Im going to as soon as I get my goats.
Noice
This was helpful. Especially the comparison to other hay feeders and talking about goat behavior. Thank you.
I have been looking for a better hay feeder for my Nigerian Dwarfs. This looks like it is very well thought out! It makes sense! Thank you for sharing it with us!
our boer cross goats love bananas , but will devour cabbage leaves!!! I found a free supplier of apple bins of them and they would eat a 35lb box at a time just for fun
You can knock the paddles of a t-post with a hammer
So what do you suggest for goats with horns? If the opening for their head is big enough so they don't get stuck they can get out of the pen I to the feeder.
My goats have smaller heads than body. Raising it (so they have to step up and dip their heads down) should also help prevent them from jumping in.
Maybe just go with vertical bars rather than cattle mesh panels for horned goats. Or at an angle as he mentioned. The horizontal cross bars are the main issue goats would get head stuck.
Great idea- now I need some goats too😊
My only regret with goats is I didn't get them sooner 🙂
Thank you for this video! I used the “science” to diy a little feeding system for my buckling. It’s temporary cause he’s young and growing- but your ideas really work to prevent wasted hay! Blessings!
Close your eyes and listen to his voice...It's Nicholas Cage! Thanks for the video. I got mine put in yesterday.
I would love to know more about how to build this!
Prescott....??? Say it aint so...! lol
lol, I don't get it??
Chickens will roost in feed boxes too. LOL
Great video and I have this same set up that I will be using in the next week or so
Hope all is well with you two. Maybe we'll see ya again soon.
My sister gave me one of these and they are amazing! They sounds like an airplane taking off. lol
Very well thought! I was always wondering why our goats crawl under our feeder... It's cuz of the seeds! Awesome! Thank you, I like your construction!
cool!!!
Unless your goats have horns......
Yes, this feeder is not designed for goats with horns. Thank you for pointing that out.
You can still use fence line feeders (like this and others) with horned goats, just have a horizontal bar, wire or lumber about 8" above (for Boer goats), also the sloped timbers Shane mentioned but 2 x 1's. I have both and they work fine.
Love this design, and can't wait to see how you adapt it for outside use, as I don't have a barn yet and could use something like this.
The Russian Cyrillic literally says Separator. С=S, П=P, Р=R
Which says separator just in Cyrillic letters
Greeting, Little Acres Homestead -Cloudy Daye Soaps-. this is absolutely riveting video. thanks. :)
Nice video
It is usually pretty easy to see which teeth you’ve already sharpened, they are clean and shiny...
You can use the same sleeve for two angle clips so that you dont need to put two on the same post
Thanks for the video saved me a bunch of time figuring it out
No disrespect, but that 2x4 shouldn’t have anything to do with the operations of the sharpener. The sharpener is bolted to the 4x4 which is a ridged mount.
You sound just like Nicholas Cage. I loved you in Lord of War.
We enjoyed watching your videos this afternoon. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and adventures!
Crafty fellows, lol! My fil once had a horse that could do the same. Funny watching them...not so much having to herd them all back to where they go, lol.
Yes, I agree! We had a mule when I was a kid that would open just about any gate or door.
Have really liked your videos today. Thank you for sharing your experiences. Keep on posting great content!
wow,I didn't know goats could do that! that's funny!
If you've grown up on a farm and had goats, you won't be so surprised.
I will need one of these at some point. Thanks for video.
That is very cool. We are doing raised beds next year and planting herbs. Good for you guys. We've subbed you. Ozark Mountain Goats
Thanks! <3 I'll be sure to check out your channel too! Love your logo!
