Thank you for the review! I note that the main display is identical to my Pure Elan S3 (a bigger radio), so I'm guessing this unit is part of the same family of radios. I have to say it's a very elegant & compact design, my only reservation is regarding battery replacement. The sound from my Pure is OK (but not exceptional for speach) and sounds noticeably better when fed from the auxiliary input, so the smaller speaker on this unit may actually be better!

I am considering buying this unit and happy with all the features presented, except that when I am outside, I prefer to put the unit in a backpack, and use headphone rather than the built-in speaker as output, my question is, will the headphone wire act as an antenna if plugged in to the radio, thanks

A moving and very special tribute. Thank you for posting. My Estey ancestors are buried in Hintlesham. My sister visited a number of years ago and tried to find their stone , but it is a very old section of the cemetery and thickly overgrown. I hope one day one of our family will be able to locate the family stone. Unlike many of our very large family in Canada, we are privileged to know where those ancestors lie.

Enjoyed +++. Visited this church several years ago, looking for graves of Estey ancestors. Unfortunately the oldest part of the cemetery was overgrown with nettles so contented myself with exploring the church and grounds. Look forward to COVID vaccine, travel restrictions removed and maybe a return visit - Audrey (Winnipeg, Canada)

We dont have DAB in Sweden. It was a flop here. I have a DAB receiver just in case. Do this radio have wifi so i could connect it and listen to english stations?

The version sold in US Amazon.com is 30 watts. It comes with an optical cable. It does not have AAA batteries for remote. It does not support volume control officially by other remotes such as Xfinity, Roku, and Amazon Fire remotes.

Can you connect bluetooth headphones to this.

Does anyone happen to know if the battery is replaceable? Also if at home are you best to keep the radio plugged in or does this damage the battery? Instructions do not cover this.

I found this story a few years ago and found it incredibly moving and am revisiting. I don't know if you're aware there has been a project to restore the cemetery and to create a digital archive of the people buried there, many of whom are from Dundee, because of the link to the jute mills. I live in Belgium and this radio, Majority Eddington, is not available in stores here. I had to order it via Amazon. I also have a Sony XDR-P1DBP, which is about the same size as the Eddington. The Sony XDR-P1DBP does not have a Bluetooth function. Which is nice nowadays and will certainly appeal to young people. Both devices have a reasonable autonomy, plus / minus 10 hours at average volume level with a full battery. But the Sony is more expensive than Majority Eddington. The Majority has a color display, while the Sony has a simple LCD display. Both devices have a surprisingly good sound reproduction, given the compact dimensions. DAB+ is quite good here in Flanders. There are no (music) stations with a bitrate lower than 80. There are a lot of stations that use a bitrate of 96 kbs, which is pretty decent in aac. Hopefully this standard will be maintained, which guarantees a very good sound reproduction. Needless to say, I hardly ever listen to FM again, also because the range of stations on DAB is much wider than in FM. The sound reproduction in DAB+ at current bitrates is better than in FM, more detailed reproduction, better channel separation (stereo) and interference-free. This is especially noticeable if you listen via headphones. Both the Sony and the Majority give a good stereo signal to the headphone output. In my cars I use the Lenco DAC-100 adapter to receive DAB+, with very good results. So I completely succumbed to DAB+ I am very satisfied with the Majority Eddington, although I may not use it every day, it is very handy to carry around.

Good meeting - good system - somewhat complicated for very old people

Just bought one of these on the strength of your excellent review. Having a problem currently however with anything requiring internet buffering pretty much all the time on most stations even our area which is Kent. Internet speed is broadband and fast with the router very close and I don't suffer with problems getting data normally. Is there perhaps a reason you can see why this might be. I may have to send it back because this was the main reason for purchase. I've also set the buffer to 8 seconds but it's no better

Keith, hi just got one today and amazed by it. Only have one problem and that is, can I have the clock on constant rather than switching between local weather. Any advice would be greatly appreciated but I am still exploring the wonderful set up of this machine. I will add that situated in a bit of a hollow and surrounded by trees we get best result from internet setting. Thank you.

Great video. I'll probably buy this for my mum but I am not sure if it's easy to use for her. She's almost 67 now and not very tech savvy.
