As another Autistic fighting game player, I'm happy I've come across your channel. May I ask for a guide on Cammy or Juri? I'm wanting to actively learn those two characters.
I couldn't play Cammy bc she's simple on oki to the point where your meaties are so easily meaty that they end up feeling to me like forbidden fruit. They're plus as hell but they're also like The Get Perfect Parried 3000.
So then you gotta like either trust you'll just throw enough or use more varied meaty options. Idk why but that just feels like too much work for me tho. Regardless, sick ass character
Character arcs are stupid. A person reacts to situations based on what they've learned in their first years of life. If anything, a character only becomes more of who they are. I think of a character as an ocean. If a character is mainly cowardly, then depending on external circumstances and internal values, they can only ebb and be more cowardly or flow and be less cowardly. They will always revert to their base nature. The ocean is the ocean, and it will never turn into lava. I'm glad I found this video you made. SUBSCRIBED!!! 😁

Don't worry man. Really. It doesn't matter wherever there are two parties (or two are major ones like in Poland where i'm from) and simmilar kind of media narration where the focus is on dividing people, it's only a make-belive-democracy. When you look closely at what higherups in whatever government are doing it's pretty simmilar, they only bring social issues like abortion because it cost them nothing to give and take away rights. All the rest is the same in important things - pro big corpo, pro military industrial complex, less rights for people more for 1 percent, increased surveliance, outside wars (of agression), drug trafficing and so on. I mean it's shit but whatever happened today changes nothing and it's up to us, people of world to be good and unite in humanity. And i don't for a second belive Kamala was really meant to win, there is no chance that democrats with really amazing specialist couldn't find someone more like Obama (who would make Trump look like and total dumbass) to run for the office. And yeah Republicans think they also found their saviour like they forget that Trump did pretty much nothing important the last time he was in the office from their perspective. That style of democracy is popular also here in europe, and it's just different face of the same old totalitarian state - people in power use their control over media (and voting if need arises) to divide people, to use the most primal tendency to form groups, and they pretend like any other vote would be wasted. That's a shame because people "on the ground" in both parties are often really decent patriots who struggle to push for the slightest changes in right direction, but they have little voice because of how these parties are made and sponsored. And belive me if you really listened to good chunk of republican voters you would find that almost all your opinions are the same and the rest could be resolved in proper compromise if you were allowed to discuss it. But then you turn on tv or use google, and it's all the worst possible takes and trolls which make people think that the division has to be massive. I see that in my own country, and throughout the europe. Don't worry, be decent human, see good in people, stand on your principles and don't let anyone give you blue or red lablel, it's not football match. Best wishes to you! ❤

I have to throw in my opinion. Nah don't vote. It doesn't really matter because it's not real. This democrats vs republicans division is false. It's made up. These are the same people, the same intrests groups. And behind it, there is incredible machine of really advance social psychology techniques. Many people who see Biden barely being able to put together a sentence think to themselfs "are these democrats stupid?". No they are not, it was meant to be that way, and all the stupid shit about Kamala was also meant to be like that. Looking at Trump is even more revealing. There he is a billionare who somehow made millions of poor people belive that he gives a fuck. He doesn't. He was in the office already, he did nothing of any real significane and he won't this time (at least nothing good). The same tactic of the simplest divide and conquer, of my side vs their side is used almost everywhere else, because it's so goddamn useful. I'm from poland, we do have more parties but in reality it always boils down to really two maybe three - same people, same faces, same money for three decades. And if you look at really important policies you can see how the direction is the same. It's always things like gay rights, abortion, race - becasue it's free real estate, it cost them nothing to give or take rights away. What stays is countless wars of agression, corporate expansion, increased survaliance of the population, worse and worse education, reduction of actuall middle class, non stop rethoric of some kind of common enemy (terrorists, russia, woke people, far right people, leftists, communists - whatever fits the bill). Voting won't solve it and it's a phantom for actual action that everyone should take. We can't be ruled. We have to participate, we have to carry a burden of responisbility about our societies, we have to work for a better world, and often fight for it. There will be no saviour. Trump isn't one, Kamala isn't one. Either we take the responsibility, and realize the duty we all have, or we can pretend that we were doing so by throwing some fucking ballot, and complaining for the next 4 years. There will be a time, when the window of opportunity will close entirely. When the tyrants (if you don't think of them as such, ask bombed populations of middle east how they see them) of the world will invent systems so tight, so advanced than even the thought of resistance won't be possible - and this day may be closer than you think, there might be no opportunities left.

Man, as a jamie player, his drink management is a hard topic to discuss. My go-to is 2 or 3 drinks. Only drinking after light strings, drinking after throwing in the corner. Go for 1 momochi combo if my back is too close to the corner. The first drink is essential. The second drink gets you good damage and oki. 3 drink gives a command grab, 4 drinks gives you a good string, meterless damage, and the ability to regenerate drive. It's hard to choose the value. Sometimes, it is matchup dependent

Okay this Derek montage make me really happy, thanks for that. It put a smile on my face. i'm not saying the early stuff aren't good but it also take me by surprise because i saw the two other video here about BaDIK and they wheren't even animated so, good job. Yeah i know this video is 2 years old but i gotta give credit where credit is due (i don't know the actual sentence but it's something along this way : ) This game is really something, i where wondering when i listen to the other 2 videos if you have played to the other game made by dr pinkcake and you kinda answer to that here, so my curiosity is satiate now. I also like to point out that since you are probably wrong about riona because of what we saw in the halloween party and the cliffanger of the last episode, but you couldn't have know for sure. It's interesting to see when people make prediction and to see if they are right or wrong, it's part of the fun to me to see these kinda old video. Tbh it's not that old, the game deliver slowly but it's the price for this quality of writting, in the western Adult VN genre, it in the top imo for a reason. (close to stuff like leap of faith and eterneum ) On the tremolo point, when you said that he is a great protagonist, it is something that western AVN do well, and especialy this one. I mean i encounter AVN by the japanese door, and generaly the main protag is dull, has no personnality and he is like a ghost. I get it that you, the player/reader need to identify to him and that the dev/writer don't want to upset anyone but playing link everytime isn't funny or interesting. Nearly all good Japanese VN i've read have good main protagonist, and sometime it's the best character! (like in grisaia , one of the best VN i know) So yeah, tremolo he is a good character with a well balance between blank that we the player can fill and other strong characteristic that made him interesting. PS: I'm a Jill person. I like slow burn and romantic stuff (i agree that it wasn't nice to lie by omission to Jill about her beloved piano ) but it's close to the trouple. tbh the relationship made with these 3 help me to understand how trouple could be interesting, how it can work even if sometime it's maybe too much focused on tremolo. In any case, i love this trouple synergy. PS: sorry for the wall of text, i hope it will help a bit the youtube algorithmn, i dunno.

What would you suggest they do to make level 1 supers more worthwhile? Most of them do 2k and generally don't give great oki. Bumping them up to like 2300 damage was my first thought, but that's increasing the damage of a high damage game even further.
Practicality is the main thing. Let them do things you can't normally do, instead of just being combo enders where you would've just ended in a special anyways. For instance, I wouldn't mind Ryu's lvl 1 being, like, 6 frame startup just like Luke's, and allow for some links and confirms that usually aren't possible. I think characters with subsystems should get a little more interplay with their supers, like have Ryu's denjin level 1 give a longer knockdown or whatever. Some characters already do have good supers, players just aren't using them correctly yet, like Cammy for instance. Some characters have supers that are worth using but only in the right situations, like Akuma whose level 2 needs to be close enough to the corner to do anything, or hell, Ryu's who needs Denjin plus the corner with level 2 to get a clear worthwhile spend. Level 1s as invincible wakeup tools are currently underused, since that's often the way to get the most value for the smallest amount of super possible for most characters, and it lets players do a reversal without spending drive gauge and risking burnout plus the corner after the punish. In SFV, the supers were a lot faster, and as a result, they allowed for footsies interactions that wouldn't normally be possible. Several characters, like Ken or R. Mika, would literally tap a single light button in footsies and hit confirm it from max range straight into CA. I'd prefer if way more of the supers had practical value and all of them were sped up a lot, I don't think supers should give oki for the most part cuz fuck high damage invuln yolo moves into oki, like, what the hell is that shit? But yeah, lower the overall damage of all supers, mainly level 3s, maybe even change the scaling rate for lvl 1s from 30% to 40% and lvl 2s from 40% to 45%, or maybe not idk. Supers are their own resource, so no matter how good or bad they are, they still need to be used to not waste the resource, so I'd nerf all the damage and make them all capable of more practical stuff.

I noticed that people hold their super bar, i was corious about how many potential supers were in a fight, characters with strong level 2 get added value maximizing their super usage even if they dont generate super gauge for a period of time.
The highest separate hits per round was still Guile by far, the lowest tended to by Akuma, AKI, and Bison. Bison was the only character who was sometimes ending rounds in 3 hits, or sometimes even just 2. Guile players also spend the least drive gauge per round of any character. People tend to think that zoning characters build more drive gauge since they don't have to block much and they get to waste time, but honestly rushdown builds a lot more drive gauge than zoning, and Guile has nothing good to spend his drive gauge on half the time, so he just sits on it. His EX moves don't skip neutral, he can't low forward drive rush to get in, and his combo extensions with DRC are mostly pretty weak. His best drive gauge spend is simply EX flashkick or raw DR.

I don't think that the downsides of meter spending being "abstract" means the game is random, I think it means the game is hard. Any randomness comes much more from the insane oki on everything, and defensive options being swingy. But I don't think this game is any more random than SFV.
I stopped the video when you said punish counters are random. And said 1 frame can determine counter or punish counters. Umm no. Punish counter is a bonus for whiff punishing. It is taking advantage of the recovery of a move. Counter is the startup of a move Crush counters were actually a lot more random. You clearly don’t play SF6 and it shows

The game is really snowbally and the core mechanics and homogenization of the pokes don't help. Fireball wars are way less important because of parry and EX fireballs.The corner is oppressive with all the checkmate scenarios and how coin flippy the offense is with the drive rush and drive impact. Neutral can be skipped with unreactable drive rushes. Corner to corner combos are also a problem, and the super system is flawed since most of them are used as combo fillers or desperate reversals. The game is designed to play offensively and gamble attacking and snowball from there. I have 5 characters in Masters and everyone feels more or less the same, fish for pokes into rush to the corner and gamble on offense from there while the guy on defense try to reverse the tides.
Also add shitty retarded mechanics like throw loops and the fact that the characters play in a very controlled and little to no creativity on combos and neutral and you have a game that it's uninteresting and boring to play. It's designed for e-sports
Merge counters/punish counters into just "counter" and nerf the damage bonus/scaling by 50%. Should be some damage reward, but the real reward is getting the opportunity for a combo off it.

Counter is hitting the opponent during their attack, punish counter is hitting them during the recovery frames of the attack, that part of the game is very predictable.
I you misunderstood his point. He was saying there's literally a 1 frame difference between a punish counter and a regular counter. The reward you get for a PC is dramatically higher than the reward you get for a CH. This makes neutral VERY unpredictable, I can throw a button to stop you from moving forward but if I get clipped i might lose 10% OR 40%. It's not the CH itself thats unpredictable, its the results from the type of CH itself that are unpredictable.
@Tinfoiltomcat well with that logic there is a 1 frame difference between blocking and getting hit so that must be random. The attack has start up and active frames. Get hit during them and it's counter if you get hit after them during the recovery frame it's a punish counter. It's simple and consistent.
@oboroshogun no, that's not "by that logic" at all. I think you're misunderstanding again. The idea is that once the attack is out, there is a 1 frame difference between a CH and a PH. Getting counter hit is a given, thats the predictable part. The unpredictable part is what type of counter hit it is. Being able to identify why it was a PC over a CH does not make the interaction any less random. I can identify that gravity will make a coin fall after i flip it in the air, but the side facing up is random. This distinction is new to the series with SF6. Situations that used to result in 5% damage like a cr.mk or counter poke in neutral can now SOMETIMES convert to 40% instead. Yes we know WHY they got a 40% conversion, but the interaction that created it was random
@Tinfoiltomcat that's seem like a problem that he is having and maybe you as well. Getting a punish counter is super predictable. The only thing that can be tricky is going for a punish counter and having them block your attack when the timing is tight. Say it's a minus 4 and you were late on the jab, well you are going to miss the window but that's a user error. After a block it's literally always a punish counter if the move was unsafe. It's as consistent as it gets. As for if you try to whiff punish too early well you are likely going to get a trade if you are lucky or probably get countered yourself because you press a button too early and are going to run into their attack's active frames. It's as straight forward as it gets. Confirming a regular counter can be tough but you just have to try to set them up with frame traps and look for the huge counter hit notice that pops up on your side.
